Age restrictions on rides?
the ghost replied to andre8's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like Disney's "Standards" which I know applies to the Fantasyland rides and potentially all rides around the resort. You must be 7 or older to ride rides ALONE but as long as you meet specified ride requirements anyone can ride any ride, regardless of age. -
I agree with what most of you are saying, but it drives me insane. As a young Socal pass holder(I have had a deluxe pass until this year, but I am currently jobless) I realize a lot of people abuse the hell out of their passes because they are relatively cheap... especially the monthly rate. I was at the event and had a great time, but I saw the drunk people EVERYWHERE, but I just wish that instead they would limit it to just letting a lesser people in. It is INSANE to me though that Disney had such little "quality control" over the event because as everyone mentioned the amount of drunk people were INSANE and many were clearly drunk that I was surprised Disney let people into the park. I even heard from someone on Micechat that people were rolling and smoking joints near the partners statue... absolutely unacceptable.

^ Congrats for the full Disney day and video! I had a midterm yesterday, but I went from Disneyland from 4pm til about 4ish am. The original plan was to leave before 6 and go to my 11pm class, but I played hookey today and just let myself sleep through it. Agreeing with everyone else, though, I had a TON OF FUN yesterday, but it was almost too crowded to even think... Florida looks much nicer.

QueerRudie DOES WCB
the ghost replied to QueerRudie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LOL... RD on X2 was funny. Loving this TR, Rude Dude, was awesome to hang out with you and all the awesome people I met this weekend! -
I want to thank EVERYONE involved for the awesomeness of WCB! It was a blast and the Knott's day exceeded my expectations IMMENSELY! I also want to give a shoutout to all the awesome people I met and hung out with! Let's do it again next year! Also a special shoutout to the people who sang "We Love you Monte" at the end of the night after my "brief" last minute Monte marathon... but I got something like 13 to 15 rides overall! That song alone would have made my day. Overall an awesome time had at both parks and can't wait to do it again. Also VERY excited for Haunt after yesterday!

THIS IS CHANNEL 4 WORLD NEWS Recently a small fire took place in the Adventure Kingdom Resort. Although there were no serious injuries major damage occurred in the parks UK themed section. The parks spokesperson has told news reporters that the area has been closed off as the park rushes to clean up the area as fast as possible. According to an unofficial(but reputable) anonymous source has revealed that the park is planning on adding a dark ride in the coming seasons to replace the fire damaged area. This has been our local news report!

West Coast Bash 2012! TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks Robb... that helps a lot. Not that I was worried because those are four good coasters, I was just hoping there was a chance for more coasters. This gives me a lot more confidence! Thanks and see you and everyone on Saturday/Sunday! -
West Coast Bash 2012! TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Not that this is at all a complaint, but is SFMM's ERT the GUARANTEED ERT list or is there "potential" that they will announce more ERT during the day? It just seems strange that they would do that considering the last three years they've opened EVERY RIDE in the park for us. However, both days sound AWESOME... especially(to me) the Knott's day! QUEST IS BACK!!!!!! -
I have a job interview... AT DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!

West Coast Bash 2012! TICKETS ON SALE NOW!
the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am SO EXCITED for this years bash! I am bringing two people to Six Flags who have never been there which should be a lot of fun as they have not really been on many coasters. Also the Knott's day looks like it will top last years... and I had a great time last year so I am VERY excited! Although to be honest just a lack of rain would top last year(even though the rain made it fun in a way) but the tours and everything sound absolutely amazing and I am VERY happy that these are all new tours meaning I did not do them last year. Nine days left! And as an added bonus my 50th credit. It may be a small milestone, but I am VERY happy to have ridden fifty coasters... although that number will skyrocket in the future when I finally have money! The EXCITED Ghost -

What Movies are You Looking Forward to Seeing 2012?
the ghost replied to Someotherguyuser's topic in Random, Random, Random
No love for Django Unchained? -
1. Louis C.K. The Golden God of contemporary comedy... very relocatable and very raw and in my opinion our generations Carlin. 2. Paul F Tompkins: The best voice work guy as well as an absolutely amazing standup 3. Patton Oswalt: Another favorite of mine... the nerd in me LOVES Patton! 4. Andy Daly: He doesn't do standup... but his improv work is AMAZING! Another great character actor with PFT 5. Harris Wittels: I don't know if he actually performs standup... but he is a great performer(a frequent podcaster) and is one of the head writers for one of my favorite shows... parks and recreation. PODCASTERS------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please don't edit this part out... these are only comedy podcasts. The Earwolf Network is an amazing place to hear up and coming comics... hosted by Scott Auckerman aka Hot Saucerman aka What's Up Hot Dog? WTF: Marc Maron is a skilled and awesome interviewer... some awesome guests there including interviews from Robin Williams and Conan O'Brian. Nerdist Network: Where nerdiness and comedy blend into one!

the ghost replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A water challenge would be AMAZING this year... especially on Sierra Sidewinder. Just putting it out there. Also I don't know if this is a surprise or not, but will the insanely fun and awesome TPR quest be making it's way back to Knott's this year? I really enjoyed it last year... especially the dude who brought out 5 apple pies when Robb asked for 5 apple products. Damn good times! I'm EXCITED! Bringing 2 people to the mountain who have never been been there before and both are very excited cause I hyped up West Coast Bash like CRAZY! I can't wait! -
Another SyFy Movie Chat Night!

I'll see what I can do. I really am missing A TON of stuff this weekend due to speech and debate. I may be home in time for this though! -
This is ESPECIALLY surreal to me because I worked there for three years. Growing up in the Irvine area I know TONS of people whose first job was working at Wild Rivers. I wasn't a huge fan of this place just because it got SO CROWDED and I went there SO MANY times my first year working there(2 to 3 times a week to play in the park) but this place will be missed. I also agree that Bombay Blasters was one of the best slides anywhere... although I was sort of an abyss fanboy. On a semi unrelated note can anyone just poke around the deconstruction site? If so I would really like to go and take a look at this. I know the park like the back of my hand so it would be cool to get "up close and personal" with the park as I only live 10ish minutes or so away.

Now I have to take out my joke about Paterno in my speech to entertain... maybe.
