  1. I found it interesting that they didn't really provide and detailed pictures of the train considering the big selling point with this ride is the new train design. Also, figuring out who sits where on this ride will never be as complicated as it is with any of the GIBs.... -=CoasterBP
  2. My wife and I ate at the BBQ place last week during out trip and we found it ok. We both had the pulled pork. Sandwich was ok. The BBQ flavored kettle chips were WAY better than the plain ones. (And by plain, they mean PLAIN, as in NO salt and flavor.) The baked beans that came with it wear boring at best and my wife said her cole slaw was rather boring as well.
  3. On what day did you go? I was there this past Sunday/Monday and I could swear that's a pic of me climbing my fat ass into X2. And Flash Pass for Green Lantern is only available for Platinum Flash passers. $15 per person, per ride. Just like X2. My trip report will be coming soon. -=coasterBP
  4. It looks great! Too bad in about 2 years, it'll look like the rest of the ride lighting in the park... I really wish that they would maintain the ride lighting better. The lights on MF lift hill, the lights of top of Power Tower... it all needs to be taken care of! -=CoasterBP
  5. Wow. That was really cool! Thanks for taking the time to get this onto the interwebs. But I can totally see why this wouldn't "work" in todays climate.... BTW, that sweater was EPIC. -=coasterbp
  6. Hotel rates have FINALLY opened up now as well. You can make your reservations now through the website. New interface again this year. Much better than any other years, that's for sure. -=coasterbp
  7. Way cool that he did that for the community. What a great way to reach out to the community and give them something unique like this. Well done, BGT! Looking forward to more of these! -=BP
  8. You said that you were going to a Cirque show. Which one? Viva Elvis is.....OK. Not great, but it's not as bad as Criss Angel beLIEve. Also, Bootleg Canyon has some zip lines. Haven't done them, but they look fun. http://www.bcflightlines.com/ -=BP
  9. Well, I'll be staying next to DL... so anything within a half hour drive is acceptable... Thanks for the help.
  10. I've got next Saturday free and I want to hit some "local" haunts in the SoCal area. I'm planning on hitting Sinister Pointe. Any others near the area that are also worth checking out? Thanks!
  11. The new blog that was posted today states that it will be something for the whole family... I'm really starting to think it's not going to be coaster now...
  12. Congratulations! I wish nothing but the best for you two! Enjoy your lives with each other!
  13. Its hard to tell by the video, but is the spinning powered, or free spinning like most other spinning coasters....?
  14. How funny you are thinking about naming your dog something coaster related. My wife and I DID name our dog "Millie" over 3 years ago! We were thinking of using Maggie for our next dog...
  15. Hey everyone! Just wondering what days of the week are best to go to Knotts for Haunt and to USH for HHN? I'm looking to go for a long weekend, being Friday through a Monday.... any suggestions? Thanks everyone! -=coasterbp
  16. I went to the auditions yesterday and unfortunately, they were very cryptic this year as to house names. All that was available was locations and even them were sort of cryptic. A lot of people went home after auditions not knowing if they were cast, and those that did get cast, like myself, don't know if we are cast in houses or streets. We were told that we would be called in two weeks. This is VERY different from years past in that you would at least know if you were house or street by the end of the audition.... More to come! -=BP
  17. Someone else already mentioned this, and they were correct. It has to do with the chain tensioners that you can see on the lifts. It is VERY visible on the 1st lift of Iron Dragon. You can see where the chain comes off the motor and around a wheel and then back up the lift. That wheel is held up by either a counterweight, or some pistons, and keeps tension on the chain. If you watch when a train engages the lift, you will see that wheel start bouncing up and down as the wait of the train hits the chain. And since Arrow just lets their trains drop onto the lift chains, depending on how well the tensioner is set up, you will "bounce" up the lift hill. B&Ms don't typically do this because they either guide their trains onto the lift using boosters that make the train travel at roughly the same speed as the chain, or they use a small brake, which is why they almost always engage the lift chain like buttery goodness. Hope this helps out.
  18. I just got back from a week trip to CP and was able to see it testing on its last day with the heartline roll. It looked brutal. Honestly. The roll was taken WAY too fast and coming out of it looked really harsh as well. It did a dead stop from the roll and would have bashed your ears to no end. Was also there yesterday (5/22) when they were installing the new track. We did notice though, that all the trains were lined up in the station and waiting brakes the entire time the track was removed. They also installed some scaffolding in the tunnel under the station and were doing some welding on the station track, I assume, or something in there. Anyone know more of what was going on in the station/tunnel area that needed more work?
  19. I'll be going to CP next week for my annual trip, but now that Maverick is going to be delayed, we are looking into another trip the last full week of August going into Labor Day Weekend. Can anyone give me some advice as to how busy it is at that time of year? Are the schools back in yet? We are planning to go mid-week, the last full week of operation in hopes that it won't be that bad. Thanks for the help and see you all there next week! -=BP
  20. Awesome. Thanks alot!
  21. Hey Robb and Elissa! How are ya? Anywho, just a quick question. Do you get permission from the music artists to use their music in your DVDs? Is there a copyright that would prevent you from making money off of their songs? I asked this in the music thread, but didn't get an official response from you guys, so I'm just curious. I'm looking into doing something similar, and just want to know if there is something I need to look into before using someone elses songs for my benefit. Thanks for your help! ps. When are you guys coming to Orlando again?
  22. I know what it is! They're installing a gum wall. Enjoy. -=BP
