I had a Platinum Flash Pass and rode all the coasters (Except for X2 and Magic Flyer), Lex Luther, Carousel, and Sky Tower before the end of the day. I also got on Yolo 2x. Once to begin the day, and the other to end. Btw, X2 Was closed and I couldn't ride Magic Flyer cause I'm not Big Mike. Yeah I have to disagree as well. Flash Passes absolutely help quite a bit. Gold or Platinum flash passes turn 90 minute waits into 15 minute waits (They say gold is 50% and Plat is 90% but in reality theyre both 80-90% wait reduction). If you pay the upcharge for YOLO or X2 its a guaranteed station wait only since they're appointment rides so there's no line other than in the station. I went to the park on the Saturday of labor day weekend last year which is one of the busiest days of the year using gold flash passes and reservations were typically 5-15 minutes out, we easily rode everything we wanted to with plenty of time to spare including 3 or 4 laps on tatsu which had 90+ min waits. The only ride that can still screw you is SEFK because of where the line merges, you can still get stuck waiting over and hour like we did depending on ops. Six Flags' Q-Bot system really works great in contrast to Cedar Fair's Fast Lane pass. When I was at Cedar Point a lot of rides had merge points that were pretty far back from the station and with no digital reservation system it is not uncommon to still wait 45-90 minutes with fast lane on busy days. Such a wait is really unusual with a Gold or Platinum Flash Pass at SFMM. Other than the SEFK debacle it's always worked great.

I don't even feel like CP and SFMM are the same thing anymore. SFMM is interested in packing the most roller coasters into one place as possible while CP is more interested in providing a well rounded amusement park experience. I love both for what they are but to me it's hard to compare them ever since I had the chance to visit CP last summer.

No one said it was going to be torn down... And realistically, it never will be until its not able to safely sit there and rot. I heard they were having a problem with an elevator a few months back. But it's most likely just waiting on a structural inspection that I think they do every year. Yes, but the current speculation was because SFMM has just removed Sky Tower from the list of attractions on the website which is a new development.

I agree, but it would be wise to alternate which side you're using so that one side doesn't fall into disrepair like it is now. Every once in a while on Key Club day and such you could still open the second side when you needed it; as it stands that isn't even an option. I remember riding a couple years ago before the train was sent back to SFMM and it still had 8 rows. And with only 2 trains the dual station doesn't really help. The lower part of the queue goes way faster but then you get a 30 minute station wait. And it feels like forever. Does the dual station with only 2 trains increase capacity? If love to ride with 3 trains again. I don't see how it would help capacity (Considering I know SFMM would not run it efficiently enough to benefit), but it would prevent the queue from spilling into the walkway (not that I think MM ops care one iota about that, who knows why they were doing it today)

PhotoTR: Flug Der Dämonen Pre-Opening

Definitely, love the theming, especially the station interior. First time I've looked at a wing rider and was interested. This definitely isn't Six Flags. -
Since it's still close to opening day I'd say to hit Namtab first, that line could be long all day. Normally the best plan is to hit either X2 or YOLO first and whichever one you don't do first come back at about 4:30pm. I'm going the week after and I think we're probably going to do X2 first followed by Namtab and then hit YOLO in the afternoon. It is a little interesting that Namtab is in the far NW corner, X2 is in the far SE corner, and YOLO is right smack in the middle.

Sounds to me like they were working on both simultaneously and just released the mobile version first (maybe because mobile games are trendy?). Wishful thinking maybe, we'll see. With NoLimits 2 already out, Theme Park Studio on the way, and (hopefully a proper PC version of) RCT4 it's a fun year for theme park software users.

I don't think Ninja will be leaving before Viper (I don't think either will leave any time soon), and I don't know about the day to day mechanical maintenance costs of a suspended coaster versus a sit-down but as far as up time goes it seems to be just as reliable as Viper (it's almost never down) and I'd bet it has a higher ridership. I'm also guessing that the park would be more apprehensive to replace a coaster in the middle of the mountain than they would on the outskirts because I think it costs more to have one custom built for the terrain. Personally I like Ninja, it's a fun relaxing ride through the trees, it's way better than the snooze fest that is Draggin' Iron at Cedar Point, that's for sure. Hiyah!

More bad press for Six Flags.....or not?

Very cool, I would like to see that in more parks, it doesn't sound like a very "six flags" think to do though. Not at all surprised that SDC is the first to start it.
