  1. I would like to have some advice how to buy the fastpass online?
  2. First I want to thank you all for your feedback! I have been to Disneyworld and Disneyland Paris 4 times and 2 times at Disneyland Anaheim (I recently visited all of them in 2017!). I do not care for shows, Buzz, Toy Story, Nemo, the small Fantasyland Rides or Star Tours at Tokio Disney. I will pack some snacks and water, so that I do not have to stand in line for meals. So my plan looks like that (assuming to be at the entrance at least 1 hour before opening): April, 30th: Disney Sea with 25,000 other people (normal corwds) 08-09am: get FP for Journey 09-11am: Journey stand-by 11-12am: get FP for 20,000 Leagues 12-03pm: Tower stand-by 03-04pm: Indy single rider 04-05pm: Raging Spirits single rider 05-06pm: Sindbad stand-by 06-07pm: FP Journey 07-08pm: FP 20,000 Leagues time left: 2 hours until closing May, 1st: Disneyland with 35,000 other people (normal crowds) 08-09am: get FP for Monsters (one ride is enough for me as I am no into Monsters) 09-11am: BTM stand-by 11-12pm: get FP for Space Mountain 12-02pm: Mansion standy-by 02-03pm: Splash single rider 03-05pm: Pirates stand-by 05-07pm: Jungle Cruise stand-by (only if time permits) 07-08pm: FP Monsters 08-09pm: FP Space Mountain time left: 1 hour until closing May, 2nd: Disneyland with 35,000 other people (normal crowds) 08-09am: get FP for Pooh 09-11am: Pooh stand-by 11-12pm: get FP for BTM 12-01pm: Splash single rider 01-03pm: Space Mountain stand-by 03-04pm: Mark Twain (only if time permits) 04-06pm: Western Railroad (only if time permits) 06-08pm: Roger Rabbit (missed the one in Anaheim but will only do it if time permits) 08-09pm: FP Pooh 09-10pm: FP BTM May, 3rd: Disney Sea with 37,000 other people (crowded but not as heavy as TDL) 08-09am: get FP for Tower 09-11pm: Journey stand-by 11-12pm: get FP for Journey 12-01pm: Ragings Spirits single rider 01-02pm: Indy single rider 02-03pm: Transit Steamer 03-04pm: Electric Railway 04-05pm: FP Tower 05-06pm: FP Journey time left: 4 hours until closing As you can see, my priorities are Journey, Tower, Indy, Raging Spirits, Splash, Space, BTM and Pooh which I want to do at least 2 times each. I like the classics (Mansion and Pirates) and the relaxing rides as well (so that I can enjoy the atmosphere and look around). Again, if there is enough time, I might do the Gondolas at Disney Sea or explore the Mermaid Lagoon or the Treehouse or things like that. I would take that as a bonus. If all goes well, I may try to visit one of the parks for a half day on Sunday, 29th. My plane touches down at 06:25am at HND and with picking up my pocket wifi, suica card and limo bus ticket, I might check in at noon. Maybe I will do TDL or TDS for a few hours to check the slow rides with big capacities or hardly any wait (Railroad, Sindbad, etc.). After visiting Disney, I will take the first bus to Fuji-Q-Highland (I will buy the ticket online in advance) and stay for one night at the onsite hotel to do the park on two consecutive days (I will have early entry to get fastpass tickets for the big coasters). Again, I am prepared for waiting in long lines, but if I can do the 3 most wanted thrill coasters at least once during my two days there, I am fine. How does my itinerary sound to you?
  3. Hey, I recently booked a flight to Haneda Airport to visit Tokyo Disney, my most wanted park trip ever. I will be staying either at Ambassador Hotel or the Hilton. I know I picked one of the busiest times, but I have strong reasons for that: First I wanted to make sure, that all the headliner attractions are open, that is one of the biggest points! Another reason is my job schedule. The holidays are on April, 29th (Sunday) and May, 3rd until 5th (Thursday-Saturday). I plan to visit DisneySea on April, 30th and May, 3rd, Disneyland on May, 1st and 2nd, 2018. The crowd calendar shows that 3 of those days have normal crowds (yellow coloured means 30.000 people) and it predicts a crowded day on May, 2nd (red means 50.000 people). I am prepared for long wait times for rides (2-3 hours), food or restrooms. I will be at the entrance at least one hour before opening. So has anybody experienced the parks during that time frame? Would love to hear some thoughts. Is it really that heavy in terms of crowds? I assume I can wait to buy park tickets until check-in as the two mentioned hotel options would guarantee admission, right?
  4. So why was is still on one-train-operation? Low attendance or technical trouble?
  5. Did anyone ever experience 2-Train-Operation on Lrod in the last few weeks? I was not aware of that. I thought they still were not able to do that because of reliability. Would love to hear some thoughts as we are again planning a trip next summer .
  6. Sorry to interrupt the ongoing discussion but does anyone know what's up with Xcelerator? It is still listed as closed. We are heading down in late August and would have loved to enjoy that ride. Any kind of updates are appreciated...
  7. ....running with one train is not what I consider consistent or reliable.....I hope they will work out all the kinks soon......
  8. Looks like they updated their website, I just took a look and didn't see it say closed. It is still listed as closed under "hours of operation" / "scheduled ride closures"......
  9. Does anyone know why Xcelerator is listed as closed until further notice , according to Knotts website?
  10. I am glad that I was able to experience these phenomenal coasters in their former glory, while they were still dueling. Actually I got to ride these powerful machines 2 weeks ago during my last Florida Trip. As much as I love Harry Potter, I am not amused to receive a likely tamer family coaster as a replacement. I hope that Universal stops using screens for their forthcoming rides in general as I am bored by these kind of attractions. I did find Kong, Transformers, Minions and Fellon really annoying........I think Disney does a much better job balancing out their attraction types, they have a nice mix of screen based and real set rides. I used to love Universal 10 years ago, but lately my mind has shifted to Disney.......Orlando is loosing a highly rated coaster........Really bad move Universal!
  11. I would by one, too! Definitely interested!
  12. I am quite shocked that the Dragons might be leaving and I'm getting tired of these screen based rides! I like Hogwarts/Hogsmeade, but they should not replace the Dragons with another Potter-3D-Ride. A nice forceful Flyer or Launcher would be my first choice. I guess I might visit Sea World and Busch for their excellent coaster lineup instead. The decision to remove the coaster might be the time when Universal goes finally downhill (at least for me)....
  13. This is seriously the most accurate thing I have ever read in regards to i305... and I agree with every word of it, 100%. I'll never understand why people rave about i305 the way they do... but to each their own! Then again, that's why parks build so many diverse attractions, so they can appeal to everyone. After all, it'd be pretty boring if we all had the same taste in coasters, so designers all built the same type of ride. I'm going with "Team I305" on this topic. It is not a bad coaster, and I did handle the forces very well during our summer (2016) and fall (2012) visits. But the speed, huge drop and the quick transitions in a grass field really left me wanting more..........(perhaps) variety? I prefer Millenium Force and Fury 325 over I305 for their better layout and nice scenery/interaction with the front gate. I also like big hills and overbanks way more.
  14. The hersheypark app lists skyrush as closed right now, can you confirm that? Did it run during your visit?
  15. Well, i appreciate that the park tries to operate the coaster somehow, but the current situation leads us to cancel our 1200usd trip (dreammore and season pass), originally scheduled for next week. We will visit busch gardens and kings dominion instead. We will return to dollywood when the coaster is clearly open. Wish them all the best with lightning rod...
  16. So are they running 2 trains during this rehearsal?
  17. So is lightning rod fully operational now with two trains running? Are the issues of the last delay solved now? Wonder when the park takes down the "closed" banner from their webpage...
  18. Wonder why they don't move it to the station/maintenance area...
  19. As there is still the banner on Dollywood.com, I would expect that the coaster is still down, despite what Pete Owens supposedly said in this article. However I hope they can fix the issues and reopen as soon as possible. Hope to hear some updates from visitors these days.
  20. From Dolly's website: Current Notifications Lightning Rod is closed today. Rocky Mountain Construction ordered all of its roller coasters closed until further notice as a recalled mechanical part is replaced. Please watch for updates. http://www.dollywood.com/
  21. Guess that could be true as Lightning Rod also seems to be closed until next week, look at the Dollywood thread.
  22. Take it with a grain of salt but the coaster might be closed again until next week, perhaps because of sensor and computer issues. http://www.kicentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/31862-dollywood-2016/page-3 Eventually the same reason why Wildfire's opening is postponed to replace the restraint cyclinders?
  23. For anyone how has visited Dollywood the last few days: how was the reliability of Lightning Rod? Was it down often? 1-train-operation? Seems like it's hit and miss to get the credit?
  24. Well, seems like a normal opening day of a high tech coaster It's up and down today, not running constantly...
  25. Still problems, did not open with the park: Quote from Facebook https://www.facebook.com/dollywood "More problems with lighting rod! In line now at front and the ride jut closed with issues. Would expect issues on a new ride but this ride has had more than enough time to get the issues resolved with the late opening! Been in the park three hours. Not been in a ride yet and $1000 spent on passes and fast pass!"
