  1. Someone doesn't like the maintenance crew at Dorney, a first gen Intamin drop tower and now an Invertigo - I hope they get paid overtime. If CGA's "new attraction" is a Windseeker I'll be spectacularly unimpressed.
  2. Maybe one of those Tijuana Shopping Tours might be the go, where they drop you off on the main drag and then you can do what you want. If the locals don't get you, I'd be wary of the L & T Mouse and the Pinfari Death Machine. I'm not sure if the donkey shows are endorsed by TPR.
  3. Well okay "advisors" on my behalf can you advise SFMM to get Expedition Ge-Force, T-Express, and Maverick style coasters - thanks.
  4. It seems logical, based on the things they have added in the past. A drop tower seems kind of blah when compared to their other additions. I'd love to see a new generation launch coaster at SFMM, perhaps starting at the top flying down the mountain.
  5. Is there any news as to whether Invertigo is headed to the junkyard or are they going to try and sell it, or as discussed already - relocate it? I've been assuming they're just going to junk it.
  6. ^I don't doubt they can build a drop tower but my question is would it require greater re-inforcement of the structure, i.e. greater cost. Possibly a greater enough cost that it wouldn't be worth doing, for instance, it's not something they can exactly market as a maquee ride for starters (they can try, get the Alton Towers publicity team in to do it).
  7. ^Elissa, a tour with Holiday World, Liseberg, and Gronalund would be fine thanks. Great park and Stockholm is a beautiful town. I love inside the park, they not only have the amusement park but clubs and pubs as well. So you can be an adult and child in the same place. But I don't think I'll do Insane after a bottle of wine again.
  8. I presume that's Orchestral Manouvres In The Dark, if so, that's amazing they're still gigging in 2011. Why am I thinking of Jon Cryer now? Was looking forward to but have since seen: Amanda Palmer from the Dresden Dolls on Australia Day (1/26), she was amazing - she can be poignant, funny, crass, self-deprecating, and just plain bonkers all in the space of a minute. Great singer and instrumentalist.
  9. ^Good point, I forget about that, it was the same in Japan with Steel Dragon I believe. Two things SFMM doesn't have that are glaring omissions in my mind - drop ride/spaceshot (would earthquake issues make this relatively more complicated to build for SFMM to do a big one?), and an out and back launched coaster (Maverick please).
  10. I'm not saying they wouldn't, but I think Cedar Point is an exception, I mean how many parks have two hypers? I'd be as stoked as anyone if SFMM did put in a second hyper-style coaster, I'd be ecstatic for an i305 or Ride of Steel layout. Though the general public might not see a second hyper as being that different from Goliath. I mean they seem to think Apocalypse is a re-themed Psychlone. It's yet to be confirmed that RM Treatment will be awesome but I'm optomistic. I'll mosey on down to SFOT in July and confirm for myself. Even if RM wasn't amazing, I still think it would be a big improvement for Colossus.
  11. I think Invertigo's are rising rapidly up the endangered coaster species list. If King's Island decided to follow suit, Invertigo fans will have to travel to a deserted field in the middle of nowhere in Denmark, er - I mean Sommerland Syd, to get their Invertigo fix. Here's hoping it will lead to something decent in it's place, or perhaps relocation of all of CGA's better rides to other parks, and the crappy ones to Michigan's Adventure.
  12. When I first went to CP in 2003 MF had great air on the two big hills and the fly past the queue, but I have to say on my last visit in 2007 it was just crawling over the hills. But the lack of airtime at SFMM needs to addressed, we need action. Though it would be hard for SFMM to add a coaster type that yields great airtime - they already have a hyper and two woodies. Two of those coasters (Goliath and Terminator Salivation/Apolocalypse/Whatever) have many qualities but not great amounts of airtime. Maybe a Maverick style coaster with lots of bunny hills among it's elements could be the answer, get to it Six Flags. I am being tongue in cheek but I'd happy if they added an ejector airtime monster.
  13. The sad thing about the new Superman for me, is that even though I live in Australia, I'll probably ride the SFMM version before the Australian Dreamworld version Tower of Terror. I haven't been to Dreamworld since 2003, but they've been very stubborn when it comes to adding decent attractions. I guess I've been too spoiled with so many great parks on TPR tours. I think it's a huge improvement for Superman, far preferable to the forwards launch IMO. I remember riding Tower of Terror last in 2003 - in my coaster-impoverished, pre-credit whoring days - thinking this would be so much better if you were face down on the drop. Although these new additions are wonderful, I still think SFMM (and California for that matter), needs much more ejector airtime. I'd never even heard the term "airtime" until I first visited US parks outside of California and Florida.
  14. Nice, looking forward to seeing more. Do we have a challenger to Fuji-Q in the operations department?
  15. That's very disappointing for someone who looks like they're having sex with a coaster in their avatar, hopefully TPR will fix that for you this year. I think I've only ridden one Wacky Worm where I wasn't on a TPR tour, and that was at Alton Towers (I think a couple of days after TPR had pillaged the place).
  16. ^CF/SFI merger - that's wack. Looks like Dick is limping off to retirement, if Q had their way he'd be sweeping the midway at Cedar Point this summer. I'm glad too that they're focusing on paying down the debt.
  17. Hopefully your cry for help will be heard by someone suitably qualified. Not that I wouldn't ride a Wacky Worm, if I happened to be at a park that had one.
  18. Luna Park Sydney - Not by a long shot, in fact it is probably the worst park I have been to. It's in an amazing spot in Sydney but it's so barren for rides, a wild mouse, a small number fo flats though it does have a 1920's big fun house with wooden slides and rickety stairs and all this old school cool stuff.
  19. ^Why would you want to be rollercoaster, you may get ridden by ACErs - the horror. I dream of SROS at SFNE but it has an enclosed first drop like Ghostrider. I also dream of a completely enclosed coaster like going through rooms in a big house. I'd love if they turned Poseiden's Fury into a coaster, have it zipping around through all the chambers, just put Potter on it and corporate will sign off as quickly as they can get their pen out.
  20. The evil geniuses behind the Volare running the Coney Island Cyclone? They might not think Cyclone is painful enough already. On the Cyclone trains, I like them, they seem really well padded which is very helpful, and they are classic. I don't know if it's the track that makes it such a rough ride, in 2008 the train seemed to be bouncing on the track like bang, bang, bang - rather than the classic jackhammering that wood lovers crave. I say Zamperla add as many credits as possible, I'm going to need them this July/Aug if I want to make 500.
  21. I didn't know it was that bad in Texas, to top that off I have to go through customs at Dallas Fort Worth Airport. Should I purchase lubricant in a container under 100ml for the body cavity examination in case they ran out?
  22. Sorry, I should have been clearer with mey statement. I don't doubt it will be open by July, but hopefully it won't have any significant downtime after opening. With my limited knowlegdge of coaster mechanics I can't see why, it's a relatively simple out and back coaster.
  23. Given they're hunting Cheetahs on the other side of the park, how about "Baby Seal Clubbers", or for a more African flavor "Ivory Poachers", or "Impala Impalers". Maybe they could highlight lesser known animals like "Meerkat Mayhem" or "Ostrich Overload". Or just plain horny animals: "Randy Rhinos", "Humping Hippos". Cedar Fair naming dept on the line: "Deck Mouse", oh thanks guys, moving along. "Zebra Tracks", "Jungle Swinger", "Leaping Leopard", "Credit"....
  24. I don't plan on getting a blu-ray player, there just isn't any real value add for me personally in doing it. I'm at the point where I have a PVR (Hard Drive Recorder) with a USB and I'll just keep every video I have on a large portable hard drive.
  25. ^I had amazing back-row night rides on Hades in 2007 but I haven't ridden it since, though I have no idea if I'll ever get back to the Dells. Ring-ring "Hello Rocky Mountain Coasters how may I help you?" The candidate list grows...
