  1. I can't believe that took only 30 minutes to make. Will be following this thread, you have quite a talent!
  2. Zach, beautiful work as always! For people in the know, I know sometimes CD staff visit here sometimes... Will you be making Banshee Statix replias for PKI next year? I know the inverted train replicas always sell out, I've never been able to grab a Raptor, Talon or Alpengeist train as they sell out quick. If I could get a heads-up on this I'd appreciate so I can be ready to buy one! I have a ton of track I painted purple last year and lots of blue supports... Any word on if CP will release a working gatekeeper model or can we confrm that was just them messing around in the shop?
  3. I got your inverted wing coaster right here...
  4. Those blueprints looked VERY legitimate to me. I could see KI spending some time on making that sweet Bat logo, but not the money it would have cost to draw up fake blueprints. The blueprint of the station shows loading on one side only, and what appears to be a standard inverted train in the station. It won't be anything crazy, just a giant, beautiful inverted coaster, tried and true and supersized. I am totally ok with this. I don't see an inverted wing coaster as a possibity given the clearance shown in the blueprints, and the footers being gauged so close togethe, however, I don't see the concept of an inverted wing coaster as being crazy. B&M thenselves said they were working on a rotating seat version of the wing coaster as well as LSM launches, but I don't think this will be the year they make their debut. A wing coaster with rotating seats (like Arrow's 4D) would very much resemble an inverted wing coaster. While I'm sure the concept was explored, I can imagine the weight of the trains (the wing coaster train is already very heavy) would quickly become an issue the way it was with X.
  5. ^^^ I also think it was a fake. Although I liked the idea someone mentioned earlier of renaming Flight Deck to The Bat. If they rethemed Action Zone with a spectral/spooky theme it woulld be awesome. Rename Delirium and Drop Tower and theme up that area, build a dark ride or year-round maze n 2015 and you would have a nice new themed land and a perfectly balanced theme park.I think Delirium would look awesome in gloss black paint (Black Widow?) and Drop Tower needs a new name, please. Eh, not a crime to dream... 4 hours to go...
  6. If that turns out to be true it would be an attractive color scheme, I love the look of Afterburn, and the ride in general.
  7. ^ This was mentioned a couple pages back, started all the hullabaloo about KI's project potentially being an inverted coaster.
  8. ^ A Zamperla Volare would have made up for the old SoB Kidding of course... But I agree, I hope this coaster is heavy in the theme department. I wish that whole area would get a splash of theming. When the name Banshee started resurfacing, I kept thinking, how cool would it be if they did a land with a horror/spooky theme, "Drop Tower" certainly needs a new name BAD.
  9. ^That scene was filmed at Water Wizz, I think they pee in the pool there too, haha.
  10. The name did always remind of that one episode of South Park... PiPi.bmp
  11. My girlfriend lives in Wareham, MA, I have been following construction on weekends when I visit her at Water Wizz, our local waterpark. Water Wizz already has some great slides including Pirate's Plunge, but it looks like they have finally added some much needed capacity to the park! New Englanders, support this great local water park! WW1.bmp The tube slides several months back when they first arrived. WW2.bmp The body speed slides upon arrival. WW3.bmp The large new tower consists of several brightly colored slides you will ride down in a tube, these are not yet open. WW4.bmp The two brand new body drop slides are yet to be completed but are quite large! WW5.bmp While I was eating lunch next door, I saw the crew installing the splashdown run.
  12. ^ How is that a "debacle"? Pyrenees is great but the first half of the ride is essentially a 50' taller version of Batman The Ride(And there's about 9 clones of that ride already...) Drop, loop, zero g, loop... When I think "giant" inverted coasters only two come to mind (Alpy and Montu) The point of my post is that rides like OzIris have changed up the formula a bit, and it would be cool to see more unique coasters out there, even if that means the ride doesn't have any new elements, but changes the order they are experienced in. I also find parks do a wonderful job theming inverted coasters for the most part, moreso than most other types of coasters from the B&M catalog. With Matt O. behind the wheel I'm hoping for a splash of theming... hell they even themed the teaser signs and footers...
  13. I am hoping those parts are for KI, I wasn't expecting an inverted coaster but it would be a nice surprise! The most recent inverted coaster like Oz'Iris no longer have a pre-drop which can provide a nice steep, long drop. I would love to see an invert with some unique elements. My favorite inverted coaster, Alpengeist, is my favorite for the reason it doesnt follow the typical layout of inversions. There are also a couple of inverts out there that give you a nice pop of airtime, that would be nice. My question to those that may know... The track label reads IC2, for inverted coaster, Was there ever a time when the inverted labels read just "IC"? Does IC2 refer to the 2nd generation of inverts (those without pre-drops) I wonder if they are capable of manevers the older generation could not do, like non-curving drops. Are there any differences with the trains on the newer inverts? untitled.bmp One of these would be nice...
  14. The name was changed due to sensitivity issues with the Banshee name. As an Irishman I'm quite familiar with the legend of the banshee. Banshee translates to "the woman from the land of the fairies". She is a female spirit that wears tattered rags, and is the messenger from The Otherworld that delivers the message of impending death. To hear the shriek of the banshee, foretells a death in the home it is heard in. There are many variants to this myth, some say she is an old hag, while others say she is a beautiful woman. In Celtic folklore, the Banshee can be seen washing the bloodstained armor of soldiers about to die. I can see why they changed the name, but I can't see many people getting offended by her presence. banshee.bmp I like to think she looks like this.
  15. I'll get excited when the components of the coaster show up, which judging by the footers, the staging area, and equipment showing up, I believe track elements will arrive prior to any announcement.
  16. I think I can help identify the mystery fluids in the shopping cart as I spent 5 years in SoCal. The brown liquid looks like Horchata, which I can only describe as Cinnamon flavored milk (tried it twice and made me sick both times) The middle one is similar to Tang, and the left one, not quite sure... Never even knew there was a small park in Queens, cool report.
  17. Corkscrew, Im with you on that one. I loved Gatekeeper and would love if KI's project ended up being a wingrider, but this time with a straight drop like Wild Eagle and some unique elements. I still have my fingers crossed about B&M doing an electromagnetic LSM launch in 2014.
  18. Regarding that green piece of track at Claremont. According to screamscape, this is likely a flawed piece of track originally intended for the wingrider Flying Over the Rainforest. It was put directly on the asphalt without any wood to keep it from scraping the ground so it is likely scrap steel. There is still the matter if the grey, unpainted twisty bits of track that were outside recently but seen to be missing (likely in the paint shop) that project is still unknown. Im going to agree with many of you, I wouldn't expect an announcement during peak season, likely towards the end of summer they'll let the banshee.. I mean cat out of the bag to draw attention to the 2014 season. They are having a lot of fun teasing us on Twitter... But I will be slowly eating my snickers bar in the meantime. Props to KI for not leaking this coaster by now. Remember, anticipation is part of the fun.
  19. Where do you see a photo showing blue track? If you mean the most recent photo posted, what you are looking at is the shipping label located on the unpainted ends of the track that are bolted together. I am personally thrilled they are getting a B&M coaster. WIth the height being hinted as "308", I'm thinking its got to be a dive machine or speed coaster. When B&M did their most recent interview, they said all they were waiting on was for a customer to order an LSM launched model, as they are ready to produce them. How awesome would that be if KI were the first to try it!
  20. Sorry, didn't see that post earlier in the thread. Its just odd because FOTR just completed trackwork and that piece is still there. I wonder what that could be for.
  21. ^ To you, does the track appear to be a different size/shape/ color compared to Flying Over the Rainforest? It's all alone out there... hopefully it will have some friends soon
  22. http://screamscape.com/html/industry_news.htm#BM Not to add fuel to the specualtion wildfire, but there is a new, solo, dark green piece of Bolliger and Mabillard track outside of Claremont Steel. It looks similar to the color for Flying Over the (maybe a bit darker) but I cannot be sure. I would also think that all of FOTR's parts have arrived in China as trackwork should be nearing an end soon. I would imagine this is the first of many pieces to come out of the plant soon. http://rcdb.com/9114.htm?p=42233 The picture at Claremont is too far away to read the shipping label. Could any locals take a cruise and get a nice (legal!) shot of the track? I know some of you have really nice zooms on your cameras. To me it looks a bit like Speedcoaster track, as much of a B&M fanboy that I am I still can't distinguish the differences as quickly as some of you.
  23. Disneyland Ride Operator *Disneyland Railroad *Big Thunder Mountain Railroad *Indiana Jones Adventure The most fun I've ever had at work were my years at Disneyland
  24. When I get home after the weekend I'll take some photos of the trains I picked up. They started selling them online in the marketplace for $35.00. That Gatekeeper picture is great! I hope they really make a set, I know many people would buy them. http://marketplace.cedarpoint.com/GateKeeper-Train-Replica--P1124C140.aspx
