400th trip on Boardwalk Bullet
lorddoonga replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode it the first week it opened on a slow crawling Thursday. I remember my first experience as "rough" Some were saying that it wasnt rough but aggressive. Now I believe that the first drop to the second big drop was both rough and aggressive to the degree that the next day I felt whiplash in my neck and left rib cage. The bay side had some bad slamming I do remember. I went to ride yesterday and it was closed for repairs..... bummer : ( -
Neat. The restaurant workers ban together when its slows down and ride numerous times. They're like high-five'in each other and losing their pens while riding. One rolled past my foot as I got in the car. Edit: I rode in the seat (8L) right behind this 6ft 250 lb. guy, football player physique, he just barely fit into the car mold. Man alive... THAT WAS A SMOOTH RIDE!

Today sunny, clouds, and calm winds. Crowds picked up towards late afternoon/early evening. No rain and 93 degrees. Train was running okay. No one said how fast it was going. But when not fully loaded it crawls over 3rd hill. I rode the left side the whole time and I must say it was alot better than the right side. I think I rode what ... 20 times??? I feel fine. No major pains. No headache. Just tired. Seat #1L, 5L, 8L, 10L, 12L were great. I never noticed but coming out of the 3rd hill as it bottoms out, the track has like a mini-kink or zig-zag in it.

When I rode Bullet I too said it was rough. But rough doesn't necessarily mean bad or making critical statements. I should've said the word "aggressive" instead, so that some won't say that it was like "complaining" or that it was a "complaint". Bullet's roughness is not to the degree where I will never ride it again. I still had a really great time. If I had a great time then how would I be complaining at the same time? Now that I know which seat will work best for me (#8R) and how to handle the track by using upper-body strenght, I will continue to enjoy Bullet's roughness. Today I only have slight discomfort in my back right side. I think it's time to ride again! It's addictive right???

The camera is after that drop that goes under the station, it is under the station. Safe to start your pose at the bottom of that drop. -GG Funny story. Before the official remover of the chain off the entrance gate worker opened the ride, I walked over to the freeze frame window. It was snapshot of a little girl with her head bent at 45 degrees (???) with a comatose look on her face but with her eyes open.

If you were complaining about the roughness with it dry...you probably don't want to ride it wet. I thought the turns were actually less rough wet, but the bigger elements were much more rough! After 101 rides and being very sore on Friday (which I have posted about before) I don't have any soreness at all today. Its not really that bad, and I rode in the back seat for my 13 of my last 14 in a row. Admittedly, I do fill up the seat a bit more than most! -GG Well that's hopeful and looking forward to a wet run! Isn't that freeze frame camera somewhere in the middle of the course in a shaded area?

My neck pain is all gone. Just my ribs are a little sore now. Good nights rest will take care of that. What does the ride feel like when a fresh application of oil/grease is applied to the track on a hot sunny day? Today when I rode it when it was dry but it was movin' fast, I guess. No mph announcements. I bet it picks up speed and rides smooth when the train is max'd with persons near 200 lbs or better.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Boardwalk Bullet in Kemah Bay TX. My neck and right side ribs hurt now. It was fun ! -
I rode Bullet today approx 8-10 times... lost count. Today, Kemah was rather quiet and non-busy for a usual weekday. My overall rating is still up in the air..and I wont rank it until it hopefully smooths itself out. I must say it was very jerky. First time I got on was the last seat. 1st drop was great. But the right turn leading into the S-curve around towards the bay was painful. Know what whip-lash is?? Well, I got gut-lashed, every single time I rode it. First seat was okay. You can still get a decent ride on seat #7 and #8. After several rides I finally stopped bracing myself with my legs and feet against the car. I just let them rest comfortably right out in front of me and held on tight . That was the trick for me not to get gut-lashed! Your gonna need some serious upper body strength to keep from being knocked around. I hope whoever is 48" inches doesn't get hurt ! LOL .... enjoy ?!?!?
