  1. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT REAL DOLLS! YOU NEED TO GO INTO CHAT NOW!!!
  2. ^ Clearly some people just cannot appreciate the magnitude of a fully clothed, mostly cropped pair of boobs on the front page of a website. --Robb "And yes, you will go blind! CUT THAT OUT!!!" Alvey
  3. Wow! Awesome! Glad to see more of these getting built. --Robb
  4. Hmm..from that video it actually looks like it might be a traveling fair version of the Nautic Jet? It looks like the same manufacturer, or at least a really, REALLY good knock off! Someone, please research this so TPR can ride it!!! --Robb
  5. Awesome! Glad you liked it. It was really fun hanging out with the guys and chatting about coaster "stuff."
  6. What kind of phone is that on the picture ???? An Iphone ??? Yes, Elissa is holding her iPhone in that picture. --Robb
  7. ^ The car doesn't really do that much. Tilts down a bit, but it's mostly the visual experience of the film and set that your in during this part of the ride. --Robb
  8. Which parks are getting Planet Snoopy? I know KD and Carowinds, but which others? Also, Cedar Fair wasn't the company that started building ice shows around Snoopy, that was Knott's and their creative team "back in the day." I'm sure the knowledge and talent of that team came with Knott's when they purchased the company. And while yes, now Cedar Fair creates those shows, I just wanted to give credit where it was due. --Robb
  9. This is going to be a GREAT TRIP REPORT!!! This report is a perfect example of why I encourage as many trip participants as possible to write TR's. Every one is so different and I love seeing the trips from other people's perspective. For the record I *loved* the airplane photos! I was LOLing at all the skymall pictures and the shark, and the Allspark!!! As someone who worked on the Transformers movie for nearly 2 years that caption was both hilarious and horrific for me! Great start Josh! Please do more! --Robb
  10. Yay! Someone got my very obscure reference! --Robb
  11. Our next West Coast Trip update comes from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Bay Area Bash 2009! This update is so huge that it needed it's own page. So you can find the entire update here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=46&linkid=6586 The event was totally awesome! "That's right! We stared out with CAMEL ERT!!!" Then we learned it's probably not a good idea to swing raw meat or babies in front of these dudes. The park brought out a penguin to hang out with TPR. And the night ended with one of the most INSANE ERT sessions in TPR history!!! To see the entire update, click here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=46&linkid=6586 And then come back to this thread and post your comments! Enjoy! --Robb
  12. You also need to keep in mind that Universal Japan went with a watered down version of something very tried and true. Other than adding the music selection system (and let's face it user input option systems have been on rides as far back as Horizons at Epcot) there was nothing complex about Hollywood Dream. If anything I'm guessing the train FX were the most compliated thing on that ride! --Robb
  13. ^ When it comes down to this...it's twenty bucks. Seriously, that is really that much at all when you think about it. The dinner you buy that evening will probably cost about the same. Go to TGI Fridays and buy an appetizer and a soda and you've probably spent close to twenty bucks. If you like the coaster, pay the twenty bucks, get your five rides, go play a round of mini golf, take a few photos, etc. That sounds like a pretty good afternoon to me! --Robb
  14. If you look at your "average public", hell yeah! Your $19.99 pass gets you - 5 rides on the coaster ($5.99 each) 4 Mini-Golf Games ($7.75 each) 1 Log Flume Ride ($5.99) 1 Bumper Boat Ride ($5.99) If you add that all up it would be $73.93 if you purchased just tickets. And if your average public person did all that stuff, it would probably take them a good 2-3 hours. Not a bad deal at all if you consider the price of your average movie theater ticket and a box of popcorn. Now, with buying the pass you get 1/2 off the Skyscraper ride and I would suggest that by buying the pass, the passholder should also get 1/2 off additional ride tickets. That, IMO would be a fair compromise. In that case, if you wanted 10 rides on the coaster it would cost you $34.95. That is still NOT a bad deal at all if you really needed to marathon the coaster. Or maybe for an additional $20 add-on you get unlimited coaster rides, etc. But the $19.99 pass as advertized I think is a very good deal. --Robb
  15. We absoultely will! The main reason why we haven't so far is because some of the earlier CE discs were mastered differently and I need to go through the process of re-mastering for iPhone. It's on the top of my list once we get done with TPR trips this year. I will probably release them in phases (like 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, etc) because it is time consuming to do each one. --Robb
  16. ^ I understand, but you do see where I'm coming from, right? Personally, I'd be totally fine with 5 rides on Avalanche, but then again, I'm not a "marathon rider." It's very rare that I'll take more than 2 or 3 rides on any coaster unless I'm doing filming or it's one of my absoulte most favorite coasters ever. And even then 5 rides is good for me! --Robb
  17. Agreed. I mean, it's one thing to say you'll be posting the review to "theme park sites", but calling us out by name in a complaint letter we had absolutely nothing to do with actually upsets me quite a bit. Now seeing this I feel like I now need to call or write to Brent over at the park and let him know that we weren't associated nor do we personally share the same opinions. We're more than happy to have you post your experiences, good or bad, and we encourage everyone to communicate with parks to share your experiences, but please, PLEASE do not drop our name. I really appreciate that. --Robb "I hope you can understand." Alvey
  18. Just got off a call with Michael Roddy (HHN Show Director) and Oren Koules (co-producer of the “SAW” film series) to discuss the upcoming Saw Maze and everything else Halloween Horror Nights related. First off I want to sent a big thank you to Roddy and Koules for having us on the call, there were many questions asked which was all recorded and I'll post a link to the recording which will appear on the HHN Facebook page soon! As for some notes from the call, here goes - - Roddy feels that Saw is the "perfect fit" for HHN as the film franchise is the current #1 "Halloween Movie" in the theaters. - "When you walk into the maze, you'll be trapped in Jigsaw's Lair. And you the visitor will be the one to set off Billy's traps" Roddy says. - "You'll see traps from ALL the movies - Saw 1 through Saw 6" says Koules, "The Hair Pull, the Reverse Bear Trap, etc," - "We are using lots of great technology like audio triggers, air effects to enhance the immersion of the maze." says Roddy - The maze will be located in the Jaws extended queue area and will include audio FX in the queue, videos playing that will feature moments from Billy's world and the teaser for the upcoming film. - It was confirmed that actor Tobin Bell (Jigsaw from the movie) has recorded lines of dialogue for Universal. Nothing else was said about this though! - In regards to the Usher, guests of the theater will come face to face with this new HHN character both on the streets and in his own maze. He will ensure that all guests are following the rules of the theater! So don't break any! - There will also be an announcement soon about VIP HHN tours that may (or may not) include backstage tours. (Not many details were given) I am also happy to report that a "Full Reveal" press release has gone out and a new video from HHN released! See the full press release below - ---------------------------------------------------------- MODERN HORROR FILMS COME ALIVE AT UNIVERSAL ORLANDO’S HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS For the First Time Ever, Universal Orlando Dedicates its Entire Event to Mega-Horror Films SAW, The Wolfman, Chucky and More Are “Ripped from the Silver Screen” at The Country’s Best Halloween Event ORLANDO, Fla. (August 27, 2009) – A cold, lifeless hand takes your ticket. You’re left with a bone-chilling shiver as you move toward an empty theater seat. The lights dim, voices fade, the film begins. The screen starts to rip apart as the action comes straight for you. The show’s about to begin… For the first time ever, Universal Orlando is devoting its entire Halloween Horror Nights event to bringing horror films to life. All eight haunted houses, all six scare-zones and two live shows will be directly inspired by some of today’s most popular horror films. In another first, guests will experience three powerful mega-horror film concepts live and in-person before seeing them on-screen: “SAW,” the legendary horror series from Lionsgate® and Twisted Pictures, due in theaters with its newest release of “SAW VI” this October; “The Wolfman” from Universal Pictures, in theaters February 2010; and “Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant,” also from Universal Pictures, due in theaters October 2009. There will also be two additional haunted houses inspired by cult horror films. “Our guests are going to feel as if their favorite horror films have left the screen and surrounded them,” said Jim Timon, senior vice president of entertainment for Universal Orlando Resort. “They will come face to face with many of the most disturbing characters in film history. When they leave Halloween Horror Nights, they’ll wish their experience was just a movie.” The terrifying world of “SAW” – one of the most profitable horror franchises to date – will be transformed into a haunted house featuring iconic scenes from the films such as Jigsaw’s lair and the tomb-like bathroom. Guests will come face to face with Jigsaw and also watch as his victims struggle to try and win at his game. Before guests can see the “The Wolfman” on-screen, they will be able to live its horror. In this house they will walk through scenes from the film, joining “The Wolfman’s” alter-ego Lawrence Talbot as he discovers a primal side of himself he didn’t know existed. A world where toys go bad is brought to life in a haunted house inspired by the “Chucky” films. Guests will experience a funhouse lead by the sadistic doll where favorite children’s toys aren’t what they seem. This year’s Halloween Horror Nights will also include dramatic new interpretations of Universal Pictures’ famed Frankenstein and Dracula. Both will be featured in their own houses and both will be more horrifying and intense than ever before. In the Silver Screams haunted house – based on a demented movie theater run by a supernatural usher – guests will experience “Shaun of the Dead,” Universal Pictures’ “The Phantom of the Opera,” Lionsgate®’s “My Bloody Valentine 3D” and more. Two live shows inspired by popular films return this year – the entertaining “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute.” Halloween Horror Nights runs September 25-26, October 1-4, 8-11, 15-18, 21-25 and 28-31. Daily updates and exclusive details on Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights are available on the event’s official Facebook fan page: www.facebook.com/halloweenhorrornightsorlando or search on Facebook for “Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights – Orlando OFFICIAL.” Advance tickets are now on sale for $69.99 plus tax. Tickets can be purchased at www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com or by calling 1-888-467-7677 (HORROR-7). Due to the event’s popularity, tickets for weekend nights are expected to sell out and should be purchased well in advance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB0Q43MJjiQ
  19. OMG! Controversy! It took like 15 pages, but it's finally here! Let the debate begin! --Robb "And this BETTER be as good as the KD restraint debate!" Alvey
  20. Was he wearing a casket?
  21. I'm actually glad someone else noted this too. I don't understand why some places don't want to you to download their videos and ONLY watch it on their server. It's not like Bandwidth should be that huge of an issue anymore. I know when we started developing CoasterTube one of the first things on my list was "user HAS to be able to download the video" and with CT we give the user three different download options! --Robb
