  1. Has anyone ever "Earth Googled" Kemah to see if Bullet is visible?
  2. nada mas : (, you try calling for an update, hey everybody start jamming the phone lines lol
  3. I called the Boardwalk admin office (281-535-8100). The receptionist replied, " We haven't decided if we're going to do another test run today." Screaming manic (maniac ?? sp) enthusiasts might knock it down LOL
  4. It'd be nice to know if the other train was on the track in the station house prepped to go.
  5. Yep. Thats why I've been saying its probably gonna be the biggest suprise of the entire ride.
  6. It's Tuesday still early in the week. If they can make that one adjustment that sends it over. Then use Wed-Fri to give the crash test dummies the test run of their lives. Where and what happened to the first DIS-assembled train? That might give us an indication what they might do today.
  7. You know todays weather forecast showed no rain until Sat-Sun. Would be great to test run this thing w/o rain interference. Then on the weekend open it and let riders enjoy it between rain showers.
  8. God forbid they do any major track reprofiling. If it had just maybe additional XXX mph to make it around the 3rd hill. Or as the worker said yesterday, they might need to make a 1/4" adjustment opening the track where it gets "stuck". My first doubting impression when I viewed Bullet in person was exactly the lift leading into the 3rd hill. If you can go there and have a look, you can catch a view at the neighbors house behind Bullet, their driveway adjacent to Bullet and ends at the structure. Looking at where the fences meet (the corner) look above the fence through telephone wires and tree branches and you will get a look at the track approaching the 3rd hill. It takes a small steep dive and right into a steep ascent. When I saw that I wondered how in the world was Bullet going to dive below "sea level" so to speak and successfully make it all the way up to the turn around. The third hill will be big suprise drop whenever they get it going.
  9. .... so "Poncho" was right after all lol.... and last week an english speaking worker shouted, "thats some 16,000 lbs that will be racing the track."
  10. "Coaster -"They've stopped at the top of the hill before. I think there is video somewhere of workers pushing TTD over the top." Do you happen to know the link? "Fisherman -"Oh how depressing...and it must be kinda embarrassing for the designers. I wonder what is really going on? Maybe it is windier up there than they anticipated? The wind off the Bay can be pretty gusty. Is it common to have to tweak the track guage...that much??? Oh boy... We were gonna go out there but thought for sure they wouldn't risk another failure with all the crowds watching...oh well... -Derek" I read that back in the day, the gulf south wind caused Texas Cyclone to valley on the second hill enough to the point that they modified the track and lowered it some 2 ft.
  11. Wow...I thought the trains normally weighed 2 tons total. Maybe translation mix-up looooooooool otherwise would destroy structure
  12. I would liked to have seen that. I wanted to take a picture from the neighbor backyard as it comes down the 3rd hill.
  13. Worker said each car weighs in at 2,000 lbs. x 6 cars = 12,000 lbs. Imagine trying to push it over the hill. I think the rest of the ride should perform okay.
  14. The wife and I spoke with one of the hispanic workers. He told us that a crane would be used to take it (2nd train) off the track. He also mentioned that they were going to make a 1/4 inch (I guess under and not over correcting) widening adjustment of the track right there where it stopped. He said the time that it should take for bullet to leave the lift hill and reach the 3rd hill should only be 16 seconds. It was so hot and humid out there he was sweating up a storm. His last comment to us was, "We're fixing to have a meeting."
  15. I was out at Kemah today with out of town guests. When we left the lift chain was operational. Police cars were at the location. Ahhhhhh... another test run. Thanks to clouds in the background you can see the train once again on the same turnaround as last time, only this time stopped by anti-roll back track. Sigh.... Anti-roll back works
  16. I seriously doubt the company building the ride would leave before it is running.... Not being mean but the past few days the people working on the ride are mexicans, Maybe locals. The crew building the structure might be gone. You are right. Vlemicks crew was comprised 1/2 mexican and 1/2 canadian nationals, with a few Americans. Possibly some of Vlemicks stayed behind to ensure a job complete and well done.
  17. I heard Vlemicks crew already left... as in adios. Whoever is working now has to be Kemah rides-maintenance crew. The ones in blue colored work coveralls.
  18. I want to be there when it opens. Hope it wont have a lot of fanfare that day. Just walk on in less than 5 mins. Get my Bullet buzz-on and t-shirt!
  19. How much you wanna bet that by NEXT WEEKEND it will be up and running.. just watch. If it ain't runnin'... Tillman ain't makin' money...
  20. Makes perfect sense if you ask me. On the day of the test run, one Saltgrass waitress told me that they were hoping to test run it "last night". I see a common thread there. You might be on to something Who wants to go down there right now and meet up to watch if its true?
  21. This one of the best photos I've seen taken for a dusk shot! Congrats. I took your photo and auto-balanced the color and sharpened its resolution... oooooooooh maaaaaaaan ... a real beauty indeed.

  23. I really liked hearing the train climbing the hill and making the turnaround. It sounded sooooooooo nice and new.
  24. Gravity Group designers Mike and Corey shreik frantically, "... this wasn't supposed to happen!" Poor fellas', my heart goes out to the them.
