^^You know, we can preach all we want about what Marineland is like to us and you can listen to all opinions but it's best to go and check it out for yourself. Ride Dragon Mountain if you want to and check out the place. Word of mouth about an experience is powerful. Plus, you're in the Niagara Falls area, which has some of the nicest public parkland in Southern Ontario/ Wine Region beyond the tourist areas as an added option. Marineland is a special place to me since its where I first saw and learned about sea life at eight years old with my summer day camp at the time and rode my first looping coaster, Dragon Mountain. I went back for the first time since then in 2008 and formed my own adult opinion of the place. I haven't been back since primarily because nothing had really changed since I was there in 80s. Although in the back of my mind, I do hope that what occurs 'back of house' is in the best interest of the animals since everything guest facing didn't seem out of the ordinary compared to other sea life parks around the world. Back on topic for Wonderland--I'm someone who goes mostly in the off months and not that often during the summer months so depending on who I'm bringing from out of town or with on a particular visit, I do get the Plus version of Fast Lane. You'll get some great rides on the two "biggies" and have lots of time to catch a show, line up for non-Fast Lane rides, check out the water park and take your time walking around the park. Plus, it's always great to get a few re-rides on Behemoth and Leviathan just before leaving. Like others have said you can definitely check out the lines first and buy directly in front of Behemoth or Leviathan. If you're there for two days, I'd get Fast Lane Plus on the first day and nothing on the second. -

Again, being the same manufacturer is a moot point. Cyclone and Goldrusher are the same manufacturer. Nighthawk and Cobra are the same. Afterburn, Vortex and Intimidator are the same... must be the same experience, right? These are two different ride experiences. Just like Top Gun is different from Vortex. Those are not all B&M Mega Coasters. I was referring to both the same coaster type and manufacturer. My points still stand. Riding both quite often, I still think that Behemoth and Leviathan are more similar than different. Again, having both is still fantastic, even if it make little sense....until you realize that Leviathan could very well have been a B&M wing rider. In that case, give me a second or third mega coaster by the same manufacturer at the same park any day -

This looks great! I really like the theme and like others, think that the queue could really be a huge part of the ride. As soon as I saw Maurer Sohne, I thought Winjas, which is the best spinning coaster that I've been on. I'm hoping that a bit of custom stuff will be added as a surprise, that could really interact well with "glow" scenery. -

^,^^Agree completely with Mega_Coaster_77. It's fantastic to have both but it still makes little sense--they are both Mega Coasters with different lift heights. It's fine to have the same manufacturer but different coaster types would make more sense. I'd wish for I305 as well. The fact is, Leviathan and Behemoth are very similar with the main differentiators being a location on opposite sides of the park, colour and train. I guess the park was going for a Magnum/ Millennium Force thing..ie: airtime vs speed. -

Well this just made my morning a little sad. This is my favorite stand up coaster by far. I agree that it most likely will be used for Splash Works expansion. If they put in something like Mammoth, then yes...removing Sky Rider will be worth it. It's odd that they worked so hard to keep something like Dragon Fire on the other hand, which I understand is because it still has very high ridership. -

It would be great if they could take a look at some of the really good regional park/ water park locations for inspiration. Holiday World and even Splash Country USA come to mind. It would be awesome having a water coaster as an anchor. Who wouldn't want a Wildebeest or Mammoth? Even Typhoon at SFNE and Deluge at Kentucky Kingdom are a ton of fun. One thing I hope they don't do is look to Cedar Point. Soak City there, as an upcharge attraction, was such a generic and uninspiring place to be. I'm not sure if it's changed any in the past few years. -
Vekoma Roller Coasters

I think Colorado Adventure is my favourite, only slightly ahead of Everest. Gravity Max would easily jump to 1st if I ever have the chance to ride it. After trying Gouderix twice...to give it a fair shot and all, it was honestly pretty horrible and can safely stay down at the bottom. Apparently it was even re-tracked? Yikes. Even though there's only one left, I really like Vekoma's Illusion coasters. -

Leviathan is pretty similar to Millennium Force. It's built to give a sensation of speed and has graceful curves. Leviathan does have more air than Millennium Force though. However, I305 is in a completely different category than either of the two other North American gigas. I305 is all about balls to the wall intensity. When you get off Leviathan or Millennium Force, you're thinking "hey, that was pretty fun!", when you get off I305 you're thinking "holy crap, that was insane!". For me, I'd rank them I305 > Millennium Force > Leviathan. Though your mileage may vary. This is exactly how I rank them as well. Leviathan is almost a B&M version of Millennium Force, yet, Millennium Force feels noticeably faster, more intense and longer after the first drop. Like many newer B&Ms, Leviathan's airtime is mostly in the last few rows and best in the last row. The surroundings at CP give Millennium Force a bit of an edge--it's one of the nicest looking coasters out there with great views of the water and park. Airtime on Millennium Force, for me, was noticeable after the first drop two times -- the large hill after the turn around and the low to the ground hill beside the station. Leviathan has the low to the ground hill and both large hills after the drop, so really, one more. But these are speed machines overall and fantastic ones at that. This brings me great joy. Sky Rider is still my favourite stand up. The first reason is the stand up air time. How crazy is that? Second is the length--it's not too long and not too short. That's why the old Intamin stand ups and Georgia Scorcher are right up there for me as well. I hope CW keeps taking great care of this classic. -
TWO new TPR park events coming up
rollin_n_coastin replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey everybody, if anyone needs one or two tickets to this Friday's TPR Knoebel's meet up, send me a PM. There's also a hotel reservation to go with this if interested at the Pine Barn Inn, Danville. Enjoy an awesome day at one of the best parks in the USA! Awesome ERT on Twister, Flying Turns and the infamous "Phoenix Glowfest" ERT. Two meals included. All day ride wrist band included (excludes up-charge attractions). Tickets are $70.00 each Hotel reservation (completely optional) is from Thursday, July 31 to Saturday, August 2 at $115/ night. You may be able to find much cheaper a bit further away from the park. -
I really hope this is complete sarcasm. Like, seriously. It's been less than two hours. And people are already nitpicking the ride and talking about how they'd rather have a flying coaster. I thought Kyle's comment was a good discussion topic for a roller coaster forum, especially about one just launched with some great animations--how about maybe discussing/ answering the question, which wasn't at all malicious? Could this type of layout work for a flying coaster? Speaking to large elements, so far I think the best application of a Wing Coaster has been Fluch der Demonen because it is the opposite--compact and makes great use of the winged seating through all the comparatively tight twists and turns--the effect is really great. Large winged coasters like this and Gatekeeper really are more of a "journey" for sure. This ride is going to look great at the park.

But Switzerland speaks a dialect of German as there main language. So it is B&M That's reaching. It's going to be a MACK. The whole German thing killed the B&M idea. "German speaking country" is the key So if that is taken literally, we've got Intamin Amusement Rides based in Liechtenstein and the German-based manufacturers--Mack, Zierer, Maurer Sohne and Gerstlauer, or designed by Stengel engineering for any of the above? But really, Switzerland can be referred to as speaking any of its four official languages, including German, so that doesn't necessarily take B&M out 100%.

Well that all a matter of opinion. I agree on the safety and reliability, they have the crown on that. Best coasters? You'll have to ask El Toro, Bizzaro, Expedition-G Force and I305 about that Agreed. That is such a blanket statement. The top five in both Golden Ticket and Mitch Hawker also tend to disagree with that statement. All coasters are built safe. We're not talking about driving a Volvo here, we're talking about fun

So... you haven't ridden Banshee? I also rode Wild Eagle a couple days ago and was pleasantly surprised. I would have been really nervous if riding OzIris before Banshee, but Banshee sure brought them roaring back. Even still, the older inverts are noticeably more intense after riding back to back. haha! Totally. Same with Expedition GeForce or Dragon Khan....happy for life

^^^, ^^Very true. Hershey wanted something more extreme for their latest and they sure got it. Even then, Skyrush definitely wasn't a "cookie cutter" mega coaster. "Cookie cutter" doesn't have to be synonymous with moderately aggressive/ wider appealing rides. If this is a one-of-a-kind B&M, maybe they can prove this to be correct....until almost the exact same ride starts popping up at other parks, like their wing riders (with the exception of Floch Von Damonen, I think). Anyone else thinking they're geek enough to be too excited to sleep through tonight?

^I can't wait to give that a try and really hope it works--a friend told me about this this past week and it makes sense, even if going against "proper riding position". At least it sounds like doing that will get the restraint pad on your lap/ hips instead of the middle of the legs. There's no way that I'm giving up on Skyrush without a fight lol. I really enjoyed my last visit to Hershey, maybe because it wasn't that busy and our group got to marathon the coasters. Fahrenheit and Storm Runner are still huge favourites. Really looking forward to the 2015 announcement at Hershey. It's looking to be a great year in the industry with cool attractions coming....that aren't at a Six Flags Park -

^^It is definitely an awesome ride. I'm really glad that an intense ride like Skyrush exists in the USA, without a doubt. Your friends' description of a feeling of legs snapping sounds just about right, though lol ^Definitely agree with this. Leg type could definitely be part if it but I don't think it has a lot to do with strength though. I leg press between 410 to 450 lbs, used to swim a lot but still bike and jog. -

Wow, restraints are still being discussed--there must be something there I've personally never had an issue on El Toro. Bizarro is more uncomfortable than El Toro but manageable. It goes to show that our body types are all different enough to find certain restraints and riding positions more comfortable than others. When it comes to Skyrush, it seems that a lot of people don’t find it to be particularly easy or enjoyable to ride given how often the restraint issue come up. Skyrush pretty much destroyed me after three rides. It was honestly the most pain I’ve ever experienced on a coaster. I’m assuming that it’s got to be my fault somewhat and that I’m not riding it right. I don’t want to really complain because the ride is full of so much awesome over all. When I rode it late in the season in 2013, the only line all day was for the front row. I tried to marathon it with our group but gave up after the third ride. At that point I would have been happier having my head bashed while marathoning a Vekoma looper all day. Maybe it’s my “leg type”? lol Honestly, trying to enjoy the forces of being thrown violently forward over so many incredible elements with nothing but a chisel on your legs holding you in your seat was not at all fun. Unless it’s easy to eventually “learn how to ride”, I would not be opposed at all to a Furious Baco/ Zac Spin style restraint on it. I can understand why KD put those on I305, to an extent.
