  1. ^ Why? Because the original layout was so awe-inspiring, of course.
  2. Yes, it's nice to hear that things are slowly starting to improve for all of us...bring on spring/summer along with some good coaster riding!
  3. Hopefully whatever they're doing will improve the loading cycle. Those restraints are terrible because they have to hit all green lights in order to start the cycle. I appreciate that the lights are there for safety reasons obviously, but it just isn't a very efficient set-up, IMO. It's inevitable that for every dispatch, they have at least two people with a restraint light that won't turn green - so you have the ride op's reefing down on the restraint in order to get the green light. This has happened every time that I have ever ridden The Claw and that's why I won't ride it if the line looks to be more than a 15 minute wait...because that 15 minute wait easily turns into a 1/2 hour (or more) because of the long loading cycle. In terms of the ride itself though, I love it - great fun!
  4. ^ Haven't heard of that...and this is what is currently posted on their website (standard policy with the exception of the fluffy, fluffy bunny, obviously - lol):
  5. This looks like a ton of fun (even more-so than the Skyrocket II). Thanks for sharing, Hanno!
  6. On the plus side, it looks like that's for a 22 oz. beer, which isn't quite as criminal as it would be for a 12 oz beer. I would pay that for a 22 oz. Leinenkugel shandy if it was really hot (and if they didn't offer any craft IPA's)...but I would pass on paying that for a Miller Lite - even if my eyeballs were melting.
  7. 40' drop off an 85' tall tower. Still world's tallest, but don't get your hopes up for that crazy! Seems like it's been forever since a park has built a major rapids ride, so I like this announcement. I agree. And given that it's a Busch park, the theming will undoubtedly be awesome. It will give that area something new and refreshing...now if they could do something about that mostly uninhabited area at the right front quadrant of the park. Granted I know that they have pavilions in that area along with Wild Arctic, but it just seemed so desolate around the Bayside Arena area. Seems like it would be a great area to throw in a few decent flat rides...or another great coaster at some point.
  8. I hope that you get well REALLY soon, Bert...you have been through a lot lately (like us). But finally on to some really, really great news...Michael was released from the hospital on Thursday - just one day shy of six straight months!!! We still need to get him re-acclimated with living back at home, but we're off to a good start despite him having a difficult time climbing the three steps in the garage to get him into the house. The visiting nurse was here for the first time today and will be coming on a daily basis along with PT & OT at least a couple of times a week until he is strong enough to manage on his own. I'll be taking some vacation days from work to be here with him...but I couldn't be happier after the six months of living hell that we have both been through. I was really starting to wonder if this day would ever come! Thanks to you guys in here...you really helped me through it all with your caring, encouragement and support!!!
  9. The whole area of Breakers and CP Shores looks so much better! And to add in a new bar along with the awesomely-named Muffleheads, I will likely be spending more time at the water park in the summer. The mango/blood orange shandy certainly sounds intriguing.
  10. OH MY GOD...Hall & Oates is in the shed!!! Looks like a really great ride - sure hope that it will be properly maintained so that it will be a smooth ride for a long time to come. Yeah...four hours though...yikes. Think we'll wait a while before we head down I-71 to ride this one.
  11. What??? Not even multiple, back to back.....cocktails???? (By the way, I too, was excited about there being a boat trip along with all the rides!) If Michael and I head to Camper Village...erp, I mean...Lighthouse Point, there will be more than just ONE cocktail at the motor home. Cocktail hour implies at least one hour of cocktails...or sometimes two or three!
  12. While I love Storm Runner, I'm not the hugest fan of that slow barrel roll. Love every other aspect of the coaster, but I'm just not a fan of those slower paced/hang time inversions like found on SR, Wicked Cyclone or Hydra - they just seem more uncomfortable & awkward than they are fun - more likely to get positive reaction from viewers than actual riders. I would prefer to either take the inversions at a snappy pace or eliminate them altogether and throw in another air time hill in it's place. Caveat/Disclaimer: Before someone takes offense because I said something negative about any of these coasters, know that I like them all...just not that one slow roll.
  13. Wow...some great views from up there. A great addition for sure!
  14. The Comfort Inn across the street wasn't bad...and was quite reasonable in terms of price. I wanted to think that we paid about $100 or so on a summer weeknight. Their site says that it's an eight minute walk to the park, but when we went it was like 150 degrees so we drove over and got the nice preferred parking that they have for platinum pass holders.
  15. To be honest, I had a pizza slice at CP's Pizza Patio in between Raptor and the Antique Cars one time and it was actually pretty good! Maybe I just hit it at the right time and got a fresh slice, but it was actually pretty damned tasty for park pizza. Take into account that this was many moons ago so things may have changed for the worse since that time. Other places where I have had a decent slice: Knoebels (Cesari's obviously), Kings Island (LaRosa's), DelGrossos & KD (Victoria Gardens).
  16. That Hoptropolis looks awesome!!!!
  17. I would rate this ditty as one of the most overlooked, totally sick and kick-a$$ Pink Floyd songs EVER recorded....crazy to think that even the casual Pink Floyd fan has probably never even heard this lil' gem before.
  18. Journey, Tower (which is absolutely the best looking one), Nightmare themed Haunted Mansion, curry, honey, and all of the other freaking popcorn, amazing theming, those damned crazy-awesome smart-toilets, people not acting like dicks...I need some of this action in the near future!!!
  19. Can't believe that went right over BOTH of our heads!!!
  20. Glad to see both wooden coasters getting some major TLC. Thanks for sharing!
  21. On top of everything that has been going on health-wise with my partner, Michael (which has been nothing short of a living nightmare for 4+ months), I have had the septic plug and had to get a new pipe installed coming out of the basement due to tree root invasion, brakes and tires crapped on the Rav 4, the snowblower officially sh%t the bed during a snowstorm two weeks ago, and then the coup de grace....the furnace died last Saturday. Cracked heat exchanger = new, very expensive furnace. When does life start getting a little better here...WTF.
  22. ^^ I agree, David...I really needed this laugh tonight.
