Where are the Disney Special Offers?
voodoobones replied to voodoobones's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have seen some deals in the past for stay 3 nights and get two free and other discounts on the hotels. My wife is a teacher so we are kind of stuck going in the summer. Right now I am looking at the good neighbor hotels. I just keep hoping for some deals to pop up for summer. -

voodoobones replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Way cool. I had grand plans for my 40th. So much for grand plans. Maybe I'll go on a cruise for my 45th. I am so jealous!! HB. Glad you're having a fun time! -
I saw the movie and thought it was amazing. Usually the books are better than the movies so it will be interesting to hear what you think.

Silverwood from above in the summer.
voodoobones replied to voodoobones's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thank you everybody. I am saddened that the runway is closed. I would love to land there. The day I flew over we had a pretty big storm blow through so there wasn't as many people at Boulder Beach as normal. That morning I had to dodge a few clouds. -

Silverwood Aerial TR

That's funny. I just turned the picture upside down and it works that way too. As far as land to develop I believe they own a lot of land east of the highway. I think that is where they will be building the hotel. -
I flew over Silverwood in North Idaho a couple of weeks ago and here are the pictures I took. Next time I will try to get better pictures. In the distance Getting closer Roller Coaster Alley

What a jerk to do that to his kids. When I read, "The kid isn't going to grow up and do what [Hitler] did," I knew right away that he didn't care about his son. I would never refer to my son as, "The Kid". Give me a break. He used all three of his children as tools. What a sad example of a father and a mother.

I fly airplanes for fun. So that's just a picture of me.

What is your favorite band?

I have always been a big Oingo Boingo fan but at the moment I am really digging Avenged Sevenfold. I have a wide taste in music. -
^ Likes dead puppets. < Not sure when this thread started to predict the next poster. v Once had a wardrobe "malfunction" in front of a lot of people.

I had read something the other day that mentioned that Booth had an accomplice. I had always thought Booth had acted alone. Interesting stuff.

I finished reading "The Master and Margarita". Excellent book. Now I am reading, "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. It is a book written by an atheist about religion. So far I am really liking it. I have had several people recommend it. Some have said that it is too heavy handed and I can see how that can be perceived. At times it gets a bit too "scientific". Overall though it is very interesting. If you have strong beliefs one way or the other you are either going to love it or hate it. If you are in the middle you will probably find it interesting.

Great suggestions everybody! My wife is always looking for new books to read as well so this thread will make me seem somewhat intelligent to her. Krakenking: I haven't read the Kite Runner but my wife has. She said it was a really good book but it was difficult to read because of the things that took place in it. Is "A Thousand Splendid Suns" just as heavy or is it a little bit lighter to read?

^ I have always wanted to read that. I'll have to pick that one up.

The "Say Something Random" Thread
voodoobones replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
It finally stopped snowing. It had been snowing since about 1pm. I'm not ready for snow yet. Dang. -
I did a search and I found one thread that was titled the same but it was locked. Someone had post a link to a thread called, "What Books Do You Read?" which is a totally different topic. Basically they were asking what type of books you are interested in where as this thread is about what book you are currently reading. Unfortunately the original thread about what book you are reading was locked So I thought I would start it back up. Currently I am reading, "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. This is actually the second time I have read it. The first time I had decided to read it after I found out that Mick Jagger had based his song, "Sympathy for the devil" off of the book after he had read it. It is really an entertaining book but the ending has a few problems. I think it is because Bulgakov died before the book was published. So if you're looking for a good book to read then try, "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov.

This was on my way to work the other day. I like how the paint ran.
