Are most of the Bring a Friend Days with good weather this bad at the parK? We might visit the park Sunday 26th, which is again a Bring a Friend Day We stay at the Hampton Robbinsville, 15 minutes from the park and will be taking I-195 E / 537 to the park. Would it be better to make a detour, drive to Hornerstown and from there up on 537 to miss the backup? How long did it take yesterday to get into the parking lot?

Well , steaming fins and shaky ride does not sound good, hope that does not lead to another closing phase...

What about the other Intamins? Is anything else down after that power outage 2 days ago?

Just read some Wicked Cyclone reviews from the past, there are some discussions about vibrating and screeching which seems to slow down the ride. Has this ride really went downhill in terms of ride comfort or pace? We have plans to include the park to our us trip in July, we have been there in 2013. But if WC is vibrating and sluggish like hell, we might drop our plans and visit another park instead. Are there particular seats or trains where the issue occurs?

Well, I know when the ride is hopefully up and running in the future, all the problems will be forgotten, but right now I am not very confident that they can solve the difficulties in a few days. They have seemingly not soft opened in the last three days, the second train sits still, ongoing work on the launch hill, etc.... It's hard to stay positive when you have an upcoming visit in July, eventually missing the coaster. Just wanted to express my mood..

I am also dying to get some updates as I will be in the area at the beginning of July, so I like to know how the soft opening went the last two days....

Any news about the second train? What's wrong with it? I am not sure if they are willing to open the ride for the public with only 1 train operating...

Where did you hear that? I don't know anything about politcal issues, they are just finetuning the ride, completing the theming and finishing the sound proof wall. They are still testing Taron daily, not heard much about Raik testing. The park wants to open the area when everything is done perfectly and ready (they learned their lesson with the Chiapas desaster), so we expect the area to open with the Germany holidays (mid-July). When are you visiting Phantasialand?

Guys, just warning you... there is A TON of misinformation out there about this ride. It's pretty insane. Take everything with a grain of salt. Ok, what makes you sure that there might be a ton of misinformation? Have you been living under a rock or just been distracted by Dolly comforting you by this gross misjustice to theme park goers across the planet in the warmth of her boosm? That's a really nice comment from you, sounds like you're a respectful person... The info above seemed legit to me, so I would have thought that this could be true.

We are flying over from Germany (June,25th until July,16th) to visit a few parks (Cedar Point, SFGADV, SFNE, Hershey). We plan to include Dollywood because of Ligtning Rod, but if the ride won't be open until the 10th, July, we will reschedule and visit Kings Dominion instead. I'd personally go to Kings Dominion over Dollywood just for the coasters but that's just me. We have been to both parks (Kings Dominion in 2012, Dollywood last year), so the only reason to come back to Pigeon Forge would be Lightning Rod If they cannot have it open by then, we will spend our money elsewhere

Besides all the Blazing Fury stuff, etc. I would also like to know how things are going...any updates about LIgntning Rod so far? Someone mentioned that they may open the ride this weekend, so I am hoping that's true as I will be down there in July....time is running

I don't see any differences, but let's hope they are working on something...

Maybe they have to update the description, removing any mention of "Lightning Rod" 'cause it will open in autumn as the earliest...

Any updates on Lightning Rod? Any workers sighted in the last couple of days to fix the launch? Got the official answer when emailing to Dollywood ("...The ride manufacturer asked for additional time to commission the ride..."), would have liked to receive an estimated opening time frame like "late summer/August" We might be in the area during July, 6th until 10th, only visiting if the coaster will be open then.

Kings Island (some top coasters, International Street, landscape, overall pretty good) 3. Kings Dominion (2-3 very good coasters, International Street, nice landscape) 4. Canada's Wonderland (2 B+M's, nice main street, a bit of theming, Wonder Mountain) 5. Carowinds (B+M goodness, confusing layout, some medicre coasters) 6. Knott's Berry Farm (nice theming, lacks some top coasters besides Xcelerator, well rounded ride package)
