  1. Best - Probably X2 for me, but otherwise it's a tossup between it and Terminator, Tatsu, Riddler's Revenge, California Screamin', and good Ghostrider. Worst - Besides kiddies and Flashback (dead), probably Santa Monica's West Coaster. It's really boring for being the pier's star attraction and one of the most frequently filmed coasters.
  2. Probably the one on the Deep South Trip. But I think it's more embarrassing to wait in line for a kiddie coaster, get denied, and then take the walk of shame.
  3. ^ Yeah, I loved that the best spot of air occurs when pulling into the brakes. I didn't do much better on the Fly-o-Plane this time. I kept the plane level until it got up to speed, then I threw myself and the steering wheel to the right, hoping that rolling outward would help. But I only did one roll, slid to the left side of the car, and got stuck sideways. I tried a few times to roll over again, but I just got stuck painfully upside down. Neat ride though. Definitely a challenge. Also, the new gift shop was really fantastic (coaster parts, models, and Christmas ornaments!). And Castle was better than I remembered.
  4. Probably Wild Waves or Playland next month.
  5. I'm very glad that I managed to get on this just recently. I had some of my best suspended coaster rides on it, and the light-free night rides were absolutely amazing. Suspended coasters have become one of my favorite types, and this is probably the best of those few I've been on. I'll be very sad to see it go. I hope to make it out there again sometime before it closes. Now as for the replacement, I'm also hoping for a terrain woodie.
  6. I think a lot of it depends on whether you prefer the shorter inverts, or the bigger ones. I generally prefer the bigger ones, since they're longer, faster, and more reridable, but you can't deny the awesome forcefulness of the smaller, tighter designs. I haven't been on Montu (rain...) or Patriot but otherwise my favorite is definitely Alpengeist. The interaction with theming and landscaping, combined with the its height, give it a great sensation of speed, and the second half is unlike many other B&M designs in that the focus doesn't seem to be on just getting from one inversion to the next. I also liked Talon a lot, but it's been a long time since I last rode it. Carowind's Afterburn wasn't especially forceful, but it has a fun, solid layout and the tunnels are nice.
  7. I took some photos for him, but alas, no photo with me.
  8. This is definitely one of my most anticipated Rct parks at the moment. Great work, as always.
  9. Good TR. I've driven past the new coaster a couple times, but I don't think it was open yet. I'll need to swing by there sometime for that, plus the swings. I think they give half price discounts on wristbands when they have a significant number of rides closed. The last time I got a discount they said it was because their old haunted house darkride was closed. Also, when I last rode Ghost Blasters, they weren't charging anything, but it might've just been a slow day.
  10. Alright, I finally paypal'd over my eCheck deposit for the Deep South trip. The Scandinavia trip would be awesome, but I just recently started work, and I very much doubt I'd have enough leave by then (it might be possible if I traded a lot of blood for comptime, plus I'll be getting some travel comptime, but still..). I'll save some time and money for whatever 2010's big trip is, and in the meantime, I'm really looking forward to this one. And maybe later I'll change my mind on Texas. For now, I guess I should post more often.
  11. Anyways, the Cars ride looks cool. I'm looking forward to a nice, mostly original ride for DCA. And the new park artwork is clearly for a DisneySea. You can see the aforementioned Mermaid Lagoon rising out of the water and what looks like some kind of Mediterranean/pirate town area (plus plenty of water), but also note what looks like Lost River Delta on the top right between the town and the mountain-thing. And it's just a hunch, but I'd bet that the the round UFO looking thing is actually the Aquasphere with some kind of raised platform/track around it. And behind that you can see some golden domes which suggest the Arabian Coast theme. I don't have any definite ideas on what the mountain-thing is, but I'd put my random bet on some kind of mythology mountain.
  12. I've been to closed parks (stood outside of is more like it) that have looked much nicer and safer than that. Wow. Thanks for the TR.
