South Africa is another good guess! But not right....... we were there a few years ago and came very close to adopting a kid! The process is easy in SA compared to many other countries. Here is one of my favorite pics from that trip. -

Nobody has guessed the right country so far! But, I do like the Thailand guess...we have been there three times... here is the link to the TR from when my wife went a month ago. http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51783&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 here are a few more pics This is the front of the hotel we stayed in. good luck with your guesses, and remember to try to figure out what we did while we were there! -
Up front, I ripped the idea off of Robb, from when he did this same thing a few months ago. My wife and I just celebrated our fifth anniversary with an awesome trip! Follow along thru the pictures and try to guess exactly where we went, there is one specific thing that we came here to do. The first person to guess what it is, send me a PM with your address and we weill send you out something cool from here. Here are a few pics to get started........and yes there was a park and a coaster...but that was not the reason we came here! and some awesome mountains.... start the guessing and I will post some more pics soon! this place has some great beaches.... and a few buses We also had to take a train.... fourth flight...whew...flights are done! third flight...for this flight we had a BED! Second flight... it took a long time to get where we were going...the first class tickets helped with the long flights! this is the first flight...

Erik, thanks for posting tons of cool pics frommy area of the country! The wildcat was awesome! When it was here in Kansas City, my parents rode it on their first date! The last pic in KC when you asked about the connection to the sports clubs, were you thinking about when Lamar Hunt owned both the Chiefs and WOF? Your pics were great! Thanks again for sharing! -

Thanks to everyone for following along so far! This should be just about the last of the pics that I have. Feel free to ask any questions about Thailand or the parks! I will end with the pic of the King...the Thai people look upon him as almost a god on earth. we leave next week for a super fantastic overseas trip! follow along with us when we get back as we will try to play a " where in the world " game..like robb and elisa... the place is amazing and will be very hard to guess!!!!!!!!! Thanks again, April this is me on the shuttle bus. The sticker I had to wear shows that i am not Thai! Duh! I have bigger boobs than any Thai woman I saw the entire trip! Whenever I would go to buy a shirt, the Thai woman would smile and say " they too big, they too big" and point at my boobs! shuttle bus Our neighbor here at home saw this pic, and said" that guy doesnt look thai at all!" The Thai people really dont care about copyright infridgement, or registered trademarks. inside the giants house help! i have fallen, and I cant get up! life alert...where are you!!!!! I make an awesome female knight!!!! more coaster shots the assortment of flavors is great!!! You cant that here in the mid west! um......noted....I think.... Helmets are required!!!! I really like the originality of the names here! Thai cowboys are AWESOME!!!!! most everyone wore these for the water rides. once again, noted! Why is this dude wearing hot pink underwear???? That malaria water looks awesome! I had no idea what they were saying at this show...they kept shouting in Thai over the speaker system...I dont think that the native Thai speakers even understood them! The Thai version of a tee pee! noted I was not so sure about the monorail....doesnt it look kind of rickety to you????? I did not go into snow town...it snows enough where I live, so i didnt need to see it here! Welcome back to my Photo TR! -

Thank you my Big Friend!!!!!!! Did you notice that Sathit has friend spelled wrong on his shirt? When a company spells something wrong a shirt, they give them away to kids like him. Thanks to everyone else for the kind words also!!! Finally here is Dream World! It cost about $30 for them to come pick you up at your hotel, take you to the park, have unlimted rides, a full buffet lunch, and return to your hotel! Not bad at all! I had to pay a different price since i am a Farang, but that is common to most of Bangkok. I also had to wear a sticker that said I was a foreigner! ANyway, here is the first set of pics. I will try to put more of the pics up after dinner tonight. here is my comfy seat!!!! is that bar down the middle in the track just to hold it in place? and here it is!!!! this thing scared the crap out of me! I have not ridden thousands of coasters like a lot of you...but I still know that this one sucked!!!! It almost totally stopped half way thru and I was not sure we would make it back to the station! Here is the girl version of the toilet. The Thai people have a thing for ghosts. There is a soap opera where the ghosts are the major part of the show! Space Mountain!!!!! Where am i again???? My husband told me it was ok to ride all the rides here....but after seeing some of the Thai construction and maintence...I had second thoughts! I think these people just got married. One of several politically incorrect parts of the park. This is one of my favorite pics!!!!! You think six flags will put these up next year???? I finally made it! -

I m so happy that everyone is enjoying the pics so far! next is Siam Niramit. here is the website...please chcek it out! http://www.siamniramit.com/ if you make it to Bangkok, it is the must see show in town! its worth every baht. The elephant walks thru the audience, fire goes down the aisle, a river forms on stage, the audience is part of the show, and the ending is spectacular! You cant bring your camera inside, so chcek out the video on the website to see the inside better. more street food! most of the food is ok to eat from these vendors as long as you watch them actually cook the meat and dont wash their knife off in some nasty water! ok, there is a reason for this picture. On our first trip to Thialand, I wanted to give money to everyone on the street! We quickly learned that the people begging were actually kidnapped by Cambodians and had legs or arms cut off to make them look worse on the street. Sometimes they also will give the person a baby to hold, and if you watch for awhile you can see them switch the babies out! If you do want to help, there are plenty of places that could really use the money! on the other hand, there is this other guy we usually see without legs, and he rides around on a skateboard doing tricks with his hands and arms! He is awesome! The green guy, is one of the protective warrior monkeys. Thai people will get a tattoo of him, or Hanuman and believe that the tattoo will protect them from bad things. some of the dancers were outside before the show started! you can feed the elephant sugarcane for $1 outside the show are a few of the characters. the show basically tells the story of Bangkok from a mythical perspective., with 150 actors and 500 costumes! -

thanks everyone for the nice words! its a nice feeling that everyone is liking the pics so far! If you have any questions, let me know! I have no idea! up next is Siam Nirimit and Dream World! Spirit houses are a way of life in Thailand. This is in front of a huge mall. The theory is that the spirits have a place to live so they wont come and haunt the mall or house! People come by and leave drinks and food and money for the spirits! Glad I didnt have to make a stop in here! another place I worked at while in BKK If you love spicy...this is the dish for you! Jack is our tailor...if you ever make it to Bangkok, look him up! He is awesome! My husband has several suits from him and wears them when he interprets for the president. dessert....never again!!!!! I have no idea what this was that I ate! this monitor lizard is alike the black cat in the US. Thai people are very superstitious, and have tons of do's and dont's. This is one of the classes that I gave my lecture to. I love this sign!!!!!!! Just in case you dont know how to use the western style toliet....here is a sign to show you how! this is a statue of the guy that started it all. Time for more culture. This is the Joe Louis puppet theatre. It takes hundreds of hours to make the puppets, and 3 people to work the puppet at the same time. The show has English subtitles so you can follow along. Since my name is April, I just had to take this pic! I rode in the back of this thing. When you are ready to get off, you stand up and push a doorbell on the roof! Siam Paragon is an awesome mall. Very upscale. If you are in need of a new Ferrari, this is the place to go in Bangkok! another aquatty potty...and yes, that is what you use the bucket for! and the toilet paper goes in the trash! Elephants are all around Thailand. This is me, with the group i was there to interpret for. Each of us is signing our sign names. breakfast balls!!!!!!! We ate at a Mcds on a previous trip....the french fries taste the same...but everything else is odd! this is mago and sticky rice...a really popular dessert in Thailand!!! Yummy! the pets section is kinda scary...you can buy about any pet imaginable there! blueberry! this is how they sell popsicles! Its a great treat for 10 baht! today was saturday, so i went to the weekend market. It is the largest outdoor market in the world! You can buy just about whatever you want there.. Our last trip here, this guy tried to get my husband to buy a venemous snake and take it home in an empty coke bottle down the front of his pants. This tattoo guy is awesome! He is blind and sells belt buckles. the view from my room ok, I made it back to Bangkok..here is my hotel in the Silom area. -

Thanks everyone for your comments far! Having Sathit in our life has really helped keep our 9 year old son grounded...we have had many discusions about what life is like for him..so we do not get the begging for toys and crap when we ge to the store anymore! I forgot the pics of the bigger tigers! Yes the babies are raised around people and are on the mellow side, especially after they eat! Now these next cats are only 15 months old, and are a little scary! With my friend Tong being a tour guide in her other life...she got me in for less than $20 for everything! Hope you have enjoyed it so far! We have a lot of people down south of where we live trying to keep these cats in their backyard! If you see someone with a tiger in their backyard, they probably live near us! The guys that worked with the togers kept trying to get me to lay down with the big ones....no way!!!! They had the tigers jump into the pool and splash me!!! I was just a few feet away!!!! yes that is me inside the cage with them! -
Hello TRP friends! I am going to do this TR in a few parts because there are loads of pics and a lot of info to post. For the past few weeks I have been in Thailand interpreting for various groups and giving lectures around Bangkok. While there, I could not pass up the opportunity to visit a few different parks in the country, and come back to post pics and let you all see! Hopefully the pics and their descriptions will give you a good understanding about the country.... If all you care about is coasters, feel free to skip to the last part because the first two parks are coaster free! my last meal in CM! up next is Dream World! and coasters! the Wai is the formal greeting of Thai people. the pick up truck is the main form of transport in CM one of many Engrish signs they had anew baby panda, but you could only see it thru a video feed. Sathit LOVED the fish! He had never been outside of his village, so this was a little overwhelming! This was the second park...chiang mai zoo! They dont get a lot of Farang"foreigners" there. This is the boy we sponsor.Sathit. He had never talked on the phone before! On the other end of the line is our son Parker...Sathit had no idea he could talk back with him! I forgot the real name of this thing....we just call it the hairy fruit! next, I went shopping with Tong. I was going to meet the boy that we sponsor thru Compassion International. His family lives in the middle of nowhere Thailand in a hut. So we bought these things as gifts for the family. most of this food was fermented! ok....this is me with one of the women from the longneck tribe. The women start the rings at age 5. The rings dont actually strech their necks, but crush their collarbones! elephant soccer! and elephants dancing! they had camels also! the lions are not near as playful as the tigers. this is a fun way to take a nap!!!!! the tigers are LOUD when they purr!!!! tiger kingdom is different because they let you do stuff like this! this is my first "park" they dont have many places like this in the US at all! my new hotel in CM after a few days I flew up north to Chiang Mai...this is the new airport in Bangkok. i dont think they have this in the US! the hotel at night most of the hotels are along the river like this. you have to take a boat to get to the hotel from the sky train this is my friend Tong, her real name is Porn! but we all call her Tong. She help me interpret al ong the way. get your huge hand off my ass! outside my hotel I started off mild, and became more adventurous after a few days. fresh pineapple in a bad rocks! they serve it to you with a bag of salt, sugar, and hot peppers! street food! This is the same ronald that is in my husbands profile pic my hotel on the river...its awesome! finally here after 30 hours of travel. The first of many squatty potties. You can add our own funny thoughts about the name of the city. thank you! Tokyo shuttle JAL food amy was my seatmate for 13 hours here is the first a several food pics that will be included in the report. my 747 to tokyo this is me ready to go!

I really liked the pics of the drive thru zoo! It brought back memories of when i was a kid and we went to one in southern Missouri. My mom rolled down the window and this ostrich stuck its head in the car and ate my french fries! We went to a drive thru zoo when we were in Africa. They dont have the same kind of rules there that we do here. Here are some pics to show you what I mean. After the drive thu part was over, you could pay 5 Rand and play with the baby tigers and lions. For 10 Rand you could play with the older cubs, we passed on that, but really enjoyed the younger ones! My wife and I have enjoyed your TR so far! This guy was RIGHT next to the car window! We were in this old piece of crap car, and the back seat didnt have a hnadle for the window, you had to take the one off the front and pass it back to roll it up! My wife was screaming for the handle and rolling like lightning! -

I just heard today that they are pushing the opening back until some time in july... I was out there the other day and they have a lot to do until opening day! It was fun to read your TR about my home park! Would agree that timber wolf is terrible! My 9 year old son refuses to ride it anymore, and he will ride ANYTHING! -

Hey Paul, it was good to meet you today at the Park! It was a great ride, just like Paul said. My wife was a GCI virgin before today, and fell in love with them this afternoon! I will only post a few pics. I saw the camera that Paul was using and his pics will turn our much better than mine! Thanks for checking out our pics! Jeffrey and April Lift hill! This is going down onto the lift hill. Our TPR were a big hit! Lots of people came up and talked to us about them! The fat ACER woman gave us a mean look. The ride OP guy took this pic, and when we asked if he would, he said anything for TPR! This is a fellow TPR guy but I forgot his name. The line was not too bad. Only about 20 minutes running two trains. They brought in some cats from a wildlife place. These are the coupons that we got. It was nice to get a free dinner! -
Thanks everyone for the nice replies! Big Mike, our cat wasnt home yet when you came to visit over the summer. His name is Jag and he is a Sphnx. He is really annoying! Also Big Mike, I got my friend Blake that owns all the tattoo shops to draw you up a Big Mike Road Show tattoo with some coasters behind it...so if you ever get back this way we will have to stop by Blakes shop for a few hours!!!! Thanks Chris for the nice words about my hot wife She had never ridden a coaster before she met me!!!!! I voted that the UFC person was a woman! I think i lost!

You are right!!! i am sure very few other people here know what we are talking about! We live in the midwest and use a different evaluation/rating system. My wife and I are both interpreters and hold the same certifications as your wife does...we have master in one and comprehensive in the other....different titles for the same thing! I totally forgot about the amazing race, I caught the end of it...thanks! That mom signs half way descent for a hearing parent, at least they can understand each other! Check out our Photo trip report from last week so you can see what we look like.. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49688
