Soon after leaving the hospital at the Gardalake, we arrived at our hotel in Milano, close to the evening park we had planned to visit : Europark Idroscalo, formerly known as Lunapark Milano. I'm so sorry, but I have to post this pic once more ... I was in charge of the hotel bookings and found this lovely Hotel Miami, very close to Europark Idroscalo It has a drive-in reception and the rooms are motel style. Little did I know that Hotel Miami was more of a rendez-vu hotel .... with VERY rendez-vu atmosphere lights in the room. Hans & EB even had a twin shower. The rooms had mirrors EVERYWHERE ... But for the mirrors you will have to watch this TR till the end Made it to Europapark Idroscalo Ray Round Themeparks in the dark are beautiful There is even a restaurant at the park. There are a lot of rides and 3 coasters. R&E, if you didn't plan include this park in the next year's Italy trip yet, try to squeeze it in the schedule. It's really a very nice place to spend an evening. Hans, about 2 hours after leaving the hospital He's really hardcore The bar was open Unlimited wristbands costed 12 euro or something if I remember well. Only this ride was an upcharge. Simulator The great wheel credit 2 Hi there Loved the ashtrays 'WTH are those adults on this ride and why are they taking that many pictures of it ????' To make the ride extra exciting, we left the lapbars open. Karting. My kart was like an old-timer ... Music Express Treno Fantasma Credit 3 Zy round Flume Yay for watershields Great ride Indoor giant swing With stand up option We had a great evening at Europark Idroscalo And as promised, the mirror pic of me and my brother in law sharing the bed . Thanks for reading. 1 more Italy update to follow.

Next update : Movieland Park Next morning we found our van repainted to the park we were going to that day. We saw a lot of weird signs on our trip. This is a sign at a bar in the nearby village. It's a pitty the live music was leaving .... My favorite park in Italy Crowds at opening time were very ok I like this new thing in the main street Another weird 'sign'. We were able to figure it out in the meanwhile. You too ? My favorite ride of the park, of the complete trip. Airtime !!! If there are hot babes on the seats next to you, put ..... I was sitting on the right seat on Magma, because I got really soaked. Next ride, Terminator. I liked it better before they made it a 9D ride or something of it. Police Academy NOTED ! The movie itself wasn't worth much, the in between pieces were great. It reminded me a lot of the Jimmy Neutron simulator at USO Dukes We'll do that later today Good this sign was there. I can't imagine what would have happened if it wasn't there ... We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine ... Fake plastic Dinosaurs. Why did Radiohead didn't think about this and sung about trees in stead. I have the credit, I have the credit (when I rode it a few years ago with my daughter) New credit It's quite close to the ground Yeah ... You might get wet ... or soaked Don't remember why I took this pic .... John Rambo show Anybody home ? Where are you ? Hey !! That's our Medieval Times knight ! Need some horse ... I'm starting to remember why I took the earlier picture ... This is why !!! I could have done a booty poll again, but I'm sure this would be the winner .... And on to the waterpark .... where we were going to do exactly 2 slides ..... after which we had to go to the hospital .... Because Hans & EB did something like you can see in the below video on Twin Peaks. But don't worry, everything was repaired and we still had time to do an evening park in Milano as you will see in the next update.

Time for the pics of an epic night we had after our visit to Gardaland & Sealife. Medieval Times It's a dinnershow At the Movieland property 'I love you'. At least that's what it looks like they are saying. And here we are EB Hans Bart And Michael Ready to eat and drink Hans does this every time before eating Yes Hans .... a plate. Awesome !!!! Knights and horses The king looked a bit bored Yay, BEER !!!! Soup. Hi there !! Our knight Knights in pink I hate eating chicken with my hands, so I opted to the veggie menu. The 2 austrian girls next to me ordered the normal menu and got this And I was educated how to eat a whole chicken without fork or knife Hans & EB knew how to eat Michael was getting really excited after the beer he had Oh yeah, the knights were still fighting for the princess This is what the austrian girl 1 left on here plate ... I'll be soooo glad when I see my bed .... We didn't hear Michael the whole week, but at Medieval Times he was awake, more than ever !!! The only 6 kms of the trip I didn't drive. The evening was still young so we headed back to the village centre for some drinks bartime My friend was there too When we headed back to the hotel at around midnight, we heard music and partying on a hill .... so that's where we ended up. We had a great night with the locals at the party and to proof that I'll post a short video of the party that night in my next post.

With our express passes we cleared Gardaland mid afternoon and still had time to explore their Sealife center The building is nicely themed And there are a lot of fish inside And lots of jelly Yeah .... LOTS of fish Just letting the pictures do the talking .... EB under water Mike under water Next up : Medieval Times

New day, new park : Gardaland. The only day on the trip we didn't have to drive long distances so this was going to be a long packed day. You'll see We started the day with Gardaland Our hotel was right beside the Gardalake so we had our morning coffee at the lakeborder Ok, no more lake pics, on to Gardaland Hooray for their new express passes Packed entrance at opening time, as usual As Mammut wasn't on the express pass we bought, Mammut was the first ride we headed to. Inferis wasn't on the express pass either Maybe we should have done Inferis later on the day, because we hardly noticed scare actors inside Waiting row One more Mammut pic before going on the Flying Island Raptor Rapers Drop tower I Corsari Movieland Studios : see you tomorrow Defunct theming Waterrides Another raper Mammut Raptor again Inferis 'building' Droptower waiting row Remainings of the mine train ride It's now a gold digger kiddie attraction Sad the mine is closed Raptor time The Raptor area is themed really well. There's also a Raptor show. Didn't do the show though Raptor main entrance Raptor was only opening at 11 AM, so a lot of people were waiting when we arrived. Raptor train A LOT of people were waiting in the meanwhile Let's do it. Through the express line of course It's easily my favorite ride in Italy now. So yes, I liked it more than Ispeed. I Corsari stairs down to the station it's really a very long dark ride, with some very good scenes The underwater part at the end is really amazing. It's feels like really being underwater. And now were above the water again Pain time ... Ramses Great building, bad movie Fuga More to come

Mirabilandia part II Phobia haunted maze It's an upcharge What would a visit to Mirabilandia be without riding this attraction Above the raft ride After a smooth drive we arrived at the Gardalake Great, our park for tomorrow is still there Dinner in the lovely village of Pescheira del Garda Bartime to end the evening It was such a great night
-
Thnx for posting the POV Hans. Time for Mirabilandia This will sound weird, but this must have been my first sea sunrise ever Till then I've only been at the seasides in the west. So glad our van was still there Dammit, I forgot something .... Forgot to mention that there is wifi at the beach After a short drive, we arrived at Mirabilandia. Althoug we were there about 40 minutes before park opening, it took us till 20 minutes after park opening to buy a ticket, enter and get our V-pass. Why ? The ticket booths only opened a few minutes before park opening .... Let's do it Big splash Those guys were waiting for the splash Here it comes ... Here it is Katun is still very good Waiting for something For this Wild mouse The new Master Thai opened in the meanwhile V-pass was only valid for 1 side .... We thought .... Master Thai has a Mobius track, but you don't get out after riding 1 side, you do both tracks in 1 time. Mmmmhhh, is this 1 or 2 credits in this case ? Angles of Katun, you can now see from the Master Thai waiting row Best themed log flume boats in the world No V-pass on the kiddie, and seeing the waiting row, I was glad I already had the credit This credit I didn't have yet It's an excellent ride, but I expected more. It's not my nr 1 in Europe. No Elvis, All shook up is not the appropriate song here ! Italians must love Elvis It was EB's arms up day. I think he broke a record that day. 'Glad I broke the record because my arms started to hurt' I love the theming on the log flume You can see iSpeed (R.I.P. Steve J.) from the log flume 'Yeah, I'm really sorry but my arms started to hurt' Showtime Sing along Robb :I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A. California Dreamin' on such a winter's day I wish I could do all the stunts they did with my beemer Donutting .... (Startrekkin' - The Firm) Wonderwheel pics Also new for me Love the theming. Wish Brian was driving us Actually, I don't remember much of the ride itself Still wondering why they named their 2 shot/drop towers like this ... The bimbo thing sounds awesome though

part II More maze fun Insect house Slash battle Fiabilandia is in Rimini, so was our hotel, right next to the beach Another sea credit Go EB Room with a view In Rimini you can buy politically TOTALLY incorrect wines. Yeah, the real fascist Il Duce wine. i'm not really sure, but I think I might end up in prison when I would drink this in public out here .... but yeah, it's a ******* country where I live I guess. What do you do in Italy to eat. Find an Irish pub ..... Rose & Crown Restaurant Closed the night at the bar right behind our hotel After the beers we had that evening, we couldn't figure this out anymore .....
-
After a noon drive from the italian west coast to east coast, we arrived as scheduled in Rimini for our afternoon visit to Fiabilandia. Yay, we're there Ticket booth Fiabilandia Castle The theming looks old but it's really another lovely park, with some unique rides and exceptional landscaping. Let's dark ride Into the castle Wonder what's inside ... This is .... so weird, but at the same time really awesome in a way Spacemouse I think it's the same model as you can find in Castle Park in California. I think it was that park where this mouse is, which on the lifthill, the cars are already hanging aside 4D cinema This may sound weird but you have to ride it to agree on this : this wacky worm/big apple is by far the top attraction of Fiabllandia It's not a thrill ride, but for the rest it really has everything including big apple themed waiting row It's probably the longest wacky worm in the world. And it's a terrain worm Funky themed trains Great theming BIG apples Weird signs : no signs that it's forbidden to smoke, drink, eat, copulate, etc on the ride, BUT DON'T YOU DARE TO WEAR HATS !!!!!!!!! 2 adults + 1 child in 1 car .... no problemo 5 adult TPR members in 1 train .... no problemo Dark ride sections Animatronics Tunnels The ride keeps on going and going it's really amazingly long The ride is called Valle deli Gnomi and unfortunately rcdb doesn't know how long the ride is It even has onride pics !!! The park really is beautiful Swingdoors ha ! (Max Headroom - Paranoimia) Hey, let's look for Roxy and Chris They were nowhere around But we did find another coaster This was (also) a very long custom made mine train. I may say something forbidden now, but I liked this ride much more than BTM Where Indians live ... and you can visit them Random kiddie ride I love this park I also love fois gras. I loved this random walkthrough aswell Oh no, again fooking elfies Yes EB, I got you Park train Wow, what's that ? Don't care for now, let's follow the bar sign I wanna ride this now oh wait .... are we going to get soaked ??? Oh, the soaking is turned of when the train passes by .... so let's ride !!!! Buta firsta, we maka pizza EB sayings 'prego', his own made pizza And now I wanna ride this thing !!! Hans & Mike getting ready Don't be afraid child, they will turn the water off ... And luckily they did But you'll get eaten by that random dragon Deep throat Maze time I want to be taller than Hans ... Maze fun.(part II coming in a few minutes)

The reason why we drove to Tuscany, was a small themepark called Cavallino Matto. If the park wouldn't have had 4 rollercoasters, we would probably never have gone to this park. But I'm very glad we did because I loved this cute little park. The hotel we stayed in was just great in daylight. I had a room in one of the separate buildings near the swimming pool That's the name of the hotel Main building of the hotel The views were stunning Time for our morning park that day : Cavallino Matto Entrance plaza Parkmap Mike catching up some sleep before the park opened. The huge park entrance Guess what this is ! Great kiddie rides Let's ride Next credit Big Cheese Hans didn't really fit in the train Airtime hill Hans had problems to get out of the train too. Spaceshot tower This was such a great ride. Amazing before it reach over the top of the trees The train building you saw before, is just the train station Splash battle Giant Octopussy Biggest coaster of the park Park train Area NO picnic Mini canoe Go EB !! Last credit Horse ride Another great ride you don't see very often Droptower Safari Adventure Random drinks advertisement CF, don't those colors look great ? Next Up Fiabilandia. In between we were crossing Italy from west to east.

Part II of Rainbow Magicland Madhouse Wacky worm time Kiddie raftride Such a weird element Hello !! The theming in the park is overwhelming Oops Huntik, by far the best ride in the park. Similar to Spiderman, Indy, Dinosaur, Darkastle, .., but it includes shooting. Waiting area Random restaurant theming Souvenir shop More Huntik Even the drop ride was themed Mike got soaked on one of the waterrides and didn't ride the drop tower with us but in stead tried to dry up in the sun. It worked perfectly, except .... here Planetarium 4D movie Bye bye We still had a long drive ahead to Toscany and shortly after we arrived at the hotel, I noticed my friend ... We had an excellent dinner at the hotel "Document your food", Hans told me I do remember I had a whole bottle of excellent wine all to myself Goodnight Toscany

After 3 years of autumn trips to Germany, this year we did a 6 days Italy Trip for in total 8 different parks, 1 sea life center and 1 waterpark. The first Sunday of September, we arrived in Rome. Waiting for our flight at Brussels airport A few hours later we were already exploring Rome Somewhere over there is the vatican and some very old buildings .... that's enough culture for this trip. Time to eat And yeah .... drink We spent our Rome evening in the Trastevere district Because we had some 5-adults-fitting-in-an-average-car problems last year, we rented this van in Italy Park 1 : Rainbow Magicland Opening ceremony First coaster of the trip Still testing Hans was interested in other stuff At 10 am sharp the park opened It looks awesome It's a great ride, but no top 10 material Next ride The flying island Ancient sexual lessons I assume Some areal pics Shopping outlet Parking lot with covered parking spaces. Be on time if you want to avoid the line IOA Parks showing the way to the nearest bar must be good The theming at the park is totally awesome Fooking Elfies darkride Blur Elfie Approved by EB & Hans They didn't bother to approve it The rest of Rainbow Magicland coming up soon in part II

Okay, quickly moving on to the next update. This will be a music update before my Italian theme parks TR's. Between Spain and Italy, I had to work 3 weeks and during the day after Spain and the day before Italy, I went to 2 music festivals. The first one was Linkerwoofer in Antwerp. A free festival and despite the really bad weather it was quite crowded. My daughters and I went to see only 1 band : De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. My favorite local band. Well, in fact they are dutch, but we speak the same language , so ... The day before going to Italy, I went to Laundry Day, Antwerp with a friend. It's a dance festival, originally started as a street party in my favorite shopping street in Antwerp back in 1988, Laundry Day grew to what it is today : 60000 people, 150 dh's, 15 stages. My friend already went a few times to Laundry Day, for me it was my first time since it grew so big as it is today. I had a really awesome day. The music and company were sooooo great. I decided already to go the next edition too and to another dance festival next summer. Before moving on the pics, some youtube impressions I shot during the 2 days. De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W5bJO3pi9s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su5KJn5PXYc Laundry Day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tURdkDVIcIo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNRX1rsB1Jc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxv3W4bFSa4 Linkerwoofer : the weather really sucked It's at the left bank of the river Scheldt I'm a bit claustrophopic so I could have never ever done what my daughter is about to do here De Jeugd van Tegenwoord The rain stopped magically during the concert They were really awesome. Time for Laundry Day It was a really hot day Circus Brussel, the stage of my favorite radio channel Studio Brussel. Bling Bling stage, not really my favorite music, but my friend liked it, so I liked it 15 stages in total Dubstep stage My friend and I Dr Lektroluv Main stage I luv Dr Elektroluv Schedule of the day Mmmmmhhhh, Baccardi Our local hero : REGI !!!!! Laundry day .... At midnight, right after the fireworks, the music died, and it started to rain big time. We were TOTALLY soaked when we got to our car, but we didn't mind ... it was such an awesome day :-) :-) Next up : Italy
