  1. So it's a butt plug then?
  2. ^ Well yeah. Paramount purchased the Kings parks, and Carowinds was one of them along with Kings Dominion and Kings Island.
  3. I kind of think it is a good idea to be aggressive in this kind of economic climate. However, that is only if something is a good idea. This Six Flags haircutting nonsense....... not that great of an idea.
  4. Absolutely not. Hence is why I said the bacon form is the grossest.
  5. ^^ That might be the most disgusting thing I have ever seen.
  6. So I started my new job last week. I now work within the amusement industry - for a ticket manufacturer. I never thought so much went into tickets! During training at headquarters, I had the opportunity to get a lot of samples to take back to the new sales office that will open in the Phildelphia area in a few weeks. I came across a lot of things from season tickets, to car wash books, to tickets for the Oscars...... and of course amusement park tickets! And believe me, I scored a ton. So I figured I would start a thread to show off some of the goods, and talk about a little bit of my new found knowledge of the printing industry. I'll try to post something new every couple of days to keep it current and relevant. Of course, I will keep my company confidential. If you know who I work for, or figure it out along the way, feel free to say something, but I won't get too hardcore into it. I won't post anything from a park in which my company has a confidentiality agreement with. Everything else is fair game! I'll start off with something pretty simple, but of course, took a lot of hard work and planning to print the final product. Here are a couple of attached flat tickets for Thunder Creek Speedway at my home park, Dorney Park. They are your typical flat tickets, printed on safety stock, which has a UV security feature, along with diamonds on it. It also has a red '05 printed in the top left for security reasons as well.
  7. I thought Arrow designed the original Aquatrax and then sold the rights to S&S. All of this just makes me so confused all of the time.....
  8. Alright, so I'm back from training and I'm on my new computer, working remotely for a few weeks. I figured I would use some of my lunch break to post a little something that I made a couple weekends ago. I figured I would be nice and make a nice breakfast before I left to go up to Elysburg. This is what I made. Chocolate pancakes, Oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins and a fruit smoothie And breakfast is served. Overall, the batter made 6 pancakes. Add some brown sugar and raisins to taste. About 10 minutes and a few stirs later, the oatmeal is done. Nice and brown. It looks a little browner than what it is because of the chocolatey goodness. You will start to see bubbles forming at the top of the pancake when the other side is just about done. That means you flip it. The spoon I use is like the perfect size. Now time to spoon the pancake batter. All done. This thing works pretty well too. I'm running a little late this morning, so I don't want to clean up a huge mess, thus I hold down the top to the blender. Then the rest of everything you saw, with a little more ice to top it off. First a little water and ice in the blender. While waiting for the oats to get done, and for the pan to heat up for the pancakes, I make the smoothie. A banana, orange juice, and frozen strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. I then got this thing out. It is the best thing I have to make pancakes on. I would much rather have a griddle or something, but this will be good for now. Non-stick, and on medium heat. And, as they say it in the dirty south, sturred. With the batter mixed, I noticed the water for the oatmeal was boiling, so I added a cup of oats to the 2 cups of water. Then I added the cocoa powder. I added about a 1/16 of a cup. I didn't want to add too much to it because then it would have just tasted like crap. Have you ever licked straight cocoa powder before? I have. Mix it all together and you come up with this. Not too thick, not too thin. I think I added about an 1/8 of a cup more soy milk to get it mixed to this with no lumps. Next, a cup of soy milk. Of course, if you didn't learn from the last time..... you fill it. Here we have the dry ingredients for the pancakes - 1 cup flour, Tb sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt. Along with 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Here is that empty bowl again. And what do we do with an empty bowl? Blast the stove, and put 2 cups of water into a pot. And here is what will be used for the other attraction of the morning. No quick or instant oat crap here! Here is a line of all the ingredients that will be needed for the main event, the chocolate pancakes. Now, I normally make chocolate chip pancakes, but no chocolate chips in the house. So I figured I would experiment a little bit.
  9. True. But the hairpins, curls and sharp edges really give it some volume. However, I have a really hard time believing this gimmick won't fade.
  10. Just booked our Orlando trip this weekend for November/December. Can't wait for this!
  11. Just when I thought Six Flags couldn't become more of a joke...
  12. ^ The new trains on that ride deal with new restraints they came out with a few years ago, nothing like this.
  13. Oh man. This is back again? I had just stopped having nightmares.
  14. Oh no..... let's not get started on the green sports drink thing again...... right Beemer?
  15. Yeah unfortunately Luneur was probably the best option, but it looks like they closed mid last year. That was very easy to get to via train, and just a few block walk through the out-skirts of Rome. Rome is great. I really hope you enjoy it!
  16. Or...... put vodka in it.
  17. The rides also add value to the parks. So the price of the parks have gone up with the upgrades and look more attractive to someone that might have potential interest in purchasing. I kind of think of it like a house - before you put it up on the market, you make upgrades like new carpet and paint to make it look better and potentially easier to sell.
  18. Right. Dave and Buster's uses a power card and the exact same system. I just think it is totally inefficient. And costs them more money. I wish it would just start converting over to a card only format. Though, with children, they really like to get the tickets and count them.
  19. That is very true. They aren't very sentimental when it comes to keeping it as a park. It is all about the money. Though, you they will probably be able to get a better price as a park. However, if they are in a pinch and the price is right, they would just sell it off to anyone. It just depends on the situation and the price they are looking for.
  20. Yeah. I kind of figured it was a marble.
  21. Definitely not a bowling ball.
  22. ^ Plus it would be stupid to sell to a developer considering the profit margin on the sale wouldn't be optimal.
  23. The only way that would work at this time is if it were an RFID barcoded wristband, but that would not be cost effective at all. The only 24 hour business that I would see fit would be a supermarket, considering overnighters are there stocking the shelves anyway, so you might as well let people in the store to shop. That and bars, just because it would always have patrons, but I guess people wouldn't see that as being ethical or a good standard because that means people would be staggering out drunk during rush hour.
