I chose other because I don't claim an affiliation with either party.I tend to lean towards the right on alot of issues, but I've never voted straight ticket in my life. My father always voted straight ticket Republican and I could never understand why. I will admit that I did not vote in the last presidential election by choice. I absolutely abhor negative political advertising and, IMO, this last campaign was the most negative, nastiest and pointless I've ever witnessed. I got so sickened by it that I made the decision that I would not, could not vote for either side. I expect alot of people would say that's stupid, but to me, my vote represented the path that I wanted my country to take and the nastiness and pettiness, that presented itself in the persons of both President Bush and Senator Kerry, showed me that neither man nor party represented what I wanted for my country, so for me, my only option was a no vote. I personally think that Senator John McCain would be a good candidate for President in 2008. Regardless of who it is though, I truly hope that the candidates can focus on the real issues and avoid the petty BS (but in today's political climate, that seems less and less likely).

I can definently feel your pain on this one Wally. When I was a combat medic in the army I was attached to a mortar platoon and a hatch (on one of their APC's) that weighed about 400 pounds got slammed on my left index finger. Anyway, I really hope it heals quickly. I wouldn't want this to interfere with your training for the Olympic Beer Drinking Team!

My 17 year old daughter recently discovered Flogging Molly and really likes them. I've listened to a little of their music and really enjoyed it. I guess I need to find some of their albums now.

I was sad to hear about this. I first heard his music on the Whootah video contest entry last year. I really enjoy his music and several months ago I was able to get our local public library to purchase his Greatest Hits album and I really hope that will allow his music to live on forever around here. Rest In Peace Cap'n.

I'm really sad to hear about this. I was on the construction crew that built what was then known as the "Black Box" addition (sci-fi movies mostly) to the museum back in 1982. To think that it's going to be redeveloped into a pizza parlor is just so awful.

Stitch and Soren, I know the pain that you are feeling. My first wife had an affair, secretly aborted our first child and left me (while pregnant with our second child) while I was in the hospital due to an Army training accident. I know how deep the pain goes and for a time I also had very serious thoughts of suicide. Honestly though, even though it brought me such anguish and torment, it turned out that she unwittlingly did me a great favor. If she hadn't left I would never have met my second wife, who I've been married to for 18 glorious years. My wife showed me what true love is really all about and although I would never wish that kind of pain on anyone, I would go through it all again to have the love that I have now. What I'm trying to say is that, although this pain is so very deep and overwhelming raw, the pain will eventually begin to subside and although the memory of it will always reside somewhere deep, that memory can help you to become even wiser and more fulfilled when you find the love that you will spend the rest of your life with. I know it's hard to think about this right now, but sometime in the future I truly believe that you will find a love that will be as hopelessly in love with you as you will be with her. As a parting thought, you probably hold alot of animosity and maybe even hatred towards Nicci right now, but when you get to a point where you can, the best thing you can do is to stop being mad at her, forgive her and, if possible, even hope that she has a nice life. Holding on to anger and hatred will only lead to despair, but it is amazingly freeing when you can let go of all of that stuff and just love life and all the blessings that it can bring. My thoughts and prayers go out to you in this difficult time, but you have much to offer and many good and beautiful things left to experience, so even though it might seem impossible right now, things WILL get better.
