  1. I have it figured out, the finale is a splash down in the pond out front..
  2. I think it will be a good flat for them as long as it doesn't strand people all the time. I think it's odd that in engineer thought it would be a good idea to stop a ride at 300ft rather than build a safety mechanism to stop the spinning and slowly lower the cars to ground.
  3. Vekoma flyers are by far the best flyer in my book. It's hard to sit (and I said sit) in a B&M and actually feel like your "flying". Superman didn't sit when he flew.
  4. Of course it doesn't help that the world has been so lousy this year. They were saying the weather put them way behind on construction.
  5. Rode this just before close Saturday Night.
  6. The problem is with the whole "Coaster Capitol" concept is it becomes about quantity not quality because neither park is all that money laden. After all in my opinion if St Louis really wanted to be a REAL coaster capitol they would have competed with Mamba NOT boomerang.. Not to change the subject but they did release some information on some killer new stuff at Haunt this year. They now have 3 levels of Fastpass for Haunt. The basic level, a Skeleton Key Level, and a VIP level. The Skeleton key level sounds really cool. In 5 of the Haunts there will be a Skeleton key room this is apparently an interactive room with a puzzle you have to solve in order to get out of the room. The VIP level has the Skeleton Key piece, Dinner is included, there is a special section for watching the opening ceremonies and they were saying that you go with the parade to be front of the line for the opening of the haunt of your choice. They were saying it will be more interactive with the actors as well. Sounds like it will be pretty killer.
  7. Here are some pics from Bahncon on 8-11-2013. Talk about an awesome enthusiast event. They really know how to take care of their coaster enthusiasts. This is the tower as it stands now at 150ft Notice the slide goes below grade here.
  8. My guess is that SDC has a real problem in the coming years with the whole concept of craftsmen. Case in point the glass shop most of the items sold there now are commercial products from China as is the Blacksmith shop. The problem is that kids today don't care about this stuff unless it can be done on an X-Box, Play station, or a Wii. The shad Heller's of the world are passing on and there are very few people getting in line to replace them. I remember a day when SDC made taffy from open to close, it now only happens about 4 to 5 hours a day. Most of what is in their shop is purchased. It will be a sad day when they can no longer support this part of the park due to lack "Master" Craftsmen.
  9. I really don't agree, I think WindSeeker is a far better ride than Sky Screamer, not to mention I have seen Kids swing sets with heaver gauge chain break. Not sure I really feel "safe" on them. On top of that according the new Maintenance director Windseeker is here to stay with Cedar Fair.
  10. I know I am a major dork, but in the q&a with the new director of maintenence I don't think Thunder hawk is going anywhere for a while. They just sunk a bunch of money on motor rebuilds, breaks, and electrical work. It seems to have started running quote well. He also was talking about some major work on Timber wolf. They are strong pays off the track down to the ledgers and rebuilding with somr re-profilong. Hinted at some additional capitol along with major work on Viking Voyager as well. Even if they don't get something big I am glad they are fixing some of the stuff that's broke.
  11. I think the only B&M rides that I didn't find to be at least "fun" were the old stand-up coasters (Riddler's Revenge and Georgia Scorcher are two exceptions). I think they're batting .500 for me when it comes to their new Wing coasters (liked Wild Eagle, didn't care all that much for Gatekeeper). It'll be interesting to see how Banshee turns out. I do like the color scheme and theming. The only one I really disliked is Intimidator, it might have been fun if it hadn't had trim breaks on virtually every hill.
  12. The new restraints look interesting considering they now look a lot like the Wing Rider shoulder restraints.
  13. I just hope they can do something about the razor wire on top of the fences, it was very off putting to be entering a park with razor wire. Made me feel very unsafe.
  14. I have a really stupid question, but really curious to know the answer. Why is it that Cobra at La Ronde is an Intamin, but it looks and sounds like a B&M???
  15. Did Thad make it Ok? Have been worried about him with all the talk of extreme restraints
  16. I don't think you will ever see an intimin coaster in this state. Not sure why everyone seems to thoughts elsewhere like b&m. I think timber wolf needs rmc treatment I don't think I have ever felt it this rough.
  17. I think Saturday will be hit and miss, here is why: Saturday has a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Partly sunny and hot, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 100. Saturday Night has a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. If the morning starts out with heavy rain, especially in Springfield you won't see a lot of locals aka Season Pass Holders. If they days start out nice then it will probably be quite busy. If it rains after lunch for any period of time, you typically see a lot of people leave. Where it all becomes unpredictable is at night. I would guess that if it's raining in the late afternoon people will probably stay home. Even though there are several indoor options SDC on a hot muggy rainy day kinda sucks. If you want to go to avoid the crowds, during the week is almost always better.
  18. don't mean to nit-pick but Celebration City didn't have a drop tower. It had an S&S Sky Shot but Imagine this is the move they are looking at. I bet SDC is getting tired of installing large scale air compressors for these rides..
  19. Obviously you have never ridden Mean Streak
  20. Doesn't Cedar fair try to avoid naming coasters the same?? I know with the consumption of the Paramount parks they already had some of that naming in place??? With that being said, Canada's Wonderland already has a Bat.. Just Sayin.
  21. My worst is Thunderation at SDC... Back to the lift hill into the station. Best porbably back to SDC for Outlaw Run The double barrel roll is pretty cool and you are moving fast enough its not incredibly painful. Also like splashdown on Diamondback and Griffon.
  22. *facepalm* This post is a joke. Please stop posting here if you're going to post garbage like this. Thanks. --Robb "Men being turned away in doves. Seriously? Just stop..." Alvey Hey Robb, what happens if they turn you away Saturday??? Just askin....
  23. The problem is making locals and the GP mad in general is never good boding for a park in any ways. Just keep in mind the guest you piss off could be the concierge at a hotel with large number of rooms that steers a guest to some other attraction. To be honest Outlaw Run is the ONLY and I mean ONLY reason I purchased season passes this year.
  24. <--- Still hopes for a WindSeeker. Not sure why but I love them, just wish the ride was another minute or two longer.. But then again beating St Louis to the giga coaster punch would be worth it.
  25. So, Coasterwise, what is going to be open next year? I know they were talking about doing rehab on Twisted Twins and T2. But the question is, will they be open initially? Personally I don't know that I am excited about a rehab on T2 Vekoma SLC's kinda suck compared the the B&M. Something about being slammed against the restraint in the front car while waiting for last couple to catch up.
