  1. I understand their policy, and it does make sense - it prevents fraud. If that policy didn't exist, someone could upload a park here and then another person could take the park that was uploaded here and upload it there under a different username - stealing an accolade (though, in reality, NE accolades and every other award for winning a RCT contest don't mean anything) from someone who rightfully deserves it.
  2. Okay, I know this is not NoLimits news as presented on Ole's website, but this does not constitute an entirely new thread. I can report that for those of you with Macs that run NoLimits, it runs without a hitch on Mac OS 10.7. I have ran all three of the applications many times, and it's like I never upgraded. HOWEVER - After attempting to open Jakizle's new roller coaster (looks great Jake!), I am disappointed to say that the Pack Extractor does not run anymore, as it was developed as a PowerPC application, and OS X 10.7 does not support them anymore. NoLimits itself is designed to run on either processor, and that's why it still works. Hopefully this is of help to our Mac users.
  3. I just applied. It's time I get involved in this game...
  4. I should apply. I am certainly a genius in my own little fantasy world. That counts. The only thing that I'm not sure about is the work start date. I would love an opportunity, but if I was needed to go to Hersheypark quickly for some reason, I wouldn't be able to, because I don't have a car.
  5. Don't be. It's no trouble. The contest didn't end until today, so it's not like you were disqualified. We just thought players would jump at the opportunity to use the new coaster, but it turns out the coaster style isn't so popular.
  6. Okay, fair enough. Good thing I looked before doing anything. FYI, my criteria for winning was going to be, "most likely to kill someone riding in an unbalanced car". EDIT: All taken care of. Lots of users with 5xx and 6xx points now.
  7. We have a discrepancy. User kellzcoasterz (69.181.159.44) has given three 0.5 ratings, one 1.5 rating and one 2 rating to each of our Track of the Week Entries for this week. Quite frankly, I don't think the entries the ratings were given to deserve anything lower than a 3. Because of this discrepancy, I'm going to go ahead and hand-pick a winner myself.
  8. Like I said - completely far-fetched. One of the brakes must have...braked...too harshly.
  9. This is probably completely left-field and far-fetched, but... Could the penny that fell be the reason why the train valleyed? EDIT: The user removed the video. Hmmmmmm.
  10. Okay, so, I think this leaves us with two options - either we end the contest today or extend it to Friday. I think we should extend it to Friday. Thoughts?
  11. Pardon me being uneducated, but why not? El Toro has a drop angled at 76 degrees and has lap bars. The issue isn't whether or not the ride needs OTSRs - it's whether or not the seats need tall backrests. Being in a near layed-back position puts strain on the back and neck on the way up, and being in a near diving position puts strain on the way down due to backwards acceleration - if the body isn't properly supported. The seats on Millennium Force have an extension to the backrest, and Intimidator 305's seats are standard looping ones. I hope Intamin decides to use lap bars with a backrest extension like on Millennium Force.
  12. Maybe you should try re-installing your game. There's an option when you uninstall that you can select to keep all of your saved games, etc (not sure about custom content though).
  13. GOOD. Looks completely unique. With a wicked overbank to boot...
  14. My head must be really hollow - that slipped right past me. Consensus - should we revert back to the original plan?
  15. We're losin' 'em. Not only have we not had a single upload in three days - we also have no entries for the Track of the Week at all! Brain wave - perhaps we should drop doing a certain design every week and just weight-rank all tracks that have been uploaded over a week?
  16. I went ahead and changed the thread title, for two reasons. Number one, we don't get enough RCT issues to constitute an entire sticky thread, and number two, it's a quick and easy fix that will shut people up.
  17. Here is the official Loopy Landscapes patch. It should work. If not, I suggest re-installing. EDIT - the Gold Edition is considerably older than the Deluxe pack, so it might not work period. But, I'm not sure.
  18. Just a brain wave - it would be freaking awesome if you used invisible pathways and zero clearance/special build mode to make it look like guests walk up the stairs.
  19. According to weather.com, between 3:00pm and 4:00 pm, it was about 101-102F and felt like 116F.
  20. It's possible that one of the lift spikes released the train too early. EDIT: Thermal expansion of heat can cause an increase in friction as well.
  21. Oh, dear. Isn't the helter-skelter you photographed the one with the fast-moving conveyor? Oh, great, now I have to try and find that Oktoberfest TPR video where everyone was tripping on the conveyor...
  22. I should go to DelGrosso's for the heck of it. Altoona isn't that far away from State College.
  23. Oh, so THAT's what I smell through my Macbook's fans every time I go on the site...
  24. From Screamscape (which means take it with a grain of salt) - As long as they hold on to Whizzer, I'll be happy.
