A free pin just by getting one of these critteria? Hm... Let's see if I managed to get the list done. First ever post on TPR, long ago. First ever post on The Big Mike Road Show, here. Half a check? Nyah.... Ah, can't check that. Sorry. That I can check! See my last link. Actually, I wanted to meet a TPR gang consisting of Robb, and the opportunity presented itself during the Scandi trip. I asked what the definate date was when they'd be in Liseberg but no one seemed to answere. Then came an excuse: "Anyone else want to come out and get thier 'Take a picture with Big Mike' quest completed??" So I asked you and that's my first post on this topic, which lead to an answere, which lead to a fun 3 hours with a small TPR gang. Yet, I haven't read the whole Road Show. So, that is worth, what... 1½ pins? /Edward PS. Any Londoners out there? I'm gonna take a trip to London as of 1st to 6th July, and if weather permits may check out Thorpe Park. Anyone wanna meet me? Say hello? Introduce me to your strange cultures?

^ Ok, I think I will, seeing as I spent most of my time with him. Ok, my day started off with being an hour late. Was aiming to be at the gates as they opened (13:00), but got there nearer to 14:00. Went in, got my ride ticket, and had lunch. As I was waiting for my food, I met up with a friend of mine, and as I was eating I happen to see the Alveys betting on the meatslicer. I went out and greated them, and explained what HUS&HEM was about, sort of. Talked a bit more, got a picture, and then I had to get back to my food. After that, me and my friend went and rode a few things at the same time as I was keeping an eye open for TPR people. Problem, Robb wasn't wearing a bag-of-crap, nor were many others, and I didn't remember the color from the photos, so I kept looking for blue bags. Also dark t-shirts with Theme Park Review in large colorful letters on them. After spending some time with my friend, riding, enjoying Icecream, and then she had to go home at 19:00. So I decided to continue my hunt for TPR groups, and eventually I found the Big Mike Group having icecream. And I kinda stuck with them hoping I would bump into Robb again because I wanted to talk to him some more. And I did, at closing time by Balder. :S I've had dreams of meeting Robb, but each time he was very busy and I got a few words with him before he disappeared. So these 2 meetings with him this Monday sort of felt like one of those dreams. But it wasn't a total disappointment. But now, lets get on with some of the photos I took of that day. /Edward FarTooFewClips.wmv And now for the few clips that I took with my camera. TPR Group Take-Over of the DAIM Wheel! HE is BIG MIKE! AND HE IS COMING RIGHT FOR ME!!!!!! THE MAN! THE MYTH! THE LEGEND! Seeing as the onride photo thingy on the launched freefall tower was gone, I thought I'd be it, and got a very lovely shot of Lou. Then I found half the gang. Turns out there were only 48 people. Thought it was 100 people on the trip and was wondering so many and not bumping into one of them. Me and the Family, just outside of HUS&HEM.

Hi! I was thinking of making a little post of my day with you at Liseberg together with my pics and the few film clips, but I don't know where to put this nice little post. Shall I make a post here, among the official Scandi TR, or make a new thread? Have put this question in the official thread, but they seem a little too busy to answere.

Hi! Popping in to say that I have had my taste of a TPR Trip, sort of. I see what it looks like in a park quite a few hours after ERT (like 7pm), and got to talk to some of the members. Was hoping that I could talk more with Robb, but ended up following the Big Mike Group consisting of Lou, Dave, Joe, and I can't remember who else. Spent most of my time talking with Mike. Got some photos here and there, but not sure where to post them. Mike's Road Show, here, or a new thread (7 photos and 5 clips). And yes, I shall upload the "RAW" footage (2200px large JPGs and full films) to Robb one of these days. Though a question: Can I upload them to a TPR FTP? Just that things are getting a little iffy about the server I once used and if it should go down before Robb gets home, that would be a bit of a shame. :S The whole thing is about a third of a gig Rared. But I'll leave you with one pic just to get everyone jealous. /Edward Me and the family.

Holy cow! First it looked like it was just gonna roll out nicely (or non powered at all), but then suddenly it just went off as if it was just a marble in a pinball machine. And over the hill just like THAT? Looks like a Super Chain Cheat in RCT3 made real! /Edward

OMG! LOL! That was the BEST! That you actually was allowed to be the Speed regulator, and managed to get a complete "safe" circuit out of it. Also, I thought such faces (left) were only possible in cartoons or After death.

Great TR. Now just a confusion. On Danish TV they said you're coming to Liseberg tomorrow (9th), yet you are saying here that your next stop is Bakken. Is it half day here and there, or what? /Edward

If you are gonna be taking more stills than video, I'd suggest you'd get a camera that is primarily for stills but has video as a (super) bonus. I have a Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2 that can take nice large images and nice video. However, if you think you're gonna be doing alot of filming in the future (producing your own movies), maybe get a fancy video camera that can take large frames at super speeds and then just extract one frame here and there. Heh, go through hours of footage at a park and say "That's good! Oh, that's nice as well! Oh, if only I was more steady that would've been cool too." and after all of that you start cutting together your own Video Trip Report or Coaster Art and upload that. That's the tip I can give you. Hope your Camera hunting goes well. /Edward PS. Don't forget to look up reviews on the different models so you can pick just the right thing for what you need.

Theme Park Review's 2009 Trips Update Thread!
Edward replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If only I had the money... Oh well, I suppose I could meet up with you in Liseberg and see what the gang looks like before I do anything... rash? /Edward "there's always next year" ... hopefully -
Actually, I've had quite a few dreams like that. Only, it wasn't exactly words. It was more of a sharp noise or big action. Sometimes, nothing (that I can remember) and I still jump. Though there was this one time when I fell asleep on the train and I was having a spin around different people and subjects when suddenly there was this girl that called out my name. I woke up and found that I was pulling into my station. Anyone believe in guardian angels? /Edward

I had a bit of a fun dream. I was in someone's bedroom with 3-4 other people. I suddenly recognised one of them as being Robb Alvey. I asked "Scuse me... Robb Alvey of Theme Park Review?" "Yeeees..? And you are-" "Edward, also of Theme Park Review. Well, not really of, just member. Haven't done enough to be of or something..." yada, bada, waeha... I then proceed to ask some questions, I think about the upcoming trips. Not sure if I was successful, or as what usually happens in dreams the answeres just pass you by, but we seemed to be happy about the conversation. Then I was sad, because the dream ended. Would this be a sign of that I'm longing for TPR to come to Liseberg?

Theme Park Review's 2009 Trips Announced!
Edward replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
OMGWTFBBQAndSuch!!! Scandinavia is SO CLOSE! Yet so expensive. Anyways, probably have noticed that I haven't been very active around here so I'm gonna say it here and now what has happened in my life (hope I don't bore you). One day in June, July I signed up for collages, and got in to one of them in Skövde. So I decided to move from Gothenburg to Skövde on the 4th of August, and school started 3-4 weeks later. Also when I moved in I didn't have internet to begin with because I thought it was sort of automatic, but apparently I had to get a modem (and some registering). Ever since, with studies and all, I felt I didn't have the time to get lost in the Trip Reports and pics and vids here and there, plus I felt I had missed alot and thought of taking it all in when I didn't have studies. Now that I live all on my own my budget kinda bounces between 23 000 and 16 000 SEK (3 000 - 2 000 USD). You know, get money for studying, spend money on food and visiting parents every so often. So my option is (unless my parents (and maybe friends) can pitch in) would be that there "Land of the Suspicious" that is rather unfamilliar to me. Been there once, but that was before... well... before. Oh the agony of economi. If the trip TO the meeting place and back home was included in these prices then it'd look cheap. At a guess it would be about 20 000 SEK to and from Texas. Well, at least there will be a chance of meeting you guys at Liseberg (if you are there a full day). Hm... May even see if I can spend a little money on a train trip to Gröna Lund and see you all once more, or something... Hm... Wondering if I can squeaze in a Danish park... No, not sure if I can afford the boat trip and a place to stay over night. Though just out of curiosity for any time I feel like going to Denmark, which park would you recommend? <.< /Edward -
Wow! Taking pictures of fresh new tracks almost straight off the belt. Sounds like a grand idea! Shame I'm on the other side of the waters. Guess I'll just do some strange Photoshop thingy. May not get grand prize, but that's ok because I don't really have the money for travelling expences. Gonna see if I can save up something for a Euro trip, if at all possible. <.<

How many times the same ride in a day ?
Edward replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kanonen, Liseberg... First time: 4 Times! Balder: 4 times in a row I think, then I get sick (limit). Lisebergbanan: Maybe 4 times there as well before getting sick (I don't think I could top crazy... Maybe on a kiddy coaster. ) In one day total? Lost count... -

^ It has had some new painting done. Sort of started last year, but has a definate new coat this year. -
So far it is looking nice. I tried doing a Search for Denmark but the results are blank. However, searching for a park name gave results. Oh, and could you do so that when looking at the pictures the page links are unlinked if one are already on that page. Like with the forum page links in the top-left and bottom-right corner. /Edward

Ok, here's a fun one. I was looking at a night POV of some wooden coaster called... Um... Something Stampeed or Speed. Fun part was that when I right-clicked and dragged on the screen, the view panned to view Robb making silly faces while riding (sometimes holding thinking he was gonna be photographed rather than filmed). Next thing I new I was at this park where the wooden coaster was. The park was called... Actually, wasn't the park's name itself, was more of an area in the park that was called Stan's Cartoon Land or something like it. Anyways, I was walking to where the wooden coaster was gonna be, and found a TPR group among which was Robb and a lovely dressed Elissa. They were all watching some small wooden coasters (1 car only) on twisty wooden tracks (hardly raised off the ground). Later on as the coaster cars were clearing, there was like a flash flood coming our way, but died away as it reached us. Other fun part was that not all the water went away. Some blobs stayed like jelly, then morphed into small elephants and cars, like from some Disney cartoon (Dumbo I think). Also Snow White came into the picture, some other characters, and after a little while they started singing Happy Birthday and dragging out some little girl from the audience that had gathered with the TPR group. They gave the girl a little cake with a candle, and they asked what did her present want to be. She then pulled out from the audience Elissa ("I want her as my present.") While the girl and Elissa were talking, some Disney staff stole the girl's previous dolls as payment or replacement (can't remember, but it was like anything new you get got to get rid of the old). Then suddenly I was waking up to find myself in only underware in a sleeping bag behind a sofa in some living room filled with TPR "campers" next to a balcony door that lead to a 1 meter drop down a steep slope of grass where Robb was lying down at the foot of this slope. As I was pulling my bathing trunks on I saw some of my friends coming from over the hill. Also the landscape was changing. The slope got steeper, and the drop outside the balcony door was growing to 2-3 meters. I jumped out and hurt my ankle, hopped upp the steep slope, stumbled over a girl friend and woke up. Mad enough dream? /Edward

Might be an idea if you looked around for these things... http://www.themeparkreview.com/events/events.htm For future updates, just keep your eyes pealed and the Search Engine warm. /Edward

TPR 2008 Trips! Download the flyers here!
Edward replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hm... These TPR trips are sounding more and more interesting for some strange reason... Maybe something is calling me to get out/travel more. Was thinking of applying to next year's Europe trip but... somehow after reading a bit from page 54 and reading that it's still open, I'm temted. Maybe it is just that the planning space between today and the trip is much shorter. Though it will cut my money quota in half. I just want to ask some questions. 1: The initial deposite. Is it added to or part of the $2600 payment? Meaning, half now, the other half when I meet you? 2: How much longer is the Europe Trip depositing still open, assuming nobody takes the last spots? /Edward
