1st Column: "Featured Updates" 2nd Column: "Forum Updates" or "Forum and Member Updates" I think "Official Updates" works well for the 1st Column because the word "official" demands attention. Maybe, you could just increase the font size so it stands out a little more and perhaps center it in the middle of the column instead of the left alignment? For the 2nd Column, maybe just simplifying the title will help?

1. What do you find most useful about the front page? Not having pop-up ads! Also, just the basic layout works really well. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? Can't really think of anything. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? Nope. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? Depends on how long it has been since my last trip to the site. Most days I check the site several times a day so I just see if there is anything new and then click on the forum link. I will very rarely scroll down to the bottom of the page. 5. How often do you look at the front page? Just about every time I visit the site. My bookmark is linked to the front page. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? I'm in the crowd that didn't know it existed. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? I combined this with Question 7 because my answer is the same. I like everything the way it is.

Thats a good point about traffic going down U.S. 66. However, at that time in the early afternoon, traffic shouldn't be backed up to downtown Sevierville yet and you can take the shortcut to Dollywood on Dolly Parton Pkwy to Middle Creek if traffic is backing up. PM me Big Mike if you want directions for the shortcut. It may actually show up on map programs now. Wears Valley Road has a few switchbacks on it which adds a lot of travel time. I'd really only recommend going this route if you are looking for a casual scenic route or if you were arriving at Pigeon Forge in the late afternoon/evening time of a holiday weekend. Traffic would definitely be a nightmare then on U.S. 66. -

Man, I don't know if I would recommend going U.S. 321 if you have never been that way before. You have to turn on Wears Valley Rd. to cut over to Pigeon Forge, it does not go straight to Pigeon Forge. I don't think it is faster time-wise or distance-wise either, but I could be wrong. It might be a little busy heading through Knoxville at lunch time, but the construction is not that bad right now. They will not be closing the interstate until May 1st, all the construction now is off to the side of the road. Besides, you can always take I-640 to bypass downtown which is actually about the same distance as taking I-40 straight through town. Pay attention to the message board signs as you head into town and if it looks there is bad traffic, get on I-640 which will bypass downtown. -

^I just checked to make sure. Sevier County is having spring break this week Mar. 24-28. The county includes Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville. Knox County had spring break last week and Blount County doesn't have spring break until April. Most of your population is in Knox and Blount County so that should be good for crowds. Just to give you an idea, I went on a Friday in April last year during a promotion where all Sevier County citizens got in free. There wasn't much of a crowd difference. -

^^If you can get to the park at or before opening, you can probably get on Thunderhead and Mystery Mine without much wait (no matter what the crowds are). Now, that they have the loop completed you could then ride Splash Battle and head to Tennessee Tornado. Head back down Craftsman Valley and ride Blazing Fury and you will have knocked out all the roller coasters (besides the kiddie one) before the crowds has gotten back there. At that point, I would gauge the crowds to see if you want to get a Q-bot. With the loop in place, the Q-bot will be a lot more efficient to use as you will no longer have two long dead-ends where most of the rides on the system are at. Really, if you think about it, for 10 bucks its almost worth just getting unless the park is absolutely empty. Local schools will be in session Friday, because spring break was last week. You will mainly have out-of-towners on spring break to deal with. Edit: You could easily do the park in 6 hours. -

All the seats on Mystery Mine are the same size. I saw them turn away people last year if they couldn't get all the sensors to light up. The ride-ops did seem like they would try everything they could to get people to be able to ride. -

Thanks for the pictures. Does it look like there is room for new rides along the new path? Or is it just enough room for the pathways towards Tennessee Tornado? Edit: Looks like you added some pictures that answered my question. Quite a bit of clearing on the east of the path. -
I missed the first 10 minutes last night due to a work meeting. I thought the episode was okay. Would of been nice if the episode had concentrated on the island or the ship, instead of Michael spazzing in front of the camera. I definitely think Ben set it up for Kyle and Danielle to be shot. What a bastard, although I can't completely fault him for Kyle. He was a tad on the annoying side.

^^ and ^^^ Thanks for the tips! I was being a little sarcastic about the 180 days thing. I did quite a bit of research on the ADRs (through this site and DISboards) and in the end I decided that I did not want to have a set time that I had to be somewhere. It just didn't fit into the pace of our trip. Still wish I had gone through with getting Teppan Edo reservations though. Hopefully, we will be able to go back to the parks soon and I will definitely take more time to experience the restaurants.
-
If your goal was to make everyone reading this TR hungry, you succeeded! Next time I go to Disney World, I am going to have to try some of the sit-down restaurants. I just hate the idea of making a reservation 180 days in advance, so we did the counter service along with taking advantage of having a kitchen in our time-share. Enjoyed the TR!

The Official 2008 March Madness Thread!

I have Xavier winning. I still can't figure out how Georgia pulled that off. My prediction is that they come back down to earth in the 1st round. -
The Official 2008 March Madness Thread!

My final four: -Tennessee -Kansas -Texas -UCLA This year looks like it will play out a lot like last year with not a lot of major upsets. Of course, anything can happen in March. -
Yeah, that was me. Candace and I started mocking him as soon as we saw him..."Walt! Where's Walt! Where's my son!" Sayid really looked like he wanted to smack him one. and about the bible quote ^^^^ Back when I was reading spoilers, they did mention that the "Others" were headed to some sort of ancient ruins. I think we are supposed to see that as a setting when the show starts back up in April.

^Sawyer saw the boar. Tonight's episode was alright. A couple of "no duh" reveals and one pretty surprising (to me) twist with Jin actually being in a flashback, not a flash-forward. So, did Jin die on the island or once he got off? I couldn't figure out what date his tombstone said, but I thought I saw a 2004. As soon as I saw Michael tonight, I remembered how annoying he was. "My son! They took my son! Walt! They took Walt!" Also, pretty crazy that the crew members of the ship are committing suicide.
-
^Thanks. That makes it pretty obvious then I think if they are revealing two of them at once.
-
^Ben did seem genuinely surprised to find out about there being a doctor on the plane. I thought of something that would support the theory that Ben has dabbled in the "time travel". The tumors on his back could of been caused by being exposed to the radiation that causes it. Also, did the announcer in the previews say that we would find out the final member of the Oceanic Six, or the final members of the Oceanic Six? I am pretty sure he said member, which would mean we already know five members.
-
^^^It is obvious but I didn't want to just blurt it out. ^^I forgot that they had showed us that before about Juliet and Godwyn.
-
Pretty good episode tonight. I liked the flashback a lot. We finally know what the deal between Juliet and Ben is. Here's my short recap. -The "purge" (the event that led to the others taking over the island) was caused by gases released from a power station called The Tempest. Explains why they were wearing gas suits. -Faraday and Charlotte weren't actually imploding a hatch, they were disabling it, so Ben couldn't use it to kill everyone on the island. -Juliet had a thang with Godwyn. Ben killed Godwyn because he is in love with Juliet. This was the reason why Ben brought Juliet to the island. Juliet resembles someone in Ben's past, "the woman in the painting". -Those whispers are back. What the heck are they? -Jack and Juliet, in my opinion, are not as believable a couple as Kate and Sawyer. -Ben tells Locke that the owner of the boat is none other than Penny's father, Charles Widmore. He is trying to find the location the island to exploit it, according to Ben. -Ben tells Locke who is "guy" is on the boat, and Ben is free for now. We of course are teased with this info, because we will not find out till next week. Blah!

^I wouldn't call it a complete disaster. The problem with keeping all the rides the same, is that not everyone loved the nostalgia of them. Disney felt like they needed new rides to freshen things up. Plus, technology and time was catching up with Future World. Same deal with the Tomorrowlands. I just wished they hadn't messed with Figment or taken out Horizons.

Photo AND Video TR: Opening Day at SFOG!
ernierocker replied to Scaparri's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Nice TR. Is this the usual crowds for an opening day? I might have to keep that in my mind for my next SFOG visit. I agree that Ninja isn't that bad of a ride.
