    TR guidelines?

Wha? No! I complimented her on her teeth, I guess thats a bit weird, but aside that I cant see how I've shown any obsessive qualities! heh If you mean the McD's comment, it was just being nice, and trying not to be too much of a newbie! I feel silly now, so I've removed it.

    TR guidelines?

    Thank you.
  3. In making a Photo TR... is there a recommendation on how to proceed? I have 61 photos... do I do them all at once and it'll automatically make pages, or do I do a few at a time etc? Thanks.
  4. I must admit, Paris' Big Thunder Mountain blows the living hell out of the other versions, its a really great coaster, heavily themed even more than the other versions too, plus lotsa twists and drops.
  5. Hmm... although that would increase my coaster count a bit
  6. I see this name pop up in posts a lot... what's the story?
  7. I do have fun, I usually over look these things, but as I know the park so well its hard not to! I know to some people the park is about the rides, but to me its about theming (which is one reason I adore Disneyland Paris). When I sail into the grotto in River Caves, I usually cant help thinking "oh, the mist isnt working again", as I dont recall it having worked for years, but when I first rode that ride with my cousin, and the mist was working, it was beautiful and amazing, but without it, its dull and you can see the rails and mechanics and peeling paint etc. Its not something done out of snobbishness or something, its just the equivalent of taking the vase off the fireplace mantlepiece, polishing the mantle with a cloth, putting the vase down again, and maybe putting a flower in it... ...horrendous analogy I know, but it explains what I mean.
  8. Now face characters I dont mind so much. Mary Poppins is lovely to talk to. And as for "talking with characters about their movies" etc, you cant... you can say things AT them and all they can do is stare back with a fixed smile and un-blinking eyes, and not say anything. I always thought with its budget that Disney could update these large mascot costumes somehow.
  9. I are poor! Ah well, guess I'll never know, you big meanie
  10. Mr Funshine is the park's mascot, but the owner now is doing away with him... she's doing this park badly since her dad died... ...I meant the Beaver Creek mascot, Bradley Beaver.
  11. Okay, let me work this out properly, heh... I said 'Six Flags' because I thought it was a chain of theme parks, as in THEME parks, but I didnt realise they were mediocre parks, like what we have. What I meant is more that it would be great to have a heavily themed park in the UK. I further meant that itd be nice if some UK parks just dolled themselves up a bit, the odd lick of paint, maybe having a little more theming, to use a bad example, Disneyland Paris's "Area Closed. Construction" signs are very plain and dull, as are their white scaffold coverings, wheras in the other Disney parks, the signs are more themed, the scaffold covers often have murals etc. Some UK parks just need the odd ride rennovation, cleaning some of the lights, fix some old effects, maybe update them, repaint those cave walls etc... if you get what I mean? As for Disneyland Paris, its pretty with some amazing rides and wonderful theming compared to other parks, but I felt spoiled by WDW, which to me felt more magic, a lot more to do, better value, and with much better more enthusiastic staff, which I think Paris lacks, sadly. And I love Blackpool. I always have. I guess you can be critical of what you love. I could walk through Trauma Towers and point at things and say "that needs re-doing, repaint this, get some more of those, move this over here", or go onto River Caves and go "that floor needs a covering, the animatronics need updating, that sound is muffled, this cavern needs repainting, the mist effect isnt working AGAIN" (etc). Im sure everyone could of their own favourite parks. Ah well, bring on Disneyland Bolton or something
  12. Photos not working. Did you say you rode Tower of Terror? Is it finished?!
  13. Paris is good, and a pretty park, but what lets it down is that it only has 2 parks, one of which can be completed in a few hours, they have rebranded/renamed/re-dubbed things from English to French, often with no translation for English. Many of the staff are terrible, no Disney style service here! Several of them smoke, talk on mobile phones, often shout or are aggressive, and many of them barely speak two words of English, so you cant interact or explain anything! I remember trying to explain to a staff member in Phantom Manor that a staff door had been left open and some kids were near it, but she didnt understand ANY English... sadly this was the same at restaurants and stuff too. But the ultimate worst thing is that Disneyland Paris is SO expensive that its just unbelievable! I think thats the biggest thing for me, its expensive for what you get. If it were MUCH cheaper, Id go more, and probably enjoy it more as it has some great bits too! But sadly with how much it is at the moment, Id rather save up for WDW and properly feel the Disney Magic which I sadly think lacks at Paris.
  14. It was my right ear, and he was sat on my left at the time... so I hope so!!
  15. Oh god I cant win here can I? How do I delete this thread?
  16. Looking through the 2002 ECO pics, it seems Elissa didnt like Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Bradley Beaver... how come? What he do? When I had my photo with him, he spoke (that was weird) and stuck his finger in my ear!
  17. See, again, you're assuming I said I dont like parks yet I only just said Im going to Pleasure Beach Blackpool tomorrow. Read the last post I made, it explains more what I meant about theming, and a lick of paint now and then. As for being near a Disney Park... have you BEEN to Disneyland Paris? It might have a better Big Thunder Mountain but I wouldnt go to DLRP again having been to WDW, it seriously lacks the Disney feel... no magic, and the customer service/staff etc are horrific there. Again... I LIKE the UK parks Ive visited, Im just saying how nice some heavily themed park would be if we had one in the UK.
  18. Nono... Okay, look forget I said Six Flags Im also not dissing the UK parks, Im just saying that it'd be great to have one heavy themed park in the UK, itd just be nice. Or that some of the already good parks just had a bit of a clean and fix, ie Blackpool Pleasure Beach fix things like the special effects in River Caves, maybe give it a paint, they've recently re-done a lot of flooring and themed a bavarian area near Trauma Towers... thats great, thats the sort of thing I mean. Alton Towers could modernise the skyway so its not cream coloured with dark brown windows etc. Just little things to bring things up to standard, a lick of paint here and there, a replaced sign maybe, maybe even a themed sign... you know? But yeah, despite its impossibility, a nice heavy themed park would be cool. Im not attacking anything. Remember, Im going to Pleasure Beach Tomorrow! But if I see any sub-par bits, maybe Ill take a photo to explain what I mean. I dunno.
  19. No, I meant the *park* themed. Ie not just some great attractions in a bit of a shoddy park with truck stop food places and old shoddy wood facades. I mean look at Alton Towers, the Nemesis theming is wonderful, as is Hex, but they dont play on the fact that its very English, that park, they choose to have things like "Towers Street" which is obviously "Main Street USA" but with rotten falling apart dirty wood facades. I cant explain fully what I mean, but it'd be nice to have a theme park that feels like an actual theme park, the way Disney does etc, and not just like a fun fair.
  20. We have *NO* themed parks. We need good parks, even if not Six Flags!
  21. "There isnt one because they didnt build one there"... Im inclined to say "DUUUH!!" I meant WHY wasnt one built here? And as for height restrictions... in regards to what? Park height? Look at the Pepsi Max Big One! But yes, I totally agree about well themed versus parking lot coasters, because sadly it seems most of the UK's parks are parking lot coaster types, and Id love to see at least one REALLY well themed park!
  22. The UK needs more parks. Proper THEME parks, ie big and good quality, the closest we have is Alton Towers or Blackpool Pleasure Beach, not that they have much theming. Southport Pleasureland was themed all Arabian but its gone now They should build some better park on the spot it was occupying!
  23. I mean if other countries have Six Flags, how come the UK doesnt have one! Id love a Six Flags to open up in the UK, or maybe more than one. One in the North would be good
  24. Robb/Elissa, when did you first/last go to Disneyland Paris? Did you ever go there with the TPR gang, or make a TR on it? Would be pleased to know
  25. Leary? pfft. Watch Bill Hicks' stuff if you wanna see the original material that he stole.
