  1. Your heart quickens when you catch a glimpse of an electrical tower that kinda reminds you of Kingda Ka.
  2. ^ Yes, North Bay Ontario. Hands down the craziest Zipper I've ever been on. Gotta make my way back there soon.
  3. I've not ridden it; and it's seeming unlikely that I will this year. Assuming it's the same one from CNE year's gone by it's not one of the more forceful ones. That distinction (for me at least) would go to the one at the North Bay Fair that just about knocked me unconscious 9 or 10 years ago. Seriously, that one was flat out vicious.
  4. That's awesome because I did that; except it was a wedding and only 288 miles. Which coaster? Boardwalk Bullet. It was the first season of NTAG and I couldn't imagine being in Texas without riding both so I drove between the two (somewhat unexpectedly) <-- but that's a whole other story. Anyway, my family thought I was nuts.
  5. There's a Zipper at the CNE. I can see it through my living room window as I type this.
  6. Handshake
  7. illuminati
  8. A Sky Screamer at any height trumps a Windseeker for me any day. SFM has really caught my attention lately. Enough so that I can see myself adding it to the short list of parks on my 'must visit' list in the next year or two.
  9. YES! I saw both of those tours in Toronto. I met Joey Ramone in the audience at Lollapalooza 1 during NIN's set. Such a great day. I'd also like to add Pantera. Saw them three times, but the best show was with Prong at The Diamond Club on the Cowboys From Hell tour.
  10. Granted, it's purpose however is to posthumously celebrate Jon Bon Jovi's life following a fatal alligator attack. I wish I had a backyard.
  11. For future reference, the third kiwi had a slight pickle taste to it.
  12. I hadn't actually thought of it that way until now. I'm surprised they didn't announce it as being the first coaster on the planet to have two high five sections.
  13. I agree that this level of speculation is rather premature; but that's all part of the fun. There's no harm in spitballing a bunch of cool ideas out into the universe, if only just to see what eventually comes back at you.
  14. Considering the amount of thought and detail that RMC have put into all of their previous installations, I think it's safe to assume they've gone to great lengths to ensure that the dueling aspect happens as often as possible. I'd also be willing to bet they strongly considered SFMM's operational history of diminishing returns on new rides (beyond the first season or two anyway) and included a healthy amount of a buffer.
  15. The coaster will be amazing regardless, but the intertwined dueling inversion section will be just that much more unique with two trains properly synchronized to one another.
  16. ^ that really could not be any more adorable.
  17. That makes sense. Sitting at a dead stop on the 2nd lift hill waiting for barf to be hosed away would kind of kill the momentum.
  18. The synchronization of the trains is automated and precisely timed; not just at the whim of the ride operators. Correct?
  19. SFGAdv announces... a new path!!! *the crowd goes wild*
  20. I've gotta admit, I thought the same thing when I watched the video. Certainly they must have considered this as a potential outcome and received clearance well before committing to the project.
  21. ^ as am I. Last season I assumed they'd be pretty much chain-wide by 2015.
  22. It looks fantastic. Maybe just a bit overzealous, but I'd probably have said the same about a rough rendering of Leviathan in 2010 too! I do prefer the 2nd version that CedarFair1 did a few pages back though. The one with the layout travelling along the highway towards Action Theatre. I'm such a fan of coasters that run alongside highways (like Shock Wave at SFoT).
  23. On the bright side, at least SFGadv isn't getting what was announced for La Ronde.
