Well, I was at the park on thursday for the second time this year, and I have made some excellent observations. First, even with a 1 train operation, it was still abhorred riding Apocalypse. Average time between load-dispatch-unload was 6 mins. The ride ops were the worse group of any in the park. Thank god we ended up doing the sliver flash pass, otherwise, I would have totally skipped the 1.5 hour wait for the coaster. Tatsu was generally fine, two trains and the crew was getting them thru fairly quickly. Again, thank God for the flash pass...got thru X2(no audio), Deja Vu, Goliath and Riddlers without the 1 hour lines. I will always buy the pass from now on. Now, I finally took the time to really take in the park this trip and to make some good observations. First, the park was fairly clean, kudos to maintenance for that. DC Universe looked like it was coming along fine(more on that later). My number one discovery....please, please, please, no new flat rides until they can maintain what they have. I know the flats in DC land are being freshened up, but good lord, I had NEVER noticed the huge holes, missing planks in the bottom of the pirate ship! Thats plain awful. They should be embarrassed by that. Not to mention the rest of it looked as if it was some old pontiac with different colored fenders or sandblasted parts all over it. Not to mention the front entrance of the two rides...geez, please fix that up first. As for the new themed arch to DC Universe, I am all for theming at a park, if they can maintain it, but how long till those superhero prints on the arch start fading and looking like the roller coaster images that are in the arches by Viper. If they are going to do it, they need to maintain it, thats all I am saying. Finally, the bathrooms were horrible...worst I have seen in years(with the exception of the restrooms by Goliath). Heres a question the the females on the site(if any)....do girls trash the bathrooms as bad as guys? Are the womens rooms generally cleaner or just as bad? Oh, and RRE is a great addition to the park. My only other complaint, is it was just too damn hot...how about some misters?!

No way ... that's WAY out of the way. Honestly, you will be fine if when you get to the 15 you take it north to the 210 and then take the 210 straight to the 5. You will totally bypass Carmageddon. There may still be a little bit more traffic than normal, but nowhere near taking a 100 mile detour. I have actually taken this detour many times coming in from Vegas, and it shaves about 30 mins off the trip as opposed to driving thru the city....if theres traffic that is

If you come in on the 10 from Phoenix, your screwed traffic wise no matter what...unless you try like 2;30 in the morning....with the 405 closed, traffic will be so much worse than normal...if you go north to the 40, then to the 15 and come in that way, you can always take my short cut,in Victorville, which is the 18 west to the 14 in Palmdale, then the 14 down to the 5...basically puts you 10 mins from the park....but, Like with me, I think your screwed either way this weekend

geez...I thought the Carmaggedon had passed already....damn, I will be there in LA that weekend as well...sigh

were not being watched, if you would have read a few pages back, I was the one who posted that Screamscape is now posting a new thrill ride is coming to the park....please read the posts first.

I am praying for a Rock-O-Plane or Paratrooper....you know how many carnival rides you can buy for the price of one major thril ride? j/k

Screamscape is now reprting that Magic Mountain WILL be getting a new thrill ride for 2012, and it WONT be a rollercoaster! Let the guessing begin!

Its really not newsworthy...how many people injure themselves every day, on both public and private transportation for example...do you hear about it. when its something minor? Oh hey, breaking news, fat person gets stuck in turnstile on the subway, does it/should it make the news? Person gets thrown in front of oncoming metro train by jilted lover, or retard tries to retrieve hat under Batman coaster and gets beheaded as a result...thats newsworthy...(of course, this is all speculation that this ti-ot-su injury was minor)....a helicopter, sheez!

Nothing is original unfortunately, on M and V's facebook page, they posted that there were NO groundplans of the ride anymore, so most of it was done by guessing and by viewing old photos of the ride.....the trains are from either Beech bend or Myrtle beach....I cant remember which.

The wizard and trolls weren't exclusive to just Magic Mountain. Back in the late 60's and thru the 70's, mystical beings, trolls, wizards, dragons, were popping up as new mascots for several parks around the country. I always liked the idea, though they were really creepy looking(mostly because how they were made).

Chaos rides are/were so notorious for breakdowns that most parks couldn't get rid of them fast enough....

I think an update of the graphics are really the only thing needed, if that...the format works perfectly actually otherwise.

I think two other area primed fro redevelopment with "family/kids" rides would be up by Katies Corner...they need to get rid of that games area...put something new in there...or at least a serious flat there...and up by Ninja...between Ninja and the Tower is a perfect area for redevlopment, and if done right, could bring the crowds back up to the top of the hill...there, just wanted to get my 2 cents in....I also wish the park would have the money to demolish all of the old ride stations/remnants/unused parts that are scattered around....old Dragon Station, Revolution queue by X2 and that station for Eagle's Flight....there just all in such a state of decay....there, another 2 cents...

They need to get rid of the Batman Stunt Arena or whatever that is still used for and put in a large Splash Battle!

I think the perfect spot for another family/kids area is to get rid of the dining area where Panda Express is by Viper, move the dining up to where the old queue for Revolution, and turn the present dining area into a whole new kids area.....

^ Felt the same way about the shading issue....reminds me of when Jazzland opened...it had like NO trees and little shade structures...in the brutal New Orleans Summer heat! It was awful...it also just makes the park look so incomplete...

I think RRE will be a great addition to the park....they needed another family coaster. Of course, I think there were better places to put it, but oh well!

For me, personally, anything over 45 mins is unacceptable for any coaster at that park...but, realisitcally, anything over 1.5 hours is unacceptable, shoot, during the summer, anything over 20 mins is unacceptable!
