  1. Oh gosh, that music is cool. Efteling has always been high on my list of parks I've wanted to visit. I'm actually quite happy to hear that the theming overshadows the roller coaster portion... it's not very often that you hear about someone putting that before thrills. But, yes, this attraction looks way awesome... and that bread on the first page looks delicious as well.
  2. The Mickey Power Tower was the one of the last things I saw as I was leaving Florida *tear*. Very good trip report. Agree about Montu... completely, utterly surprised me and ended up being one of my favorites. Awesome that they were running it without the trims because I do remember those. But I have to agree with the masses about Gwazi; simply one of the roughest coasters I've ever been on period. Thought the layout was good. Looks like it was pretty empty... it was empty for us as well. Is it always that empty or should I come in the summer?
  3. Career Start... Congratulations! Car or no car, that is the question? I agree Mass Transit is not the best. One time we were trying to figure out how to get from Chatham to Universal by bus and became so confused that we gave up and took a taxi. Really, truly, if you want to do anything outside of Disney car is definitely the way to go. Besides you can still use the busing to get to work (and the resort in general), and have the car for your days off or just in case. I was down there for seven months without a car and only really made it to two places off of property... Universal and Busch (for that we took a bus that leaves everyday from the outlet mall). There is a bus that they provide that goes to Wall-Mart but that's not everyday. So, yeah, if you can afford it, I highly recommend taking a car.
  4. Cool... I was acting like a true Floridian and I didn't even know it. Yay! Loved, loved, loved shopping at Publix. Even their store brands were of very good quality.
  5. Very, very nicely designed website. But the number of errors on it is ridiculous. Did bring us hours and hours of hilarity though.
  6. Glad she's doing better! This has all been so amazingly adorable... been loving the updates and the multiple references to sci-fi movies. Wishing the best!
  7. I was just wondering... are you working at Disney through the Disney College Program? I just finished the program in January and I had the best time. Florida is a lovely place to live. I was extremely lucky because when I was down there the weather was wonderful. We only had two minor storms, which consisted of nothing more than a lot of rain, and during the summer the weather was warm but not extreme... meaning it basically ranged from 88 to about 92 every day. Fall was wonderful, but I do have to admit that it was kind of weird having 70 degree weather and sun on Christmas Day. I felt that the prices for goods were kind of expensive, but then I also refused to shop at Wall-Mart. I also lacked a car so I was basically limited to where they would bus me (WDW, Downtown Disney) and where I could walk. In the area around Vista and Chatham we had a Publix, Walgreen's, and the Orlando Premium Outlets... all directed towards tourists so the prices weren't the best. If you are doing the College Program... good luck! The work can be repetitive at times, but it's truly the best thing I've ever done in my life.
  8. Very, very good trip report. Loved that you went to Warner Brother's... I've heard of that, been interested, but I just might have to do it next time. Glad you had a wonderful time though.
  9. ^Yes, I did work Custodial... and Colin was one of the loveliest people I met on the program. He was always so inviting and nice... and he gave me food! I send best wishes and hope everything is going wonderfully! I wanted to go to President's Park, but sadly we didn't have a car so we were kind of forced to stay around the historical area. I think we also would have drove down near Busch to just look at it. We had a good time though... it was my first time in years to the area and Williamsburg is one of my favorite places.
  10. Gruesome and harsh but I loved it. The imagery is amazing, and the story was extremely captivating. At the end I got the biggest lump in my throat and was fighting back tears. First introduced to the director Guillermo Del Toro by Hellboy. Was very impressed by that film, so when I first heard that this was coming out I knew I had to see it. It did have some things that you really should never have to see. I do admit that I did close my eyes at some parts and became squirmish at others. But it's a really well done film, and I highly recommend it. And just to add I think it was very much robbed at the Oscars... it should have at least won Best Foreign Film.
  11. Wonderful Trip Report... Vegas is one of my absolute favorites, and a place that I've probably been to more than any other. Adore Penn & Teller... saw their show trip before last. I absolutely love how they come out afterwards; it was such a shock because I had been watching them for years, and I had no idea that they did that. Didn't get photos but did get autographs. Been to Vegas many, many times, but still have never been on Manhattan Express (or the Roller Coaster, or whatever it's called now). You're definitely a braver person than I.
  12. Congratulations! Glad to see that everything is going well, and she's very, very adorable
  13. Glad to see that it looks like it hasn't changed too much... always going to miss the Camp Snoopy theming. I rode Ripsaw over and over and over when I was a kid, and the log flume is one of my absolute favorites. I'm assuming that they got rid of the random plug for Boysenberry syrup though? Nice TP!
  14. Very awesome report... glad you had a fabulous time. The fog photos are very awesome. I was down there for seven months and I don't remember ever seeing the castle being completely hidden because of some type of weather system.
  15. Hi, Long time lurker, first time poster. I first stumbled across the site about a year and a half ago while looking for pictures of Efteling. Love the trip reports... have to admit that I lived vivaciously through them during the Summer of 2005 because I was stuck in my hometown doing nothing while nursing an injury. I'm a college student, back at school right now, but last summer and semester I was down in Orlando working at Disney through the Disney College Program... worked both custodial on Main Street and later at Aladdin/Tiki/Treehouse in Adventureland. Haven't been on the most coasters, and it took me a long time to get myself to go on something that went upside down (first looper was Corkscrew at Silverwood), but now I'll basically go on everything. I do posess one of the most rare credits though... The Coaster Thrill Ride at the Puyallup Fair. Love coasters and dark rides of all kinds especially. I'm very good friends with jackskellington101 who I met while down on the program. I found out that he was a poster when I had know him for just a little bit, it was kind of surprising, but it just made him that much more cool.
