  1. Yeah Chad, after the splitting up, especially the blue train almost feels like going 10mph max. Part II Once my favorite B&M. It's still good, but I rode better ones in the meantime Time for another rant The park is selling express passes everywhere in the park, without any limit it seems .... Because the express line for almost every attraction (here the log flume row) was way too long. Some more Sesame pics Small hotel break Mansion lobby At 6 pm, tapa's, soda and cava are served for free for the Mansion hotel guests I used to love this shop .... Now it's just an ordinary candyshop Aaaah, this shop is still there I love themeparkshops like this But she was too tall to ride with me, so we each had our own horse She had a lot of pounding to do I hope they won't ever transform those lovely shops into candy shops I was thinking of buying one for a good friend of mine, who's really into budhism Express line row Blue train was out of order again, or maybe it halted somewhere on track .... Why do I still have a donkey title ? Yes, it's tilting They got the blue train working again Templo del Fuego Hotel map Some kind of hidden Mickey ? I don't remember that thing being there ??? Best mine train in the world ..... New park map Construction works And some on rides to end
  2. Thanks Laura. 20 hours after getting home from the USA, I was on a plane again, direction Reus, Spain. Destination Port Aventura of course. We arrived at the Gold River hotel in the evening and after checking in we spent some time in the park. Port Aventura is not only beautiful in daylight I have some ranting to do about Port Aventura though. I always loved the stores at PA, the stores where you could find stuff you won't find at any other theme park. But a lot of the nice stores have been transformed into candy shops now. Probably the earnings are better, but I for sure didn't like the new look. I was time for my first Fiestaventura ever My youngest daughter Fiestaventura. I really heard only good things about this show. Because of all the good things I heard about the show, my expectations were a bit too high I suppose The show was ok, but I expected much more of it. Next morning, we took a swim in the Lucy's Mansion private pool. The Mansion is a part of the Gold River Hotel. The Gold River has 3 other swimming pools Those pools are a bit noisy with Stampida right next to the pools Lucy's Mansion from the front Hotel Gold River's restaurants It's still an ok ride, but terribly slow the second part, especially the blue train 3rd B&M for my oldest daughter. New parkzone TamTam got an extreme makeover Tamimi It's a nice zone, but it doesn't breath the Port Aventura vibe in a way. Compared to the other park zones, it's really chaotic. Hour long waiting rows everywhere Luckily we got unlimited express wristbands as a hotel guest so we had some more time to explore the hotel Next day we went to the waterpark in the morning. Back at the Port Aventura Park Baco. it was the 3 year I rode Baco since opening and I can describe my rides as follows : rough, rougher, roughest. Self portrait. Pa Part II on the next page
  3. The last park of my USA trip : SFGAdv We arrived early at the park and were all alone on the parking lot. 16 hours later we would be all alone again and the last people leaving the parking lot Thank you I marathoned Nitro for 50 minutes A lot of press was there for us I didn't remember this thing being there 3 years ago during my last visit. After Nitro, we also had some ERT on Green Lantern See you in a few minutes I remembered enjoying Chang Didn't enjoy Green Lantern though Then we hurried to KK to be the first riders of the day Full train launches from the beginning causing the train really flying over the tophat Best coaster in the world Hey Roxy Okay ..... After the creditwhoring afternoon, I was on my own till El Toro ERT. Epic ERT NE trip whristband collection Last pic of my USA trip. Next up : Port Aventura
  4. And the last park of our credit run afternoon was Blackbeard's Cave. To be honest I only discovered the name of the park after 2-3 weeks back at home. Till then, I simply didn't know what the name of this little park was. Somewhere in the corner of a parking lot, there's a very small park .... I can be wrong, but when the ride ops saw 5 adults entering the park, I think they were a little bit scared .... But there was a coaster, so we were at the right place Credit 10 For such a tiny park, the coaster was in fact quite big. Next update will be SFGAdv, which I visited the morning and evening of our creditwhore afternoon.
  5. 3rd park of the afternoon : Fun Town Amusement Pier Credit 7 No credit. We were not allowed to ride Credit 8 Credit 9
  6. Yep, we didn't do any parks in Italy
  7. Next up was Casino Pier Another awesome park Bumper cars at the beach Again lots of random flat & kiddie rides Ticket info Price info Bargains info Credit nr 3 of the afternoon Ride station Queueing Another kiddie ride Credit nr 4 But first some pics of more flats Haunted mansion I had no idea which parks we were still going to hit that afternoon, I was just following the others, but I could guess that this would be our next destination later on I sooooooo love these boardwalks Credit 4 So great I actually don't remember whether the coaster was any good, but it must have been quite slow as I obviously had time to zoom in on some attraction while being on the coaster. On our way to the next credit This muffler man escaped from Magic Forest I loved the speed of our blitzkrieg, but when I now look at this pic, I would have loved to do that ride. Drycleaning Credit 5 Some pictures from the waiting row The ride ops of this ride were really amazing They were totally enjoying their job and dancing on the music So credit 5, which was a bit of a terrifying experience Here we go Looks ok WTF ???? Technically, as you can see it is not hanging above the ocean... But it damn felt like hanging above the ocean. Another pic of the wild mouse Credit 6 No onride pics on this one as it looked (and was) quite brutal When we left for the next park, we came across some other TPR peeps Bye bye Casino Pier
  8. Time for the add on day to the NE trip : Six Flags Great Adventure. But first I have for you 4 other TR's Trent & Josh (thanks again guys !) had a rental car available and we planned to leave SFGAdv during lunch for some credit whoring at Jersey shore. We hit 4 parks in not even 5 hours time. I took lots of pics, but since it was a real credit-RUN, most pics are snapshots, I'm sorry for that. First, we hit Jenkinson's Boardwalk. Yay !!!! I really love those boardwalks right next to the ocean. Prices Lots of random flat and kiddie rides But we had some credits to conquer Credit 1 : yes, that's the train ! Proof Like I said, lots of flat rides at Jenkinson's. Credit 2 This was a great coaster TPR approved. Coming soon : Casino Pier Boardwalk
  9. Last park of the NE trip and what a beauty it was : Magic Forest !! I really like those small parks and especially this one. Full of muffler men, something of which I had never heard before. Well I've seen those giant puppets before, but I didn't know they were called muffler men. Parking lot mufflers And there we were, 86 adults and 2 kids entering the park. Muffler men everywhere The main reason for our blitzkrieg visit. Every few feet there are mufflers Queueing to ride. Maybe the longest line the park has ever had for their coaster. After a few epic rollbacks, we were riding. Not only muffler men, but also random rides everywhere too. Hi there ! Don't know why, but this one scares me .... Next up : SFGAdv and 4 other parks in 1 day.
  10. Thanks Jen, Caesar, Brian & Laura. No updates for at least a week now, because I'm off to a music festival in an hour and tomorrow morning we fly to Italy for a week, from where I'll bring home at least 8 new TR's
  11. It was quite an experience. I had never done that before, give a kid money to ride a kiddie with us. So Roxanne & me were standing there, not allowed to ride on our own. Roxanne had the idea to give a kid a dollar or 2 to ride with us. Since english is not my first language, and because it was here idea , I let Roxanne do the talking. The kid on the picture was waiting in line and Roxanne asked him. He replied 'I have to ask my mom'. He ran back to his mom and started telling that 2 adults offered him 2 dollars to ride with them .... Well, from the look on the face of the mom, I assume that must have been what het told here. She seemed VERY confused and obviously didn't trust the thing at all. But Roxy, with all her charm, started talking to the mom and explained what we do, etc. But before she could explain everything, the dad was there all of a sudden, and he didn't trust it AT ALL and was looking quite angry to us. But Roxy managed to explain it very well and the parents were ok with our proposal. The older brother of the little guy, didn't dare to ride the kiddie on his own, and he even now had the chance to ride the kiddie with 2 experienced roller coaster riders So we were there waiting to ride with the 2 brothers. However, the older brother was to tall to ride with an adult unfortunately, so as he didn't dare to ride on his own, we were going to ride with the youngest kid. We gave the 2 kids 2 bucks each, and rode the kiddie coaster together with the little kid. In the meanwhile we had already build up a deep friendship with the parents and kids and when it was time to say goodbye, the oldest kid told us : 'thank you so much, although I didn't get to ride, I really thank you'. Ok, we are 2 adults, we can cope with that. But then the little kid said thank you too and how much he enjoyed it, and thank you for the money and blablabla. The 2 kids AND parents were really smiling big time and then the mother said about the little kid : 'And it's his birthday today !!!!!! We turned around, looked at each other, and there we were, 2 roller coaster geeks with tears in our eyes. Roxy said to me : damn, this was f*cking emotional !!! But it really was. I hope the above is understandable and not to weird. I'm sure Roxanne would be able to explain the situation much better, but I did my best.
  12. A Six Flags park, but what a nice park. It doesn't have real top coasters, but the landscaping is so lovely, people are friendly, i really liked this park. ERT coaster I took a lot of TPR trains pics, so tag yourself if you like ..... oh wait, that's Facebook ! Of course, we had the Go Fast wristband. Bobsled. Quite rough i have to say. TPR trains And more TPR train pics Some unique flats. Whhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiii !!!! Roxanne and me 'bought' this kid to ride the kiddie with us.
  13. La Ronde, it's in fact a lovely park, with great background settings so close to Montreal city. But the park operations, WTF was that ? The operators were really terrible. It's so weird to visit several SF parks and see such different operations. Power repair was still going on in the morning Hans decided to wear his 'American' tshirt .... in Canada ERT on Goliath I love floater airtime so I loved Goliath I love empty parks too Wild mouse car The yearly Montreal marathon was taking place the day of our visit, and they ran through the park. I liked the bridge next to the park. YAY !!! I was quite awake after the epic evening the day before Not for lazy persons. You have to stand up ! Couldn't get enough of the bridge I guess that's Montreal city At the Dragon station, I saw this. I was confused. The hourly objective is 250 persons per hour ????? The bird was speaking french. The infamous qbot line for the SLC. At first we thought we ended up in the norma queue and we were looking for the actual qbot entrance ..... You might get wet. Thanks for reading.
  14. I like reading your reports and am looking forward to the NE trip updates
  15. Really awesome action pictures. Great update.
  16. I hit my 500th at SFGAdv a few weeks ago : Green Lantern
  17. You are the funniest & coolest person on earth
  18. The same evening, when we arrived at the hotel, it turned out that there was a power outage at the hotel. This turned out to be the best thing ever since the amazing alcohol exchange was planned that evening. No power, no hot water, no internet, so immediately after getting rid of our luggage in the room, everybody came outside and we drank alcohol. Elissa handing out the room keys Shortly after that this started. It was so great to be outside, in front of the hotel, drinking together with another 80 coaster geeks Thank you Dave for organizing this. I'm pretty sure it wasn't cola Roxanne brought ... What can I say .... At that point I might have had just a little too much already ... I think it didn't taste too well Caesar checking out .... Moving on It was such a great evening Oh yeah, I totally forgot. We LOVE roller coasters !!! Who cares about snacks Awesome Brian Caesar, I don't think Brittney was listening to you Roxanne, what are you doing ? Well, Roxanne told me her awesome U2 adventures and showed me this awesome picture of her and Bono. Oh yeah, the picture was autographed by Bono Thanks for reading. Next up : La Ronde
  19. Thanks Jen & Brian Next Park : Canobie Lake park. I've heard of the park, but didn't know what to expect. But it was a nice surprise. Another lovely park. Entrance Pretty decent woodie. TPR train Starblaster New ride but surprisingly rough already I wasn't feeling too good that day and not really in the mood for talking a lot so I explored the park on my own. There was a lake but I don't know the name of the lake ... I thought the ride would take me over the lake .... but it wasn't. Next was the splash. I mean big splash. I mean BIG splash Now you see them Now you don't Next credit And the next one There was a small but nice waterpark too And a darkride. Logflume Some pics out of the ferris wheel I really had a bad day, not because of the park, but it was just me, too much going on in my head I even didn't notice the RCT food stands in the park when I was there. I only saw this on pics of other TR's. But that's what I like about TPR trips. If you want some 'alone time', that's no problem to have that time on your own. Did another lap of the park. Getting quite full I went to have a drink in the Italian restaurant near the lake, because they had airco. And when I came out, I notice the MJ show was just starting so I went inside. Not a big fan of MJ, but the show was actually pretty good. I'm sure he wasn't singing live, because if he did, that would have been the best impersonator ever. But still, the show was really good, even if he didn't really sing. Last pic. Next up will be the legendary Montreal power outage international alcohol exchange :-) And I was feeling better by the time we arrived at the hotel and I have lots of pictures
  20. Another park I didn't know anything about. I have to admit that I thought Palace Playland and Funtown Splashtown were 1 and the same park Entrance We immediately knew this was a GOOD park This park was also soooo cute. I loved all those small lovely parks on the trip. A lot of flat rides Walking to the park's woodie That's the name Loved the theming Hans & Roxy It wasn't really bad, but for me it was a one and done. There was also a Wild Mouse There is also an awesome waterpark Bumperboats Approved by Chris Drop/shot tower Chris giving me 'the eye' Logflume fun. Ok, who will pop up out of that splash ? ;;;;; Who's next ? ...... And ? More wild mouse Something take over. I get sick in indoor rides, so didn't ride. During ERT, I in stead dealt with the millions of mosquitos in the park. I love this park. Thanks for reading.
  21. ^^& ^Same here on my Mac.
  22. I was looking forward to this TR Werner. Very curious to see what your camera produces. Looking forward to more.
  23. Thanks EB & Laura !! Everytime I see those pictures of Hans on the kiddie, I have to laugh. Next park on the trip was Palace Playland On our way to the parks, we had a stop over somewhere for lunch. Don't remember what I ate. I do remember that I drank a Monty Python & the Holy Grail beer. And a Duvel. And a Hoegaarden. Or no, they were out of Hoegaarden. But I'm sure I had a third beer. Palace Playland is a nice little park. There was a lot to do. Flume First credit Mexican flat And the second credit Caesar had to ride it because his friends wanted to ride. This is where we were More flats Laura and Chad rode everything in the park I think. More credit whoring pics I think this was Steve's favorite coaster of the trip. They were still busy ... No parking. I simply adore those parks near the ocean. Roxy It was so great to have a break with our feet in the ocean. Yeah, the moon. Quite important to me lately. I would NEVER put it on my house, but those plates are so great. What happens on the porch stays on the porch Another reason I wouldn't put it up, is because my house doesn't have a porch. Neither do I own a man cave. Never saw this at any park before. I'm sure Laura and Chad are on it There was a parade. And also a choir. One last random pic. I just so weird that bikers don't have a wear a helmet in the USA. i was aware about that, but still it's strange every time I see it. Thanks for reading.
  24. Kernie's is on my to-do-list-within-short. I wanted to go there in spring and stay at their hotel but didn't find any suitable weekend. Maybe in fall it will work out.
  25. Hopefully some of the Italian TPR members can help me out. Non-Italian TPR members who can help, don't hold your breath either. In 2 weeks we are doing a trip to Italy and we'll be hitting a lot of parks between Rome and Milan. I'm looking for bonus parks in case for example Rainbow Magicland would have very light crowds, so that we can fill the late afternoon. On rcdb I found Parcolido and Zoomarine but also a park called Fantasiland ( www.rcdb.com/10008.htm ). But I can't find the real parkwebsite. Any of you know whether this park is still there ? What are the operating hours on September 5? It is right next to Zoomarine apparently ? Is it a pay per ride park ? Any info on the prices ? I can't find any ticket price info on the Parcolido website. Is that a pay per ride park ? It's only open as from 4 pm, so I guess it is ? Thanks in advance Benny
