Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
spaceace12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode Beast this year and I thought it sucked. IT is trimmed to the point any speed that is built up, is killed when there might be air. Also has a bunch of flat and slow parts. I do imagine Beast pre trim was pretty awesome though. -

After seeing the end of the Vikes/Bears game, I was left wondering. If Chicago could have played like this the whole season, they might be in for some playoff action. But also, the Vikings are not exactly playing so hot. Is this the year Favre finally, finally, finally, finally retires if he doesn't get his SB ring? -
I selected no based on the costs....The only thing I would be interested in doing is the coaster events at parks. With me possibly buying a home this next year, any expensive trip is going to be out of the question. But if, as said above, you take the 15 dollar store credit out and maybe cut 5 more dollars of stuff out. Making the cost 20 a year, this would be comparable to most clubs out there now (Great Ohio Coaster Club, Wood coaster fan club, maybe even Coaster Buzz), it would be worth it. I have yet to join a club for next year so I can get my discounted HW season pass. Also, if the price would include chance to get in on ERT (with an extra costs) at local parks TPr visits, I would be for it. For example, I can't go on the Midwest trip, but if I could do the day thing with TPR at Holiday World, I would buy into that. As for the publication, when I was in GOCC and WCFC, the newsletters went straight to the storage and I didn't even read them.

Are you working during the holidays?
spaceace12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
The news (or lack there of sometimes) doesn't go on vacation for the Holidays so I don't get time off. And I like it that way. Holiday pay is 2.5 times and makes for a nice check when there is two holidays on it. Plus bosses are gone quite a bit during the Holiday's making it nice day at work. Sorta nice being essential staff to put on a product. If I wanted to, I could take the Holiday's off and not lose any money, but wouldn't get holiday pay. Only 8 normal hour pay. -

It was the Giants and yes, they went 18-1 that year. -
Someone pointed it to me and I did the thing. 1st off, did doughnuts in the parking lot at my work. Behind my work is a doughnut shop. And you see the doughnut shop sign in the picture.

The most useful gift I could have gotten from my friend and his family. Of course they knew I needed it since I was borrowing my friends all last summer. And then I mentioned I was going to get this one.

Quote for truth. I didn't watch the second half, but heard Manning was pulled. If anything, this locks up MVP for him. For one, with the Saints loss, it takes Brees less and less a MVP contender. Colts were leading up to the point that he was pulled and Colts could do no more. The letters MVP mean Most Valuable Player. Today showed how valuable Peyton is to the Colts. Plus the only other people out there for MVP (my opinion) is Manning, Brees, Johnson (who isn't in the playoffs), Favre, and possibly Rivers (only because he is playing good). Favre isn't exactly playing so hot and Rivers, well, I don't know. Just looking at the schedule, they played quite a few weak teams. I honestly didn't care about perfection. Just win in the playoffs. -

A couple things on my mind... 1. The MVP race. It is in Peyton Manning's hands. Win out, it is his. Lose a game or two, it is tight between him and Drew Brees with Brett Favre behind. Chris Johnson took himself out of contention with his teams loss. The loss wasn't his fault, in fact, Titans need a QB. Vince Young isn't getting it done. This is my opinion. 2. Playoffs, Playoffs.....playoffs? mora voice>. In the AFC, the only givens at this point is 1st and second seed. Colts have number one and the Chargers have number two. I think the Chargers will lose int he playoffs. They will get Norv'ed, they always do. The 3-6th seed is still up. In the NFC. Things are not clear cut on seeding. Vikings could get number 1 if they win out and Saints lose out, maybe. I am not sure. The only thing clear in the NFC is wild cards. Other then the Giants who could still make it, the WC's are almost set. The AFC is crazy. This weekend is make or break for quite a few teams. There is still five teams that could knock the two WC teams out. According to .... http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/standings/playoffrace/seeds If the playoffs started now. AFC. 1. Colts (14-0) (HFA and bye) 2. Chargers (12-3) (bye) 3. Patriots (9-5) 4. Bengals (9-5) 5. Ravens (8-6) 6. Bronco's (8-6) With Jags, Jets, Dolphins, Texans, and Steelers still in the hunt. Ravens and Bronco's are both 8-6 while the other teams in the hunt are 7-7. NFC. 1. Saints (13-1) (bye) 2. Vikings (11-3) 3. Eagles (10-4) 4. Cardinals (9-5) 5. Packers (9-5) 6. Cowboys (9-5) Witht he Giants (8-6). Other notes. Colts are riding a 23 game regular season win streak, which is a record. Cowboys won a game in December...shocking. Chances are pretty good I will be working the Colts playoff games. That is all. Almost forgot.... Go Colts. . -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
spaceace12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
On the Voyage rank, I don't think it has gotten rough this last year at all. In fact, I think it got better. On the non-coaster event runs, it was running excellent. What put it over the top for me was the rain soaked track during ERT on Saturday at the coaster event this year. When the ride impresses the coaster designer (Korey with Gravitity Group rode during ERT) who rode it quite a bit. -
Not going to make any, easier not break them.

Where In The World Do TPR Members Live?
spaceace12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am from the arm pit of America. Terre Haute, IN. At least that is what Steve Martin called us when he visited my town in the 70's. Isn't it great being that close to all those parks? Plus I get to add SFSTL within a 3 hour drive. -

wow...what a weird weekend. Saints loose to Cowboys Bronco's loose to Raiders Vikings loose to Panthers MVP race is getting a little more clear (in my opinion). 1. Manning 2. Chris Johnson (if the Titans make the playoffs, it is due to him) 3. Drew Brees (the loss wasn't bad, and if had won, been #1) 4. Brett F. (Vikes lost to the Panthers and they only a few touchdowns and one was a give me at the end). -

On my 2010 list to go to. I have a friend who lives over there so I can sleep there if need be. Also, I want to see JAck Hanna, he looks like a fun person to be around. -

NFLN sucks..... If the Colts don't rest players and win against the Jets....hello 16-0. Bills shouldn't be much of bother. The weather in Buffalo will be a biggle issue. -

I don't know if they will or not. I have decided to start Manning in FF and risk it. There is two thoughts to that though. *rest them and not risk getting hurt or *play them and risk them getting hurt and not being able to play in the playoffs. I am glad I don't have to make that decision. I hope they don't and no one gets hurt. -

So the Pro Bowl this year is the week before the Superbowl. It is also not in Hawaii this year, it is in the same city as the SB (Miami). The NFL is doing this is probably to keep fans to the SB city for a longer time. But I can't imagine any SB team coach allowing any of his players to play in the Pro Bowl. Just imagine this years PB without Peyton and Brees, it would loose some of its luster. -
It is legal to a point. Once you hit .08, it is illegal to be on the road. You can drink all you want in the bar or home. This is why I stay out of these debates, they have a tendacy to get locked because it won't end in a good way. And for the record, if they made alcohol and tobacco illegal, it wouldn't bother me anyway because I use none of them. In fact....I will stop there as this could be another debate.
