  1. I don't know what to think. I got my passes for the first time ever this year and I'm enjoying them. Look at all these posts. It really matters to people that things like the falls are back on and look at how beautiful it looks. Sure we want the BIG rids but we don't want to lose what we grew up with. Hell a refurbished #3 car on Goldrusher? What the hell are they gonna do next? Remove old gum from the ground? The Park keeps looking better and better. Great up date Robb. Thanks.
  2. I rode Ghostrider a few weeks ago and although it is an angry coaster I don't think it is too rough.I have only been on our local woodies but when you ride Colossus over at SFMM you might have to wear a mouth guard and a kidney belt. I'm with you, paying for that swing is crap. I hate when parks do that. Your report is great thanks for posting.
  3. I was there this Saturday too and it was packed. It was a little tough with rides being shut down. There was a great and wonderful thing over at Goldrusher. A complete and refurbished #3 train. It looked and rode like it did in 1971. (Yes I was riding it in 1971) Also the covered car at Revolution is a refurbished ( or maybe new?) car.You can see the wheels and the frame and it looks nice. Thanks SFMM for putting money into your older attractions.
  4. I'm one of the "not a big SFMM fan" guys. I've been going every other week and I'll tell you I'm impressed with the park right now. (this coming from a guy who for years hated SFMM) The main thing is it's a hell of a lot cleaner. I feel if you really try and really care people notice. They have done a good job there. My kids and I still love to count strollers. On March 8th we were there for 7hrs and saw 6 strollers. I know that's something they want to change but sometimes it's a tougher crowd and parents don't want their kids in that environment. Many times I have to pull my kids out of line because of rude (young adults) kids. I wish when people are yelling and cursing up a storm they would be removed from the park. I know it's a tough thing to do but I think it would be a good thing. Great update Jahan. Thanks
  5. This stuff is so great. All these pics are kinda creepy though. Coasters left to fall apart is so sad. When they're loaded with people screaming and laughing that gives them life It's tough to see them like this . Keep the pics coming. Thanks.
  6. Just got back from Knott"s and the entire layout (track) is done. They are flying on this thing. I was talking to an employee and he said that the cars are being delivered this week. It looks really fun but I think it's too short.
  7. Thank you for sharing your "geekism" with all of us. Sure it's nerdie but it 's just good old fun. I think if everyone had to show their hand we would all have stuff like that. I know I do. Thanks again.
  8. They are saying all the right things. For 24 years I have stayed away from SFMM but because of your web site and what I'm seeing and hearing I got passes this year. Great work guys you make it fun and that's what this is all about. I would love to see them get Revolution back to it's former glory. Thanks again guys.
  9. I was there on Saturday with my kids and I can not believe how fast this is going up. I thought with all the rain it would not even be this far.You can get some great views from the Galloping Goose. Thanks for the pics.
  10. Magic Mt. is a local park and that's it but that's not a bad thing. I was there on Saturday from 3pm to 8pm and the strange thing that I found was we only saw 5 strollers. FIVE? SFMM tried something years ago and it's now coming back to haunt them. Now I will give them this they tried to be different. Disneyland is the apple and way too many other parks try to be "that same apple" Magic Mt. said "never mind that let's be an orange"and they took a big chance. I think they can get it back to being a family park. Hell I even got passes. Now if you all read my posts you know I'm new to the whole coaster thing because flat out I'm just scared. Well My son and I road Scream and Riddlers. What have I gotten myself into? I had a blast on them and after 45 years of fear I'm finally getting brave enough to enjoy some great B&M coasters. If SFMM is looking to add another thrill / family type ride a Mack themed water coaster would be fun.
  11. No it's all new (sort of) A lot of the "props" used were from the old character parade. The boat is a section of the float that Cpt.Hook and Smee stood on. Disneyland is big on recycling.
  12. Most of my old Knot"ts stuff is from the 50's and 60's so it's more about the old west. Find that old Bush Gardens stuff.........Please!
  13. I have always collected the old pamphlets from our local (L.A. Calif) area. Maybe it's remembering your childhood that makes looking at these so special. It's just fun to see because everything now days is sooooooo slick and some of these old adds are just kinda innocent. Maybe in my old age I've just gotten jaded. I'm gonna have to learn how to scan and get some of my old Disney and Knott's stuff out. In the early 1070's there was a Bush Gardens in L.A. off of Roscoe and Woodley. It was a great park with an Arrow flume ride. and beautiful gardens and shows. I have a few over head pics but nothing else. Does anyone have pamphlets or adds from that park? Keep this stuff up guys (and girls) I love seeing this stuff from all the parks.
  14. I was looking at all your guys GREAT collection. Thanks for posting all your pics. I have a ton of old Disneyland stuff along with parts from old rides. It's always fun to stroll down memory lane.
  15. Bear-ytales.net has new pics of Pony check them out.
  16. this sucks! (well for me) Pics and updates are great. Keep them coming. Why the hell did I go to NAMM show on that weekend?
  17. Sorry I missed it. Robb thanks for trying to fit me in. I ended up going to the NAMM show in Anaheim. Sounds like you all had a great time.
  18. plus a cable replacement at 3 mil.
  19. Thanks for the great pics.I miss the Skull Rock area and the Chicken of the sea restaurant. It sucks they got rid or the Sky Way. Or should I say it sucks the reasons "why" they got rid of the Sky Way. I have one of the rollers that was on the towers. I friend of mine was involved with the removal. They weigh a ton. Thanks again for the pics.
  20. That's really cool. Yea, it sure looked rough. At the end how in the hell did that kid appear like that ? WOW that's tricky. Thanks for finding that clip.
  21. That's correct. Hell they should put them on ebay. I would love to have one. Throw in a Metro train also.
  22. It is a different ride if the car is "REALLY" spinning. I know what you are saying is a fun little ride but when you are spinning fast it pretty darn intense and fun.
  23. Sidewinder is a great ride but it ain't no Batman but it's not supposed to be. I think his tongue was in the old cheek on that comment. Panda Express in that area is a bad idea. Now what they did to the building was nice. IMO I don't want "outside" food when I'm in a park. I want (if it's good) park food. Ghost Town Grill is a great place to eat It's sure better than Johnny Rockets and Panda.
  24. 108 ft , 2500' of track and 14mil = compact ? Well maybe. I think something like that would be a soar thumb there. They could just bolt it to the ground back behind Big Foot in the staging area. I'm not sold on it yet either but let's see. I think Knott's is holding strong to a family theme. It might work for some people but not for others. They are also really in a bind with space. Eventually they will have to expand into the staging area like they did up in front when they built Ghost Ryder.
  25. I keep reading about the lousy color scheme. Knowing that this is going into a wooded area and through the back of Ghost Town what color scheme would you all like it to be? I think the scheme they chose will not be intrusive to the Ghost Town area. I like the brown supports but a hunter green track would be nice. Just a thought.
