  1. Verrückt slide to finally be torn down after death of Caleb Schwab in August 2016 http://www.kmbc.com/article/verruckt-slide-to-finally-be-torn-down-after-death-of-caleb-schwab-in-august-2016/22132690 KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Years after a 10-year-old boy was killed while riding the Verrückt water slide at Schlitterbahn Water Park Kansas City, Kan. - the slide will finally be torn down. A judge has granted approval for the deconstruction of that ride. In August 2016, 10-year-old Caleb Schwab was killed while riding Verrückt when the raft he was in went airborne. A spokesperson for Schlitterbahn says deconstruction of the ride will proceed in the coming months. The ride has remained largely intact as part of the investigation into Schwab's death. Multiple people have been charged in connection with the incident.
  2. That's awesome! How are rides like Twisted Colossus, X2, etc. running? We are just covering the media event at the moment as that is the focus of today. And with an absolutely CraZy amount of confetti, CraZanity is officially OPEN! According to Evan, the ride is fantastic! We highly recommend coming to the park and taking a spin on it!
  3. You're exactly the kind of person that parks Guest Relations staff HATES! Remind me never to be at a park the same day you are.
  4. For the most part, it's a "good" ride. Like Elissa says there are a couple of good jolts. It's much more tolerable in the front. It's actually one of the few Togo coasters I actually do like mainly because it is so "interesting." I'm sure it has the OTSR's because Japan is so insanely safety conscious and they probably think that riders are more secure that way. But yeah, you almost have to ride it once and get beat up to know where to brace yourself during your second ride. Once you know, it's actually not too bad.
  5. Here's us having some fun on Bandit at Yomiuriland!
  6. So here's my thoughts on this... I've used Fast Lane Plus at Cedar Point many, many times. On busy Saturdays, on lighter weekdays... I've seen FL+ lines that are quite long. And when I see that, I leave and go to another ride. Then I come back later when the line is not as long. Just like anything else in the park, it's all about timing. I've seen that 30-45 minute Fast Lane line at Maverick, but do I stand in it? No. I'll leave and check back a couple of hours later, maybe during a peak meal time like lunch or dinner, and when the line is 10 minutes or less, I'll grab 2-3 rides on it. My other thought is that even if the Fast Lane line is 30-45 minutes, you have to ask yourself "How long is the normal line?" And if the normal line is 90 to 120 minutes, isn't it still better to wait half that time? So it's all how you look at it, plan your day, and choose when to ride. For the record, I've NEVER stood in a Fast Lane line longer than ten minutes over probably 20-30 uses of the system at Cedar Point during various times of the year.
  7. I added the word "Corporate" to this thread title just now to help with future searches.
  8. Please don't tell me I'm wrong on something when you clearly have no clue what you're talking about. And I say with without any due respect to your comments at all. You don't even know how to spell my name correctly. #dumb Chill...its a message board lol. If only the CP execs were this passionate ha. You can leave anytime and no one will miss you.
  9. "Say you're Pepsi, but some kid opens up a lemonade stand 16 hours away from your closest retailer and 34 hours away from your second closest retailer that's only open half the year and closed most weekdays and you go to your investors and blame that kid for a revenue drop that may or may not even be happening". Also, what the f*ck is "Gator Aid"? "Say you're Pepsi..." Just shoot me now.

  11. Disney's lowest attended US park did 3 times the attendance than Cedar Point did in 2017. It would probably take a shift of the ENTIRE annual attendance of Cedar Point for Disney to even take notice. That's just how absurd this whole discussion is.
  12. Yeah sorry I have to agree with Bill on this one. I mean, here in Orlando, Universal isn't even looked at as competition for Disney other than by the Universal fanboys who are convinced that everything Disney does is a reaction to something Universal does, which is a horror show conspiracy theory of itself. But anyway, the whole idea that people are thinking that Disney is in any way competition or responsible in any change of attendance for Cedar Point is beyond the point of being laughable. Even if you can site to me examples of people who have chosen to go to CP over Orlando until my eyes start to bleed, you're just making up facts and figures out of total ignorance. If there is any change of attendance at regional parks in Ohio, Orlando has nothing to do with it. Neither does California or New York or any other "destination" someone may want to blame.
  13. See, interesting that you mention that. When we filmed Dinoconda in China a few years ago, and then again the S&S Prototype Free Spin, I wanted to mount the camera on a fixed part of the chassis to show off how much the ride spins. For whatever reason, the parks that have installed these rides don't ever seem to show that off. They always mount the camera to the spinning ride vehicle which just becomes this blur of spinning that it's impossible to really grasp what the ride does. I've always felt a good mix between the two shots really sells the ride. I don't know if parks just hadn't thought about doing that or people didn't like that angle, but I always wondered why we were the only ones to mount cameras like that to 4D coasters. Not saying that I know more than the parks when it comes to filming rides, but.... well... let's be honest... most parks are pretty clueless when it comes to filming their own rides!
  14. It frustrates me reading how you had such a great visit to the park only because in order for you to have such a great visit I had to deal with an insane amount of frustrations including, but not limited to: Standing in their guest services window line for over four hours during the course of our visit due to completely incompetent customer service staff, not being able to exit or re-enter the park without paying another full entry (which later was explained why and we were able to re-enter if we lied and told them we were going to our hotel), having to actually fight to get those partial refunds for the express passes (you should see the text message exchange I had with the communications rep, it's shocking the park is allowed to interact with guests paying thousands of dollars this way), rides that were completely closed for the entire day not communicated at the front entrance of the park, being given the wrong tickets after I waited hours in line only to be told that they might not be able to exchange them even though we paid for different tickets and Universal admitted it was their mistake, etc, etc... There is more, but I'll stop there. You get the idea. Let's just say I'm happy to hear you had a great experience as a guest. As a tour organizer, this set of days completely sucked for us and Universal Japan was by far the worst park of the trip that we had to deal with, and we went to Fuji-Q on this trip. (Who was amazing, BTW!) Sorry, to derail your trip report, but I just felt it was important to add that in. I was NOT impressed with Universal Japan this visit. Operations and guest services took a complete nose dive since our past visits.
  15. We interrupt the daily flow of this update to bring you an absoultely batshitcrazy video of a coaster we rode during the trip! Enjoy!
  16. Our next day we were back at Tokyo Disneyland! The way the multi-day tickets work at Tokyo Disney Resort is if you are doing more than two days, you HAVE to choose which park you want to do which day, and then after two days, your ticket becomes a park hopper. You are not allowed to hop parks in the first two days and have to dedicate which day you will do which park. They do this to control attendance. Since there are 9.2 million people who live in just Tokyo alone, this is a way they help the parks to avoid overcrowding. Currently on the monorail on our way to Tokyo Disneyland! Yay we are here! Since Tokyo Disney uses the more classic "paper Fast Pass" system, I'll collect everyone's park tickets and go run and get a Fast Pass for everyone! These two videos are just a small example of the insane efficiency displayed at Tokyo Disney. If the US non-Disney amusement parks could even do 10% of whatever it is Tokyo Disney does to accomplish this, our parks would be run so much better! [twitter] [/twitter] [twitter] [/twitter] And yes we had an awesome ride on Space Mountain! Random castle photo! Another Haunted Mansion scrim! That is the second one of these I've seen this month! (Phantom Manor currently has one up, too!) On a busy Saturday at Tokyo Disneyland we’ve already ridden Pooh, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pinocchio, and are currently holding FastPasses for Monsters Inc and Big Thunder! Not bad for it only being 10:32am! When we arrived at Monsters Inc we were given these “English translation” cards so we would understand the ride since it is all in Japanese! These are super cool! For some reason after riding Space Mountain I really REALLY want a CocaCola!!! I have no idea what it is that made me want this so badly! And yes, even the vending machines at Tokyo Disney are amazingly themed! As part of the 35 Happiest Celebration they had these random "High Five Lanes" filled with Cast Members to bring joy and happiness to everyone in the park! Watch the video below! [twitter] [/twitter] More of these cool Mickey statues. This one has a dragon! Ooooh! One of these day maybe Tokyo Disneyland will update their Fantasyland to include the newer looking version of Dumbo. [twitter] [/twitter] [twitter] [/twitter] Beautiful day here at Tokyo Disneyland! Greetings from Camp Woodchuck! I just love all the random streetmosphere and show elements they have added to the 35 Happiest Celebration! This woman was doing back flips.... This guy was break dancing! And watch this cute video clip below with the piano cycle guy... [twitter] [/twitter] I just love the way the Japanese line up for parades. All very organized and polite, with the parade mats that they sit on and umbrellas when it's hot. No pushing, shoving, or arguing to find a spot. The rest of the world could really learn a lot from this culture. Monsters Inc. Hide and Go Seek is a very original attraction for Tokyo Disney. You play “Flashlight Tag” on your adventure with Mike, Sulley, and Boo! The ride is great and features lots of physical sets and animatronics. No screens. And it's sort of adorable, also! Another random castle shot! Sunset behind Tokyo Disneyland! [twitter] [/twitter] If you go to Tokyo Disneyland without getting one of these amazing Mickey Mouse waffles, shame on you! You’ve missed out on one of the parks E-Ticket attractions!!! [twitter] [/twitter] This is VERY difficult to convey in pictures but... 2 minutes ago there were THOUSANDS of people all out here sitting down watching the parade. The parade ended. They all got up... And there is NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF TRASH ON THE GROUND! And we'll end this update with a picture of a British dude holding a squishy watermelon. Why? Why not! Now, POST YOUR COMMENTS!!!! After all, we took the time to write this report, the least you can do is post something nice about it! Click HERE for Part Twenty Six of TPR's Japan 2018 Trip! 17. There is no real benefit other than simplicity. If you are using the same email address on your Facebook account, for example, as you are on your TPR username, then you can just click the FB button to log in and it will log you in automatically without having to put in a password. If you use different email addresses, then no, this doesn't help at all. Hope that explains things!
  18. So you may have noticed something new on the TPR Forum login page. You can now register/login with your social account! Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are currently supported! Please let us know if this new feature is working for you. NOTE: For previously existing TPR Forum accounts, this will only work if your email address that you have currently attached to your TPR Forum account is the same as on your social account. If it is different, it will want to create a new account for you when you login.
  19. Thanks for yet another AMAZING report you guys! So happy we have people we can trust on the West Coast to cover these events!
  20. Interesting to see that the shuttle loop was coming from Toshimaen. When we rode that one in 2004 it was a very good shape. Makes me wonder if it might turn up someplace else knowing that 10+ years later it was still available to be installed in another park.
  21. Careful what you wish for! During “Chip N Dale’s Summer Splash” they have the two characters on a boat with a firehose spraying down anyone within reach! lol
