  1. Either way I get to avoid the fatties by waiting until the 15th. Matt
  2. From my research planning next March's SoCal trip, Solace is always the second weekend of March, putting 2007's on the 10th. I'll be in town for Solace but will be at diznee that weekend- I plan to have a bit quieter of a day at Knott's that Thursday (the 15th). Matt
  3. Nice idea for a site. As to ad-free: The site I help run was ad-free until operating expenses ate us alive. It's hard to remain ad-free when your organization is spending close to 20K/year in hosting. We don't do any random ads, however. We pick and choose ads specifically suited to the subject at hand. Matt
  4. The trip itself is $2000. The remaining $1800 is being earmarked towards rehab and treatment for Elissa's McDonald's addiction upon return to the states. Hope this helps. Matt
  5. Am I the only one who thinks the design is just "meh"? Matt
  6. A strong wit and use of irony and sarcasm will go over well. Especially if he can do a good deadpan delivery. BTW, the link in the OP doesn't work because of a period at the end that got stuck into the URL. Thanks for the heads up, Paula! Matt
  7. I'm officially canceling our deposit for the midwest trip if the Duggar Family is one of the other families signed up. Matt
  8. A cruise ship is more solid a foundation than the ground under Magnum. The two main problems with anything outside a small kiddie coaster are: a) Space b) Noise Matt
  9. http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?StoryID=20060903-122557-5192r This is freaking awesome. Bruce Lee Robots? Bruce Lee Grunting Coaster? I think we can eliminate all polls and surveys as to the best theme park and just give this one the award right now! Matt
  10. There's elements already constructed that don't seem to jive with screamscape's artistic rendering. Matt
  11. As for renting the park out, someone researched it a while back and it requires 500 people minimum, or at least 500 people's cash. Matt
  12. My wife was the one that asked that. She wants to ride the Teddy Bear coaster, hehe. It seemed fairly obvious when the tentative dates were moved back by a day to end "late" that Sunday, but it couldn't hurt to ask. If we go, it'll just be icing on the cake. Matt
  13. It will be a lot more than $200/week if you're <25. Estimate a weekly rate of $150 or so for unlimited mileage. Now add $25 x 7 to that = $325. That's before tax, collision insurance (usually $5-10/day or so), and however much a full tank of gas costs to return it with. You should be able to take it to other states, but if you plan to return it to somewhere besides where you rented it, costs may go up. Matt
  14. The surcharge for nearly all companies if you're 21-24 is an extra $25/day. When I go to California next spring, the surcharge for our car rental comes out to more than the actual rate. Matt
  15. Body Worlds 3 ran all Summer here in Houston. It was really, really, entertaining. Went out and saw it a couple of times. Matt
  16. I played soccer for years growing up. It has cost me both my ACLs so far. Matt
  17. Dollywood is a major park. Major parks typically are listed as to be a main draw for a trip. The "and more" typically refers to smaller parks. Further. the trip is essentially an Ohio-Indiana-Wisconsin triangle. Eastern Tennessee is a bit out of the way. I'd put my money on "No", at least for the main trip itinerary. Matt
  18. It makes sense. We eat kittens in the ER, but it appears that babies have a higher calorie density. No wasteful fluff to chew through. Matt
  19. You can come spend a week in Texas to practice! Matt
  20. It's a lost cause for some, Robb. I run a large vBulletin forum. There's a feature that pretty much puts a user on everyone else's ignore list, meaning their posts are only visable to theirselves. Such a feature was designed for this breed of illiterate. Matt
  21. The prices published in the trip flyers do not include airfare to start with. Such a feat would be impossible unless we all miraculously came from the same origin city.. Matt
  22. Now why would they do a crazy thing like that? Matt
  23. Did they stop making boat trips back and forth after that Titanic incident? Matt
  24. My wife can do a mean British accent and people tell me I look like Mr. Bean (before I grew my beard) so we'll make you feel at home! Matt I think even with that i might still stand out BTW Anyone here post on TN? curious to know if there are any members here? I have an account by the same name there but haven't posted (or visited) much. Matt
