Hi there- welcome! I've used this site many times to look up the good old days of mga: http://greatamericaparks.com/ Next time I go to Chicago I am 100% going to be hitting up sfgam to see how that park looks compared to our west coast ga.

I was just at SFMM riding terminator and had some of the best times on a wooden coaster. That thing flies and is so smooth around turns, almost no jerkiness. Then I rode Roar at SFDK last weekend and had a completely opposite experience. I wanted to get off that thing pretty much right when it started. Totally uncomfortable, jacking my whole body around making my head hurt. That got me worried. I have a good feeling that GS is gonna be more like the SFMM GCI which was great- also with the way that CGA is taking care of that piece of crap Grizzly we should be all good with GS staying smooth for a while. Think I might head out to the park for some live Gold Porn & the pink butthole slide tonight. Was delirium open for you guys when you went?

Quick question to you guys with season passes- I purchased one for my trip last weekend to SFMM. I printed the ticket out & scanned it to get it, but never got it processed. Can I still get in with that print out at SFDK?

I am planning on going on Sunday as well... The weather report as of today is projecting rain which is unfortunate, but could most definitely change. With 1 train operation what kind of line does Roar usually have?

Heading down to Valencia tomorrow for a full Saturday at the park- whats the over/under on crowds? Still run to X2 first?

Just got my room @ Valencia Hotels | Hilton Garden Inn Valencia Six Flags | Valencia, CA for December 7-9. Hope the park is kind to me with regards to lines on the 8th. Look forward to checking out the YOLO construction and getting some rides on Lex Luther! Hopefully I do not arrive to see Marty Moose telling me park is closed for repairs. Wouldn't want to have to hold up John Candy with a BB gun

Is the consensus still that the park will be fairly empty on Saturday 11/24?

Neverending Story style. Look forward to this, should be a good time cruising around the park for a few hours. Not a ton of rides, but the lights and shows should make up for the rest.

Was considering doing a road trip down to SFMM Sat November 10th and then possibly Knotts Sunday November 11th. Would most rides be open for that date? Any idea of crowds? The calender says it's a 10:30-8pm day...

I took the weekend off from GA as the lines are getting out of hand now- even last Sunday Flight Deck's line was 20 mins. Definitely looking forward to updates on the striker though

I was at CGA for Haunt last Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a mess! Way too many people, made it nearly impossible to get to even 1/2 of everything. Sunday was a dream come true... got there at 6:30 and cruised around to everything a few times and even got out at 11pm. I haven't gone on a Friday yet... how do you guys think this Friday will be? It is my understanding that to get the fast pass for the night you'd have to buy 1 for the mazes and then 1 for the rides which would be way too much for something I've done 3 times already- how do you think the crowds will be? ps- thanks for all the awesome gold striker updates. I check this thread all the time cause they are quality posts!

I thought it might be busy cause they are open a full 10am-8pm all next week as in they are anticipating large crowds. Evidently not! Anybody have cheap places to stay nearby? If you know how to use Priceline the Hyatt Valencia comes up with winning bids between $45-$60 and the hotel straight up books around $140 ... look at biddingfortravel .com for strategies on bidding ... And the Hyatt is in a great location but I think it dosent offer shuttle to SFMM... ............. Here is a example of someones winning bid. Hope you understand it as I do but I sure wont explain it at this time unless we are face to face as hard at times to explain re-bids....................... Bid one day before arrival using the biddingfortravel Priceline hotel link. Used several free rebids. A $60 counteroffer was provided on a $42 bid; declined and continued up. Eventually $52 failed and $54 was successful to get this. Published rate was $139 for that night. One night (a Thursday night), one room, total $68.55 with taxes and fees Thank you for the info! I never tried the negotiator, just saw a million commercials. I ended up getting the Marriot Fairfield Inn Santa Clarita which looks okay for $57. Definitely looking forward to a dead day at the park tomorrow! It would be a first for me, every time I've gone its been a race to X2 when the gate opens!

We went on the 30th (or something) last year, and the park was DEAD. We'll be heading up there one day next week, not sure what day yet. Not planning on getting our SP's until WCB most likely. Hey guys, I finally have some time off from work to visit the park next week. I wanted to see if anybody had experience going during this time- whether it is busy or not. Ideally I can make it sometime between Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th. Any recommendations or insight is much appreciated!

I am heading there Thursday and am going to take all of the advice given so far. What do you think the crowds are going to be like?

I just tried it, it still was giving me the $24.99 ticket price. Mybe they just don't like you lol. Are you also getting the $29.99 deal, that lets you visit any day in 2009? I typed in a coupon code for that one because I was planning on visiting after this Friday, but our plans changed. I think since I typed in that coupon code, it isn't giving me the $24.99 deal. I did the $24.99 ticket too and it came out to 29.99 with the 'print it out' service fee of $5. there were other options for ticket 'delivery' that cost different amounts like airmail/ground mail/ups etc. I chose to do the easy delivery and paid to use my printer. ** still no word on how the weekday crowds are recently? going on wednesday and wanted to see if anybody had some feedback on it.

I have a noob question about the park too. I am from northern California and am going to visit the park this coming Wednesday. What kind of traffic should I expect at the park? Is it changing day to day or should I be thinking about supplementing my ticket with a gold flash pass? thanks

I agree, but at the end of the day its still the same ride and I'm going to have just as much fun on it as I did before Especially with the new extended summer hours. Flight Deck till 10pm!!!! I cant wait to ride this in the dark! i love you queef. we will create incredible memories at this park this year. you are numero uno in my themeparkreview book.
