  1. I was there as well and was suprised that it was open. There was a good 1/2 hour wait to ride and the queue was down one switchback. Let's talk about the trains. I found them to be MUCH better than the old ones with plenty of arm space, comfortable restraints and with nothing coming near your head. It is almost pretty much impossible for your head to hit the restraint (I checked). As for the experience....I now consider it to be up there with Great Bear, Storm Runner, Fahrenheit, and Lightning Racer as one of the best coasters in the park (Not the best, but still packs a punch). Going through the corba roll was smooth, the loop was intense, but taking it in reverse was the most intense part of the ride. There was hardly a rough patch during my rides, no head-banging what-so-ever and most importantly, no headache! The only negative part I found was that the backrests of the seats were kind of hard and if you kept your head against it, it can hurt. What I've done to solve this was to keep my head away from it. As for Attraction 2012, they have started digging along the hillside next to the road (close to where that first turn would be according to the blueprint. Speaking of the blueprints, I am 80% sure that the stakes down now match up to the blueprints. I am basing on the close proximity to where they would be built according to the blueprint in the area of Comet. Also, Lightning Racer's queue overflow has been fenced up and some of the fensing inside is missing.
  2. If the stakes out in the park right now match up with the footers in the blueprint, then it makes it very likely. I'll stop by this afternoon to check it out.
  3. No, its going to be the world's tallest Vault slushie stand. It's confirmed!
  4. Two new updates to the website from their brand-new Press Release page: http://www.rideinstitute.com/pressReleases.php Also:
  5. There was a new story in today's paper about the Ride Institute game: http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/04/hersheypark_uses_website_to_re.html While it wasn't posted on the online story, an image showing a layout was pictured: The photo was taken at a township meeting a week or two ago by someone at our site. This seems to be screaming Intamin all over given the lack of supports for where the lift hill may be.
  6. Reading through the Research section, I'm seeing mentions of topics that make a multi-dimension coaster come to mind: Thinking back to my high school physics days, Newton's Theory of Gravitation deals with Earth's gravitation and it's magnetic field as well as vectors. On a coaster such as X and Eejanika, the way the seats spin is controlled by track and not gravity, weight, or mass. Another interesting topic is mentioned in the Interdisciplinary Studies section. Gravity Manipulation, which I'm guessing is to defy gravity, is almost impossible to do. Thinking back to the preview site, Project Alpha dealed with this kind of thing (after searching on wikipedia for it). As for Colorado, Wisdom Rides is located in that state, but i doubt that Hershey will be getting a 200ft Miner Mike. As for parks, Lakeside and Elitch and two or three other small parks are the only ones that exist there. I'd like to think S&S Arrow, and Rocky Mtn. Coasters but they're in Utah. Just some thoughts.
  7. The shield has 11 stars for 11 current coasters and the griffon is holding a golden 12th star. I've been looking into the griffon itself and found several coat-of-arms that hold an image similar to it mostly dealing with Germany. Also, inside the park, there are two buildings in the Rhineland area that have a coat-of-arms with a picture of a griffon (Zoo America Outpost and The Right Stuff gift shops). The thing about those griffons is that one has no wings, but looks somewhat similar to the one in the logo and the other is painted blue and is facing a different direction. Another interesting find is that the text font for the RIT name is similar to Intamin's company logo.
  8. I've tried just about every coaster enthusiast website that I could think of that has been involved and not involved in the Nantimi game. I know our site doesn't have anything (unless they hacked on to the site, which I doubt), but I do have to wonder if maybe the last logo isn't on the internet, but at the park? Also about the numbers, could they be decoded into a series of letters as well? I'm starting to look forward more to the storyline more than to the coaster. I'm liking how detailed they are getting with the characters and the concepts involved. Only if Prince Desmond was involved would it be more interesting.
  9. A friend of mine was looking at the coding of the site: On the about page: http://www.rideinstitute.com/about.php Ran it through Google Translate and it comes up as the word "twelve" in German. I also found something else interesting on the About page: I am also starting to wonder if these are the same 4 characters that gave us the envolope back in October. I do know that Dr. Andersson was the one who we "were" going to interview, but for some appearent reason, had to leave the country.
  10. I forgot to note that the park had a contest on facebook a few months ago and invited fans to name the restaurant. I do remember better names that were mentioned in the contest than this though. Hot Dog Stall #1 might work better.
  11. We now know what the new restaurant in Tudor Grill's building is going to be called: In addition, I have another Attraction 2012 Update: http://keystonethrills.wordpress.com/2011/04/11/hersheypark-attraction-2012-update-18-from-ccron10/ They have divided the lake in half and are pumping the water out of the side closer to the road.
  12. Brand-new update on the Keystone Thrills blog: http://keystonethrills.wordpress.com/2011/04/08/attraction-2012-update-17-from-gb980109/ Much of the lake has been dug up and they are now working in the area next to Comet's first drop.
  13. Maybe the park was hoping NOT to get it approved and then Cedar Fair would have to give them something better?!?! Quite Possible. They may have wanted to use the negativity of the neighbors to maybe try to prevent it from being built. Now that it seems that they seem to have no problem with it, the plan probably back-fired when in the past, they've been trying to block everything else (Hydra, Voodoo, etc.) from being built. lol
  14. This is probably about the same amount of time that it took Voodoo from being shipped from Ohio, to being refurbished and repainted, to clearing and construction till opening. May 2012 sounds like a good idea. By the way, I find it kind of funny that the park keeps going to them to ask permission to add something when some of the projects don't require them to get their permission. It sounds like this one could've almost have been just an automatic build.
  15. The first inversion on the left looks like an inverted top-hat that exits in a different direction. I looks a little bit like a corkscrew as well. As for the second one, looks like a different version of a cobra roll. Interesting... EDIT: Ah, I see the first inversion is an wide-loop instead of a top hat. But they both look like they kick a$$.
  16. New trains for Sidewinder is a welcome improvement and is much-needed. The park had been trying to make it better for the last season and it's good to see that they made the change. As for it's opening day, it's name is not on the Springtime ride list, but given how it sometimes isn't accurate, I guess we'll find out in a week.
  17. Awesome pics as usual Hanno. It looks cool, but strange how the station and pre-lift turn look like it's just sitting on the ground with no supports. Hopefully this ride-type catches on.
  18. ^ I think it depends on whether kids are in school or not, but given how my school doesn't have off that day, it shouldn't be a problem. I went by the park this evening and Trailblazer's trains are in the transfer track and storage area before the lift hill. As for Storm Runner, I did see one of the trains inside the station and the winter covers are off of the Music Express cars. As for the Ferris Wheel rehab, nothing looks different.
  19. New Update posted: http://keystonethrills.webs.com/attraction2012updates.htm More excavation has been going on in the lake this week. Unfortunately they had to switch off the pumps because of the rain we've had recently. 3 weeks until opening day.
  20. Screamscape: *Sigh* This is starting to get old. Here we go again.
  21. So what part of Nigeria will it be built in? The desert part or rain forest part? I'm hoping the desert so that we can see it buried in sand.
  22. ^^I'd only agree with this if it looks one got embedded into the front hood of the trains. If this happens, it would make the Karate Kid wraps look like a lot better. Let's see... Smurf Toro Blue Lantern Smurfman: the Ride Superman:Escape from Smurf Kingda Smurf This should be interesting to see.
  23. Right now the park is shooting for an August 2nd announcement date from what I've heard. Construction-wise, here are some photos posted at keystone Thrills of the creek being dammed up: http://keystonethrills.webs.com/attraction2012updates.htm
  24. I wonder if it could have anything to do with Son of Beast... Sounds like a good *bleep*in' teaser if you ask me.
