  1. Get there early and do the chopfest that is mentioned above. It's something like $15 extra, but will get you into the park early so you can ride goldstriker (which will be an hour+ wait during haunt). All rides are open. It's gonna be very busy so my advice is to do the chopfest, get all the goldstriker out of your system, when they let the rope down at 7 run to Slaughterhouse, madame marie, cornstalkers, toy factory, zombie high... then from there it's gonna be a flustercluck. Be ready to wait wait wait... .unless you get a fast pass for the rides?
  2. Last Saturday the parking lot was full, it took 40 minutes to get into the park with a 6:45 arrival. The lines were minimum hour each, but I have to say that it's more fun when the park has lots of people running around. The 2 Sundays I've been to have been a bit drab. Hope tomorrow is less crowded than last Saturday and more fun than the previous Sunday!
  3. Whoa! I had no idea it was that expensive Definitely appreciate the info... gonna take the plunge no matter what I think. Does anybody know if disney/disneyland employees get discounts on california adventure tickets?
  4. Hey guys- heading to California Adventure tomorrow (can't wait to finally check out Cars Land!!) from San Francisco, but haven't purchased tickets yet. Any ideas on places to get discounted tickets for 2 people? We will only be going to DCA, not Disneyland...
  5. do you mean the log ride won't be done up as a haunt feature this season?
  6. Hit it all! Get a wristband and go at it. Do not miss the cave train and the lazer tag haunted car ride down in the kids area... those are both awesome. Try out fright walk too, only $5!
  7. Wish I could! Gotta sushi date @ 7:30 which will probably bleed into 9 o'clockish. Please be so kind as to steal the line cutters sharpies for me & take pix! This is cut & have your season pass revoked day
  8. I'm there 'queefa. Probably gonna arrive around 6:30/7- can't wait for that ERT on Vortex Let's Strike it up!
  9. Does that mean that Club Blood is gone then? Subtract a maze and add a maze?
  10. Went over to CGA for an hour at 11:00 today and GS line was out to the front! I totally forgot about the wheel until I saw it and didn't have any cash on me The few I saw spin hit the front of the line right away (2 of the people that won actually hit just off the front of the line and the guy gave it to them anyway) . Would have gladly paid the $3 to skip that line. Beats the $40 fast pass which is only needed for GS anyway Next time I am definitely bringing some cash cause lunch hour trips to the park and long GS lines don't work too well!
  11. Wish I woulda called before I came over here, too bad they weren't honest w the person who posted earlier
  12. Best news all week! Gonna get striking later around 6 I think It must have been crazy with the temps yesterday, I applaud you guys for braving the park on such a hot day. You've convinced me to try out row 2 again... I've been such a sucker for row 4 lately, but I am not in any committed relationships so whatever
  13. Headed out to the Boardwalk for some Corey Haim and Feldman action with Lost Boys playing on the beach tonight- got a few pix of Undertow along the way. The cars are still wrapped up... hope they bust those suckers loose soon!
  14. Love the rain!! Got on GS 5 times in 30 minutes today, tried the front, back, row 8, row 2 and row 4. Definitely thought row 4 was the best- what's everyone elses favorite spots? I'm usually all about the back on coasters, but this one seems to have the most pop in row 4/5...
  15. you could walk faster than the train during that first turn around.
  16. Adding on to vandalism in the GS queue- when I was there on Thursday afternoon some gangsta kids behind me were mimicking carving into the wooden rail with their thumb on the stairs going up to the station and out of nowhere a CGA employee came out and ripped those sucka's out of line Hope this place isn't a wreck tomorrow, gonna have another go at lunch! Are you in Laqueefa?
  17. Quick Question- I have a free southwest ticket that I was thinking of using to check out SFGA sometime this month. Looks like the park is about an hour from the Midway Airport- Are there any recommended hotels to stay at nearby? How would a Friday 6/21 or Friday 6/28 be for wait times at the park? Really looking forward to comparing/contrasting my home park CGA to this GA (and being very jealous of how much more awesome it is )
  18. Good little lunch run in at the park today... however it looks like it's still 8th grade grad days with kids all over the place. Even with all the school buses full of kids the Gold Striker line was to the first little tunnel at 12:15! Not bad compared to the mess on Saturday/Sunday. Got my first ride in the back and that was f'n quick! Really can't stop thinking about that ride... those little air time pops are too much fun. in 2 hrs got in Gold Striker twice, tiki twirl, delirium and flight deck. love working close to the park! Saw Flag o dimm on my way out too, hey now
  19. Awesome update and review of the event! My first ride on gold striker tonight at 10:00pm was unbelievable! It's hard to describe how fast this thing is and how much air you get!! It felt like the train was doing bunny hops over the track there was so much air time... Just crazy. Doesn't even compare to Apocalypse. Hope to get a first ride in tomorrow getting there early at 9:30! Laqueefa was right about getting the fast pass for this. I can't imagine that line in the middle of the day. The heat would be unbearable... they gotta cover that up quick
  20. does that mean it's open today? like go there right now and get a ride?
  21. Hi there- welcome! I've used this site many times to look up the good old days of mga: http://greatamericaparks.com/ Next time I go to Chicago I am 100% going to be hitting up sfgam to see how that park looks compared to our west coast ga.
  22. I was just at SFMM riding terminator and had some of the best times on a wooden coaster. That thing flies and is so smooth around turns, almost no jerkiness. Then I rode Roar at SFDK last weekend and had a completely opposite experience. I wanted to get off that thing pretty much right when it started. Totally uncomfortable, jacking my whole body around making my head hurt. That got me worried. I have a good feeling that GS is gonna be more like the SFMM GCI which was great- also with the way that CGA is taking care of that piece of crap Grizzly we should be all good with GS staying smooth for a while. Think I might head out to the park for some live Gold Porn & the pink butthole slide tonight. Was delirium open for you guys when you went?
  23. Good meeting you at the swings Angry Gumball! That place was like a freezer yesterday. Viva 93.3 LA RAZZZZZZZZA!
