  1. Fantastic work, Title Fairy.
  2. I didn't even go to an American park this year, so I can't vote.
  3. 1. Awesome update. Glad to see things are on track! 2. For some reason, I'm loving that Mattias has a coaster count in his signature!
  4. I think it's a great addition. That area of the park really needed something, and I think it will look great right next to the water. I've heard great things about the model at SFFT. As for the capacity, unless they're tearing down some of their other rides, I don't think it's that big of a concern after the 2016 season... Great Adventure has always had one of the best collections of rides, and adding this only makes it that much stronger.
  5. I think some people are answering a different question than what the thread is asking. This isn't an underrated ride thread, this is rides that you yourself forget about. Someone mentioned it earlier, but I like the choice of Bizarro at SFGAdv. I always enjoy the ride, but I never think about it until I'm over by El Toro and heading into that back corner of the park.
  6. I didn't see Frozen Dirty Shirleys or "Wine in a bag on I-95" on the menu.
  7. And they had just 'fixed' Gao and even replaced giant track sections! Imagine what it used to be like. Oh, god. Any time that ride didn't go straight, it was instant pain. I can't even imagine the old version. At least the dino driving the train was cool.
  8. ^I actually really liked almost all of the Jet Coasters. Except for Gao at Greenland. That was pretty terrible.
  9. Nice pictures, as always, Hanno! Surf Rider was probably the most surprisingly fun ride on the trip for me.
  10. Outside of the 10 or so days that the State Fair is running, that really has nothing to do with attendance at the park. I'm guessing it's busy in the weeks leading up to it because it's July.
  11. I think a lot of people from Iowa go to Adventureland. You can add eastern Nebraska, but that only grows the population by about 1 million more. At the end of the day, Cedar Fair is focusing on a larger market area with higher growth rates for the return on their investment (ROI). It just business. I also think having Silver Dollar City, Six Flags and Adventureland in this same market zone affects growth potential for WOF. Carowinds closes big competitors is Six Flags in Atlanta, Dollywood in Tennessee and Busch Gardens up in Virginia (all different market zones with their own major population base). Even with Adventureland, they still mostly come down to WOF. I'm not sure that I agree with that. While you might have people like me (i.e. coaster fans) who would rather drive 3 hours to WoF instead of 20 minutes to Adventureland, they've actually been packing them in the last few years at Adventureland. The water park expansion from a few years ago has really helped the park's attendance, and probably helped with the addition of The Monster next season. I know a ton of families that have purchased season passes and their kids go there nearly every day throughout the summer.
  12. Phoenix isn't my #1, but it's up there. With that said, I don't think that there's a ride that I have more fun on. Probably the most re-rideable ride out there. Airtime, airtime, airtime. The 2 night glow rides I've done with TPR were absolutely incredible. I don't think I'm going to get out to Knoebels this year.
  13. Oh, what a shame. I'm sure someone like Rick could make two trips in a row work out. Is he better at this than you? I guess there has to be one thing he's good at. I head to London the weekend after WCB, thats alot further than Colorado I guess my dream of riding Speedy Gonzales with you wont come true It's more of a money issue than anything. I'm guessing your flights are all paid for by your company, or points that you've earned. Also Rick, I care about friends more than coasters, so a good friend's wedding trumps WCB.

  15. Just saw the e-mail with the announcement. That's incredible, I'm just sad now because I'm not going to be able to make it to WCB now. I have a wedding in Colorado the following weekend that I have to attend, so 2 straight trips just won't work. Have fun, everyone!
  16. I rank it in my bottom 10. I absolutely refuse to ride it.
  17. How would they be able to even get that information? License plates? Im assuming debit/credit card transitions But that wouldnt count the large % that pay cash. It's called an estimate. Unless they is reason to believe someone from Michigan is significantly more likely (or less likely) to use cash. And what "large %" of people pay cash in 2015? I'd be surprised if more than 10-15% of guests paid cash for tickets. That even sounds high to me...
  18. Ok, here's my dumb question du jour ... what is a "chaperoned event?" Seriously, in all my years, I've never heard of such a thing?! An event with chaperones, i.e. kids under the age of 18.
  19. Going by things that I've ridden: I-305 Skyrush Haven't done a Hybrid, but I'd pick Wicked Cyclone Montu El Toro, Balder Maverick Phoenix, Helix, Kumba
  20. I can't say this for a certainty, but I believe names are trademarked along ride types. Since that was not a roller coaster, and this is, it is okay for both to utilize the same name. If that is incorrect, somebody who is more familiar with Trademark Law can pitch in, and clarify! No that's incorrect. It's by industry. Hmmm... How do you explain both coasters being the same name then? I'm assuming Adventureland must not have trademarked it, but does that mean KK can't either? Easy explanation... Storm Chaser at Adventureland is a Wind Seeker, not a roller coaster. Well, that's what I suggested up above, but was told it was "incorrect." That certainly makes more sense to me than Adventureland simply not trademarking the name! Sorry, I was only answering your last post where you said they were both coasters.

  22. ^ Send me your address, Rick. I'll gladly pay double if it means that you won't be there!
