  1. I feel like we're all in a twisted version of National Treasure.
  2. Just based on that last set of pictures, I'd say you're taking a group of ACErs to Canada, making sure to teach them french and having many stops along the way for food. Since Wisconsin is on your way to Canada (on flight #1023), you took a rest stop at Carrabba's...
  3. Before I dig myself any deeper into my "AUS hole", I'm just going to wait for the next set of clues.
  4. ^^^^ I found that site first....no credit? I'm still thinking Australia for all reasons in my previous post, even though those pictures of dubai appear to be perfect.
  5. This is probably going to be totally wrong but here goes nothing. I think they're going to Australia. Work: - JetBlue (Blue=Australian Flag) - Superman is red and blue (also flag) - The three flags hanging in LAX make red, white, and blue when put together (flag) - In the mcdonalds/wolfgang puck pic the "wolf" making the pizza looks a lot like a dingo (related to a wolf, but from Australia) - Hello Kitties are wearing red/white/blue (flag) - grounded adaptor plug might be used in Europe, but it fits an Australian sized plug - When you look up "roller derby" the first link on the first result is "roller derby teams in Australia" - Australians speak English which is the first language listed on the Exit sign. - the shoe looks very "outdoorsy", like it could be used in the outback - Singapore airlines flies from LAX to Sydney with a layover in Japan (the picture has the sign for "JAL" aka Japan Airlines in the background) - The picture of the ladies from the Miss Reef competition at the Pan Am games '06 is the most obvious. Reef is a company based out of Australia, the country most known for surfing. - although the picture with the blanket, pillow, and bag is really pink, blue, and yellow it could possibly be interpreted as red, white, and blue (flag again) - So far nothing other than the exit sign has been in another language, pointing to the fact that it's an English speaking country - who the hell else would have a restaurant named "wagamama"? just try saying that with an Australian accent. it works. Also, Australia has a city called Wagga Wagga, to prove my point - One more thing about wagamama...it was created in England, whos flag is also red, white and blue with the same pattern that appears on the Australian flag. Thats what I've got so far. I know it doesn't make a ton of sense, but its where the clues point to for me...
  6. Johnny Rockets aside, I'm not happy about the loss of Papa Johns. The one right by Batman (at SFMM) always has a line and since that is usually where I end up a couple hours into the day, it's always nice to get some cheese bread and water on my way down the line towards Mooseburger. However, if getting rid of the licensing means having more food for your money like Mooseburger then I'm fine with it. Just don't put in any more animatronic singing meese please.
  7. YES! I would sit there and watch a half-empty train go around the track while the line was 30-40 minutes long! So true! Don't want to go too far off topic, but I had to stand in that line for an hour. Oh yeah it was also 110 degrees and theres barely any shade in the line whatsoever.
  8. No matter how much I hated the preshow, I'm going to miss the Terminator theme. It better not become Wonder Woman: The Ride
  9. I'm thankful for: -TPR (for being the best site for coasters, jokes, and IAAPA coverage) -GCI (for making the best woodies imo) -Intamin (for making the best steelies imo) -SFMM (for being my second home since I came to SoCal. The site of my first roller coaster and the birthplace of my love of the theme park industry.) Thank you!
  10. I noticed the same thing...I was hoping that he would comment on the recent work done on I305 In other news, another great video Robb! Very informative and very exciting to watch
  11. Yeah, in all seriousness, thanks for doing all of this for us! I really appreciate the inside look
  12. So answer me this, exactly how many lockers to I have to defile in order to get into this next year? EDIT: I don't mean lock3rs, I mean fluffy bunnies.
  13. I really hope that system works - shooting in between the bolt assemblies at 60+mph leaves no room for error - not even a micrometer. I would like to know how you know what the tolerances are and a micrometer is very very small. (A thickness of a hair is between 17-100 micrometer) I can't think of anything mechanical that uses a tolerance of one micrometer. I think he was joking. saying micrometer is like saying, "That goes a bajillion miles per hour"
  14. If we're going to get into what it should be rethemed as, I vote Rocko's modern life.
  15. I 100% agree with Robb. Probably wasn't a smart move on their part to begin with since now they're going to have to waste money on retheming the area. Hopefully it won't come out of the Superman/Green Lantern theming budget (just talking about SFMM, obviously). I don't know what it will be like for other parks, but those are some major institutions in the Six Flags parks as a whole. Maybe the money saved in licensing fees will balance out the cost of retheming? Does anybody know just how much those fees are?
  16. ^shows how often I go to Knott's haha. Interesting that they'd just leave it half way done like that
  17. Hey guys, I went to KBF yesterday and here's my little report: First of all, there was NOBODY in the park since it was a Friday, a few hundred tops. The thing that sucked was the amount of maintenance and closed rides. Not only did they restrict the back area of the park until 11:00, but Silver Bullet was down so really the only things to ride were Sierra Sidewinder (two heavy people on one side, one small person on the other = ) and Ghostrider. Me and my friends were able to hit these up quickly and wait around for the park to open, which again sucked because SB was closed and there was nowhere to go for like 45 minutes. Once they opened up the back of the park, I was disapointed to find that Montezooma was closed. Also they had a bunch of maintenance crew working on it, one of which was doing some sort of work on the track going up the back spike. Since they hadn't opened Jaguar either, my friends and I were able to get a couple great rides on La Revolucion in. Eventually Montezooma and Jaguar opened, so we took advantage of those and kept going around the park. We got a ride in on Xcelerator (intamin cable was happy and didn't break), Supreme Scream, and a couple on Bigfoot rapids (we got to see the water get turned on, which was pretty cool) before grabbing the most expensive lunch ever at Johnny Rockets. One order of fries, one hamburger, two orders of chicken fingers, and three shakes....50 bucks! After lunch, we were able to ride rip tide, but like all the other good rides, perilous was closed. We rode Pony Express as well and something I noticed was that it seems to be launching slower than when it first opened. It felt like we barely made it through the turn and first hill, which is interesting after the accident. Since we pretty much had run out of things to do, we grabbed another 10 rides on Bigfoot Rapids, bringing our total to 12 for the day. We also rode with a couple of women who are planning to officially break the park record of 43 next week. After this, we took one final front row ride on Xcelerator (which was running great, I almost blacked out both times) before heading out for the day. Now for the best part of the report: You'll all be happy to know that Xcelerator is getting a new paint job! I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but here's a picture I took featuring my friend Max. Xcelerator's gunna be purrrdy once more new paint...and Max
  18. This is just a total stab in the dark to put another idea on the table. I know it's a nooby idea, but is it possible that they could be modifying the incline of the hill to reduce forces? I mean, there's no way to tell until we see how many pieces of structure they're taking out, right? Trims would be a much more reasonable suggestion, but you never know...
  19. I don't even care about loss of airtime, that thing looks fun as hell
  20. Just to give my input on the POV, there is no way that you can judge a book by its cover guys. If you watch a POV of I305 it looks pretty "not that great" either. When you ride it however, your eyeballs are being slowly gouged out by the forces (something you cant tell from a camera). Also, since it was a mounted camera, you can't really judge how the ride affects the rider. If it was someone holding the cam, you'd most likely see it bouncing all over the place.
