  1. Got back from the park tonight. I'm still soaking it all in, it was incredible! Euromir and EuroSat were hilariously fun. I also ate at the Food Loop and had no idea what to expect, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Can't wait for round 2 tomorrow!
  2. Have any of the other RMC creations had this much of a 'break in' time? It seems like Twisted Colossus is breaking down multiple times a day, every day....
  3. Visiting Europa Park on Wednesday and I'm really excited! I just wanted to know if any of you had any reccomendations for where to eat while in the park so I don't miss out on anything extra special! Did I mention I'm excited?!?
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the bottom of Viper's first drop modified to change the pull out and banking?
  5. ^Definitely true. The popular explanation is that you will find in this thread is 1) Sky Tower's elevators need repair and it's cost prohibitive & 2) It's no longer up to code. Personally, I just think the park doesn't care to spend money running, maintaining, and staffing an attraction that can't even pull 100 people an hour.
  6. I've gotten so used to Xcelerator's faded paint it would be strange seeing it new again, however Tatsu looks downright terrible and it hasn't faded uniformly like Xcelerator has for the most part. Tatsu is quickly approaching Scream's level of fade. Revolution looks bad, but not Tatsu bad. Maybe one day the park won't just paint half of Revolution's track...
  7. Yesterday morning before the park opened I got stuck on the ride for 25 minutes. They were having trouble with the train ahead of us in the station though, not really sure what it was all about. And I have yet to get a single dueling ride on TC yet...
  8. Oh no, not this again! I'm just gonna go ahead and nip this in the bud: Magic Mountain is NOT landlocked. At all. They have room all over the place to build anything they want. How do you know they aren't landlocked? I was told that Newhall Land and Farm owns all of the surrounding areas of the park right up to the backstage access roads. I'm genuinely curious to know if they don't actually own that land.
  9. I'd love to see Magic Mountain build a huge coaster at the back of the park, but I don't even know what their property lines are... For example, the space right behind Apocalypse supposedly isn't even the park's property (even though they have been using it for years). As a matter of fact the park recently cleaned out that entire area and moved a ton of sea trains to directly behind Batman. So it seems like the park doesn't actually own anything behind the access road. Does anyone know where to find actual property lines for Santa Clarita? I've always been curious...
  10. Yeah it's there, it's now Willoughby's Resurrected. The building is actually quite small though, too small for a decent sized dark ride.
  11. Tatsu was built on the side of a hill and was really challenging (expensive) to construct. The total cost of a coaster is more than just the price of manufacturing.
  12. How did you find that number? I've always wanted to know how much it cost but I never could find it... Also, X is one of the more expensive roller coasters built at around $40-$46M when it opened (sources vary on the actual cost) and with the conversion to X2 the coaster has cost the park over $50M. Definitely not cheap.
  13. Right now all of the entertainment offerings are weekends only until June 15th. And Kwerk is about 25 minutes long and will probably get pretty full most weekends.
  14. The park is already filling up the 3rd overflow lot across from Feedmill. So yes it's crowded. Apparently the reason they keep taking the trains off Colossus to buff the wheels is because the track's paint keeps sticking on them. Once the paint gets worn off a good amount they shouldn't need to keep buffing the wheels.
  15. The lights are coming, just a matter of when. Forth train is supposedly going to show up on the transfer track towards the end of summer when they take one of the other three off for maintenance but no sooner. We'll see if that holds true. Also, single rider line supposedly won't be used because they don't want everyone flooding that line and making single rider take just as long as the normal line. Why that's the case, I don't know but that's what I heard.
  16. Wow, that's quite the line. Half the park must be in line waiting for Twisted Colossus right now!
  17. The drone was definitely more expensive than the camera. I got to look at it close up and the camera looked like a typical Canon DSLR or a GH4. No chance it was $30k.
  18. Again, if Twisted Colossus only had 3 trains, I'd have no doubt that we would see two train operation all the time. However it will have four trains which enables the park to have one train constantly in rehab and the other three on the ride. That seems to be Six Flags' strategy on bigger rides with 3 trains: 1 train will always be cannibalized for parts or in rehab. I honestly never expect Tatsu to run with three trains, which sucks.
  19. ^The 4th train will arrive around the end of summer for exactly that reason. The goal is to have a single train always in rehab and the other three always on the ride. I don't think 2 train operation will be very common on a ride that has four.
  20. ^So far, yes. It's impossible to check seatbelts otherwise so I see why they do it.
  21. The seats are staying the same. The new show premieres on Saturday!
  22. ^It's pretty wacky, sets up the rest of the ride nicely. Most people were definitely taken by surprise.
  23. I mean are the restraints hard to push up on other RMC coasters?
  24. Are they tough on all of the RMC trains or just on Twisted Colossus?
  25. I think I would put El Toro ahead of TC, but not by much. El Toro in the back row is a religious experience. I'll see if I like it better than Expedition GeForce when I ride it in a few weeks...
