  1. Can't agree more..relative to the cost of an entire ride I would think that the cost of an extra train would be a worthwhile investment, but I'm not surprised considering past actions like sending Riddler's third train to SFNE (Or current ones like doing Scream's rehab in the middle of summer..it's been running one train for months now) I'll be getting my first rides in on a very busy day, Saturday 8/31, so I'll definitely be headed there first thing in the morning.
  2. ^ Yes there was a defective part on the other train, supposedly they're waiting for a replacement part and running the remaining train in the mean time. Most reports have been that even though they're running one train, they have been dispatching aggressively and moving the line pretty quickly.
  3. General rule of thumb when looking for lighter crowds, Sunday > Friday > Saturday. If you have FL/FLP it doesnt really matter unless you plan on marathoning Wicked Twister or something
  4. ^ X2's line is usually pretty short at that time relatively speaking but the park has been pretty busy overall lately. You want to ride on the inside with someone heavier on the outside. If you ride on the outside with no one on the inside, then you're gonna have a bad time. If you're going by yourself remember the single rider lines on Viper/Revolution/Riddler/GLFF/LLDD
  5. Strictly speaking, it was the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland CA in 1994. (I chickened out in 1986.) I kind of don't want to count a Disneyland ride though..partly just because it's a lot of people's first Arrow and partly because Disneyland is just different for me. If you don't count that one, my next Arrow was ironically, their last - X. Very first ride of the day on a trip to Magic Mountain on September 2nd, 2007.
  6. ^ Im guessing pretty heavy because its the last Saturday before school is back in in the area I'm told. I'll be there that evening, Im hoping to squeeze in a few rides between 8 and 10pm before I do a whole day on Sunday.
  7. I was looking to do something similar, but from Atlanta. It's only $400 round trip from Atlanta to Cleveland, which seems reasonable. Yeah SMF to CLE is a pretty expensive route. Lucky me. For ATL to CLE using the same airline and fare class it would be about $241. Also I just noticed I put "each way" up there for the United flight..to be accurate its $580 round trip.
  8. The really hellish thing is that it's not listed on the official events page..if you don't know to check for it you could easily end up there that day on accident. When someone tells me they ended up at SFMM (or SFDK) on KC Day my reaction is the same as though they told me a relative had died I'm like "Oh, I'm so sorry...is there anything I can do?" lol
  9. ^ Demon has been a crap shoot all season. Great one day terrible the next..its seemingly random.
  10. ^^ OMG Yes avoid the park on 11/9 at all costs if that's Key Club Fall Rally Day..that is absolutely the craziest busiest day of the entire year. Weird, I thought they usually do that earlier. Looking closer 11/2 is a bad one too as it's Catholic Teen Day, which doesnt sound bad until you read the part that says it brings "thousands" of teens to the park. I would avoid both of those days but especially 11/9..Key Club day is pure hell unless you're actually in Key Club.
  11. ^ Its actually not usually a problem. There are a lot of people that leave for lunch or just go in the morning and leave..every time Ive gone out for lunch Ive gotten a closer parking spot upon return
  12. Sundays are pretty light and November is generally good cause its after Fright Fest and before Holiday In The Park.. but those are both Saturdays. Saturdays are always the busiest days relative to the rest of the week barring special events or holidays.
  13. I saw that United Flight when I was booking mine from california, but it was about $600 each way non stop from SFO to CLE, whereas the Southwest flight from SMF-MDW-CLE was $410 round trip with only a 90 min layover. If it was a $50 or maybe $100 difference Id just pay for the convenience but when its several hundred dollars difference, its not worth it for a couple hours. I can actually fly non-rev through my work which is $90 round trip on Southwest but flying standby with multiple stops is a risk I didnt want to take. Worst case I get stuck in Chicago and don't even make it to Cedar Point at all. For the confirmed seat and guarantee that Ill make it, for that Ill pay an extra $300.
  14. I have a question for local pass holders..I'm going on a day that's usually not very busy (Sun 9/8), but since I'm travelling half way across the country for just one day at the park I really want to use my time as efficiently as possible so I'm probably going to buy FL+ either way, but I'd prefer to buy it at the park. So, how often/how easy do the Fast Lane passes actually sell out? Is it common on a moderately busy day at the park to see FL or FL+ sold out?
  15. You mean the majority of enthusiasts, right? The GP don't care as much, only enthusiasts seem to do any noticeable complaining :/ One of my favorite things to do at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom when not riding coasters is stand near the exit of Kong and just listen to people (GP and enthusiast alike) coming off cursing how painful the ride is..
  16. Its just as bad as SFDK. The only good food at SFMM is Mooseburger Lodge. Otherwise just leave the park and go down the street to Chipotle or Chick Fil-A.
  17. They do look like ride supports but I seriously doubt they are because I don't think there is a park looking to build a ride just in time for the off season.
  18. The Pepsi wristband deal is only on Weds and Thurs. On Monday (and Tuesday) It's 1907 ride prices night, all rides are 1 ticket (And hot dogs and cotton candy are $1). http://beachboardwalk.com/discounts/ It's kind of funny though because none of the above would have cost anywhere near $1 in 1907. I believe the 'Dipper was .15 per ride when it opened in 1924.
  19. I'm not sure if I like the revamped version. In three weeks I'll know. It's actually quite a bit better. Now if only they could "revamp" the air conditioning in the queue.
  20. I frequently fly solo so if all rides were "single riders just use fast lane" boy would that just be a perfect world for me
  21. This was posted in the tour thread: Looks like they didn't fix it last night, glad it's back running now.
  22. Ugh..check out the Raptor line..gotta love that FLP!
  23. Imagine waiting that long for Mantis!
  24. Im going on 9/8 which I'm told is one of the least crowded days of the season, but I'm still buying a FL Plus..Ill cut those 10 minute waits to 0
