Photo Trip Report - Silverwood Theme Park
Gorwingel replied to JimmyBo's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Awesome report! I consider Silverwood my home park (Because I'm currently residing in Spokane while finishing college), and I love it. It's a fabulous homegrown park, with a pair of awesome woodies. Tremors my absolute favorite of all, and has held up so well over the years. I'm crossing my fingers for Aftershock. I have only about four more weeks in the area, and I'm hoping to get my coaster formally known as Deja Vu credit before I get out of here. -
I know somebody in this Photo Trip Report! It's nice to see what Dan has been up too since I last saw him in WDW.

Food, Food and other stuff! Dessert... I actually liked it. And that's about it. The next morning I flew out at about seven it the morning, but had such a good time... as I always do. Chicken and Shrimp Tempura : ) Went to Tokyo Dining. Tofu salad... which sounds really bad, but was oh so good! I'm still thinking about it more than a week later. Later at Epcot... China. We were right on the corner. On the actual parade... I thought it was okay, but than I'm also not much of a parade person. Looking down the street. Waiting for Block Party Bash. Stuart. Next day... Hollywood Studios. There were few if any references to MGM left. Dessert. Vegetables, and peanut rice of all things. Fries, chicken nuggets... ummm : ) Pasta and meatballs. Prime Rib and other meats. The Hummus portion. -

Do you think I could just end with that? More Blizzard Beach, and some other stuff : ) Wave pool. The soup in the back was so awesome. Boma! Food! Fist shake for Dinosaur. But we mean no hard feelings... we really do actually love this ride. Though Stuart just wishes it was still Countdown. Stuart's still mourning Beastly Kingdom. Now back to the Pop. Their magical moment... CM's and Managers dancing the Hustle. Summit Plummet... from above! Swan, Dolphin, Spaceship Earth. Looking in the direction of Hollywood Studios. In the middle there you can see the backside of Everest. Decided to walk the camera all the way up to the top of Mt. Gushmore. The older kids play area. Racing slide. Stuart. These slides were cool. -

Oh wait... there's more : ) Blizzard Beach, Florida sun, swimsuits, and Ice Cream. Looking up at Gushmore. Yeah... I'll do almost every coaster, but I won't do this. Summit Plummet. It has every topping and more ice cream than you could ask for. And they only sell it at the water parks. Which makes no sense especially because of the whole swimsuit thing. This is like the soft serve equivalent to the Kitchen Sink at Yacht and Beach. Next to mine it just looks downright pitiful. Yes, I actually decided to get the Garbage Pail. And now to dessert... here's Stuart's Apple Pie Sundae. Good, but... Sign to the kids area. Another view of the lazy river. The little kids area. The Sandbox... which was really cute. Oh no! Me in a swimsuit! Run! Oh no! Coaster Enthusiast in a swimsuit! Run! ; ) The Lodge... or main food place. Lazy River. -

Here's my side of the trip! First time I've ever posted anything like this. Map. Decided to do Blizzard Beach. Very first time for myself. New signage for Year of a Million Dreams. Yes, the Chicken Strips are gone... they are now made of basically the same stuff, but instead are much more nugget like. Definitely not the same though. Big Thunder off in the distance. Yeah : ) Luckily my favorite Butler was there working that night. Dole Whip... as we say the heart and soul of Adventureland. I want this for my house. My favorite ride. My favorite land. This is actually working now!!! First time in about two years. Another angle of the Castle. It was beautiful... but during the beginning of the week it was colder than it appears. It warmed up later though. Let's start with some not so subtle advertising for the cruise line at the Caribbean Beach Resort. -

They own Knott's old Corkscrew (which runs about as well as you would expect a 1970's Arrow to run)... so this doesn't surprise me too much. They do have experience with used steel. But it's going to be weird because of the fact that it will dwarf everything else in the park! And it will definitely be one of the tallest things in Northern Idaho. I guess if there's one good thing about me sticking around Spokane this summer for school... this is it! Interestingly enough I've always wanted to ride one of these things especially because they're so rare. July seems so far out though especially with the sub zero temperatures we have been experiencing the last few days. Wonder when they'll start instillation? -

Great Trip Report... but I think I'm required to say that *wink* Though I truly, truly mean it. Kinda can't believe that you actually put a picture of me in my custodial costume though. Now everyone knows my top secret disguise! It was such a fun week. And just to add that at this moment, at this college, with it's not so wonderful food, I'm really, really, really missing Boma : ( -

Oh, gosh, that turned out so awesome! Such an unexpected and interesting experience. Though I wonder what would have happened if it had gone on for just a little bit longer *thinks*. Best TPR video I've ever been in! - Ashley aka Jack Skellington 101's better half. -
I would do it for you, but I kinda left in August ; ) Sadly I'm not going to be back to the World in a very long time. Had no idea that you were on TPR though... and I hope that everything is still going well and amazing! - Ashley

Yeah, that was awesome seeing you at Earl. That is truly one of my favorite restaurants, especially when it comes to those of the fast food type. I have no doubt you'll be back to WDW at least one time in the future (if not more, how can you stay away from a place that becomes such a big part of your life), and I have no doubt that I'll probably be there. I won't be down there after August for awhile, but after that... yeah, I'll probably be there : )

I remember that the first time I saw you in the German pavilion I was actually really nervous... It wasn't until months after (I believe it was at that Cast Halloween party) that I actually met you and said hi. It was really awesome getting to see you the times that I did. I'm glad that you had a wonderful time, and I do sincerely wish that they would be able to provide you with more opportunities, because the German pavilion is definitely not the same without you : ( - Ashley... aka Stuart's really good friend

The WDW Disney College Program
Gorwingel replied to jackskellington101's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh aren't those the best? Especially when it's exactly 8 hours between shifts so that they don't have to give you double... I had that happen to me once. And then the bus schedule was fun... I had to get up about two hours before to even make it on time. If I had to be in by seven I had to be up no later than 5:30 (and even that was pushing it). These are the grips... other than that I loved my time down there. So much so that I'll be back doing the CP again this summer. -

Gorwingel replied to GMAN962's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes the job can really be that repetitive... but no it's definitely not this hard. The Phantom Manor one is awesome though. Took me a little bit to get the hang of it but once I got it it was really fun. -

I can't believe you drank that water and ate that sandwich! Ewwww! Now I can what your talking about when you bring up lack of shade. Sad that Joker's Jinx was down... that would be the only one I would be interested in riding. Very good pictures though. -

Yay! Pictures! Yes, I can see why he would say that. Can't wait to see more photos. Wish I could have been there *tear*. -
Two months... that's not too bad. That's the only thing I've been concerned about is getting part time in my area. I worked in Adventureland/Liberty Square and that's really the only area that I want to go back to, but I do know that it is popular so I've been just a tad bit worried about the wait. So did you get put on a wait list and just worked seasonal till there was an opening in part?
-
^You transfered down there? That's awesome! UCF? I'm applying to transfer down there as well. I'm missing it like crazy, and there's so much that I still want to do. How has it been? And was it hard to get the part time position?
-
^Yes, I agree... Thriller is a very good song, especially when it's Halloween, but a fifty foot tall robot... of himself! That's just a tad bit insane.
