  1. Wow that left side of the park map is EMPTY. They better have something good up their sleeve.
  2. Sorry if this has beem answered, but why not close it after the season?
  3. Ive actually been to all 3 parks before, BGE is really the only one I have interest in going to on this trip. Dont get me wrong I liked KD and next year is looking even better. SFA is meh, but I have Great Adventure about an hour away. The trip is more about my wife and I getting away since our second child was born.
  4. Awesome, I will def look into that.
  5. I need a vacation bad. My birthday is Oct 24 and the Eagles happen to play the Redskins on Monday night the 26th. Since its easier to get tickets to away, than in Philly, I told my wife thats what I want to do. Heres is why I come to TPR. I've only been to DC once and only saw Arlington National cemetery. I would like to see more, but should I just go the touristy route or is there something I shouldn't miss? My original plan was to drive down from south jersey to DC on saturday Oct 24 and spend time in the city 24, 25, 26, and leave tuesday morning. Now I got to thinking Williamsburg isn't too far away, about 150miles. I could easily drive there for a day, prob sunday. So it would be Oct 24- Arrive/DC Oct 25- BGE Oct 26- DC/Game @8pm Oct 27- Leave. Now should I base my operations in DC and drive to BGE and use the metro or should I stay outside the city and drive there daily. Also does anyone have suggestions on hotels, restaurants, attractions, and tips for the metro? Thanks
  6. I was there last Thursday and trust me when I say this park has come along way. Ive been going to Gr Adv since I was little, and for awhile it was pretty bad with little to no security presence. On my trip I saw a ton of security guards, even witnessed them remove someone from the park. I would also say that the park employees were very friendly, like obnoxiously friendly, but thats a good thing in this business. As for park food, its expensive. Multi million dollar rides dont pay for themselves. This is everywhere. My only thing with park food is if I gonna pay that much, and I will, make it good. I sprung for flashpass because I was there with my wife, 5 year old son, and 3 month old daughter. To me, it was worth it not standing in line and riding rides with my son while I waited. You choose not to pay for it, so you cant complain about the length of the lines.
  7. For candy bars its Snickers. For candy alone its Peanut Chews
  8. I just dont see Cedar Fair putting a record breaker in at KD. A massive coaster sure, but not anything that will top Kingda Ka. I could be wrong though, its happened once or twice.
  9. Most companies are going to charge for being under 25. From what I remember its like 25 extra a day. The companies that dont charge basically add it into the rental reguardless. Easy way is to check with them.
  10. Coming from a Universal stand point, no one cares what you think. Your judging a ride before its even built. Ive said Im worried about the pacing because of the clock brakes, which everyone can see. You just keep saying it wont be an amazing with nothing to back it up.
  11. Does that truly make a roller coaster good? Just because Maurer Söhne can build a drop that goes underground and call it "Drop Tuning" doesn't guarantee HRRR to be a good ride. In my opinion, all of the hype over these "new" elements is just to attract the average Joe. As I mentioned before, I do not see HRRR being as good of coaster as expected. That's not to say that it won't be good and/or fun, but I doubt that it'll make many top 10 lists. No, but it makes it unique. Of course there is hype to attract the average joe, its called marketing. Thats what makes money for everything and anything Universal does. Ive said it before in this thread that I am worried about the pacing of the ride with all the block breaks, but that doesnt mean I am ready to write it off as bad ride, espeacially since no one has ridden it yet. Besides how many rides open each year make top 10 lists? For that matter who cares about top 10 lists. Terminator Salvation may have better themeing, but I dont think that will be making any top 10 lists either. I think its gonna be a solid addition to a very solid park. I dont know the height requirement, but it looks like something families can enjoy together.
  12. What is ARB? Anti roll back. So many opinions on a ride thats not even open. The themeing is fine. Its all about the technology in the ride. We are seeing some roller coaster firsts here.
  13. Nice pics, this ride looks awesome, Im just a little worried about the pacing. Hopefully Im wrong.
  14. Are there any other effects beside the flame throwers? Its looks good from the pics you took.
  15. My thoughts here. 1. When I heard about WWOHP, I was excited for it, but also for the fact that Disney wouldnt just sit by and not add anything to compete. 2.Who is to say what Disney has planned, they tend to be very secretive about their plans. 3.Like you said they still are the top tourist destination in the world, why spend billions of dollars when they dont have too. 4.I hate to say the economy plays a part in it, but I think it does. Universal had no choice to move forward, not saying they wouldnt have if they did, but I think Disney had dedcided to wait until HP opened and then fire back.
  16. I totally rode a dolphin like that at Hershey when I was little. Granted that was over 20 years ago and I dont think they do it anymore. Lets call it never again in america.
  17. Down at Disney's Wide World of Sports? That's still pretty damn awesome! Yea at WWOS in 05 and 06
  18. I used to be really into paintball, even played in the World Cup a few times. Its been awhile since I played and I still miss it, but with a family and all now its just not easy as it once was. Those are some great shots, paintball is a really hard sport to take pictures of.
  19. That sucks about the operations, espeacially on opening day. Its really nice outside though, so it cant be weather. Unless its cause of the high winds but that should only effect Ka, no?
  20. I grew up in Mays Landing and Lake Lenape was a big part of my childhood. We used to go on class trips there and I even lifeguarded there when I was 17. It was just a small little mom and pop place that the owners built for the community. They also built the skating rink out front which is still owned by the family. The carousel hasnt been in that building in my lifetime. When I was younger it was an indoor mini golf course and then when I worked there, its where the campers slept on overnight stays in the summer. I dont even remember a carousel to be honest, just a small ferris wheel and some boat/motorcycle rides that went in a circle.
  21. Awesome, I watched a Discovery Channel on the making of the A380 and it looks like an amazing jet.
  22. Thanks for the well wishes everyone. She should have her first Disney experience in Nov.
