If he wants a job, let him be. Many people live a great life without doing that much at school and working hard. And even better - some can do both without a problem - like me. Getting a job was the best thing I've ever done.

I watched some of it but a lot of the stuff was the 'same old same old'. The opening ceremony was good though.

Maccas and other fast food places are where a lot of people over here start. It really depends what you want to do. Are you into fashion? Then apply at some stores that sell fashion-related stuff. Are you into cars? Then see if some places are looking for people to wash cars? The world's yours pretty much - although do keep in mind some places do have age limits and 14 is still pretty young. But it doesn't hurt to ask.
