Blackpool Pleasure Beach ADVICE?
Adam_C replied to Adam_C's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for your help so far guys, its really appreciated! So far Im tempted to try Roller Coaster, Space Invaders 2, and perhaps the Grand National? Im not sure about Steeplechase... it looks like those fun Soapbox Racers from when I visited Knotts Berry Farm, but the fact that its on a horse on a bar and you just have a seatbelt... looks kinda deadly! -
London Dungeon New Ride!
Adam_C replied to LingLing13's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The London Dungeons are a horror / horrific historical themed waxwork museum... not a park -
Remember me? I wrote a while ago how I have a bit of a fear of coasters... Big Thunder Mountain (Paris and Florida) is the limit on what Ive been on really, and I enjoyed it a lot because I liked it being fast and twisty but without strong drops, dips, or loops etc. Yes I know, Im a big girl. I did go on the Jurassic Park ride in California, but kind of by accident, and I hated that drop! lol Anyway, I need the advice of those who have visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach... this is my local theme park now that Southport Pleasureland is no more, and I visit a fair bit, but have never been on any of the coasters aside Zipper Dipper when I was a kid, heh. Well as a first time coastery type, who aint a fan of big drops and dips (so not the Big One thanks!!), what coasters would you recommend I try? I've been to the Pleasure Beach all my life, but this is something new to me! I'm getting brave! Many kind thanks!

Coolest station you've seen

Disneyland Paris' Phantom Manor has the best loading area of all the Haunted Mansions IMO, nice dark interiors, furniture around realistically, lightning flashing at the windows.... hehe. -
Haunted Mansion Refurb Dates

Maybe they'll juice it up to Phantom Manor style? ie add a few bits, remove some others... ya never know. Phantom Manor's soundtrack would be wonderful. -

When I try and download the vid, it just shows the 3-picture image as a pic, but says its an mpg... How can I download it? -
...that Flag's hanging upside down. The thick white bars should cycle clockwise.

What is your local park?
Adam_C replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It *was* Southport Pleasureland, but now it's Blackpool Pleasure Beach I guess. Or perhaps Camelot, Im not sure. -
Efteling Discussion Thread
Adam_C replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It looks lovely and smoothe! Im hoping to go to Efteling for a first time in August, and would quite like to go on this, despite my nerves about roller coasters! The drop looks a little steep for me (but holy hell look how steep that lift hill is!), and it tilts pretty far sideways on the horseshoe... ...but I might give it a go. Just need to grow some balls. -
The vampire looks good. Chessington is too far for me right now, and probably pricy, heh. I cant really afford dedicated theme park trips aside Florida once every few years, and going to Blackpool once in a blue moon, hehe. Alton Towers' runaway mine train was rubbish but felt dangerous. hhe, i loved that. if you do go, plonk yourself on Rita (may seem like a massive jump, but both my parents who hate roller coasters done it easily.) also, get yourself on Air Alton Towers is expensive and a bit run down in parts, and *REALLY* congested with chavs. But yeah if I have another visit sometime, I might be brave

The Wild Mouse in Blackpool? Is that the one on the pier with the waltzer style cars, or the one in the Pleasure Beach with the tiny 2 person cars? And yeah the next bigger coaster Im tempted to try is probably Rock N Roller Coaster when I go to Florida later in the year. I may end up in Blackpool before then, so may try the wild mouse or some other tame coaster like "Roller Coaster" (great name) or the Big Dipper... think they'd be any good? (if you've rode them).. its so pricy in Blackpool though!

Ah. The one where you start in a cave and drop after a wait? Yeah its cool, but I dont feel like its a drop, it just descends quickly instead of it being a sudden drop. ...if I make any sense.
-
Thank you! And you think the drop in BTM is big and dead good? The one with the water spray? I didnt think it was that big. Fun though! The small one just before it where you look like you're going to hit a wall, and then you drop, and yer belly goes "floop!" hehe.
-
Its tame, but then the drop on Splash Mountain looks too much for me. The one on Jurassic Park nearly killed me! lol As for the drops, the fear as it were is probably rooted in my fear of heights, and not liking the drop feeling because it makes my stomach flip.
-
Now, I've been thinking that! I mean before I first went on Big Thunder, I wouldnt have wanted to go on, for fear Id hate it, but I got the bottle together to go on it when my bf told me it was tame but fun etc etc, and after Id been on it, I loved it, and looked forward to it on my next visit! So yeah... its just getting the balls

Yeah well I didnt know I wasnt supposed to do a "hi, Im new!" post. If its to be closed, then so be it. Rock N Roller coaster my bf thinks I would like, at least based on the Disney Paris verison, he said it was very smoothe. And again, Im not "scared" as such, Ive just never wanted to go on a coaster cos I dont think Id like them, and I dont like big drops. I didnt think BTM was extreme, but Im saying that I enjoyed that particular ride, and was wondering about similar. And yeah I know Disney well, as I say, I enjoyed BTM in Paris and Florida, and Test Track and Mission Space were both fun, but again, Test Track is just a fast twisty type as opposed to drops, if that makes sense. But so far people have seemed kinda hostile

I love both Duel and Hex! Expedition Everest looks great themed but there's a big drop!
-
Well like I say, I liked Big Thunder, I just dont like big droppy coasters etc, ya know? Im not afraid as such, I just dont think Id enjoy certain ones at all. However, Six Flags America's "Batwing" looks very fun.
-
I was just saying hi really, Im new! I liked Big Thunder Mountain at DLRP a LOT, but it's because it was just fast and twisty and nicely themed, no big drops or loops etc (cant stand drops!), and just wonder if anyone maybe could recommend similar things I might like, maybe out of UK parks and Disney Florida as I go there on holiday. But if I wasnt supposed to make a post just saying hi, then Im sorry.

Firstly, hi, Im new! My name's Adam, I live in Bolton, near Manchester in the North West of England. I however, am a big wuss! I don't like coasters or thrill rides, lol. I like stuff like Pirates of the Caribbean in Disney, Trauma Towers in Blackpool Pleasure Beach etc, so really things like fun dark rides, family attractions like mazes and stuff, FUN stuff, not AAAAAAARGH stuff! The toughest coaster Ive been on and enjoyed is Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland Paris. Unless you count Test Track at EPCOT. Although a few years ago I went to Universal Studios Hollywood and didnt realise that Jurassic Park River Adventure was anything other than a fun boat/animatronic ride until I got off at the end, dripping wet, and uttering, "th...th...there was a drop!!"
