We went to lumpini on December 9th. I dont remember any of the names but I think we still have the fight card from that night. The fight was supposed to be at Ratchadamnoen that night but got moved to lumpini for some reason. When you go make sure you check out the Joe Lewis puppet theater that is right next door, when I first heard about it I thought it was lame, but in person it is awesome!! Dave, we didnt get to ride and coasters this time in thailand, we were supposed to go to this theme park that would come pick you up at the hotel, take you to the park, feed you a buffet lunch, and bring you back, all for $20. But our plane was late coming out of dallas and we missed our connection in Narita so it out us a day behind in Bangkok and missed the park. Two years ago we went to what can only be described as a Thai version of a white trash carnival and we rode some scary rides there!!! If I can find those pics I will post them. Here are a few more pictures from Thailand. Right in front of our bungalow at night. This is from the front porch of our bungalow We went to this "monkey school" April was pissed because they made the monkeys wear these collars. We rode this elephant, Pola, up thru the mountains. -

Yes we went thru the new airport. it is a lot better than old DM!! I know people have said a lot of negative things about it, but we thought it was really nice. passport control went really quick. the only problem is all the people at the arrivals hall, that part is worse than DM! -

Thanks everyone for the nice comments about the report. The funny thing is that I am not that tall for here in the US, I am 6'3"! You are exactly right about the traffic picture! It is at Siam station right by MBK, that was one of our favorite places to shop. I go tmy hair cut in MBK, and it took about any hour becasue half of the time was the scalp, neck, and shoulder massage! All for abuot $8! Then go to eat up on the 6th floor some really good food for about $2 including a Singha! arrowfanman, we always go to the weekend market to! I have a video of it this year, i have never seen so much different crap being sold in the same place. this guy tried to get me to buy this venemous snake and take it home in an empty pepsi bottle, then when i got to the airport he told me to just put the bottle down my pants and nobody at customs will know i have it! Now, i bought a lot of weird things throughout my years but never a venemous snake in a pepsi bottle! if you have any more questions let me know! -
Hello everyone, my wife april and I went back to asia again this year, we try to get out of the US a couple of times a year and this time we chose Thailand and Japan. Most americans stop at tokyo because they dont want to fly the ectra 7 hours to get to thailand, but it is so worth it! we were supposed to go to this theme park called dreamworld, but we slept thru the time we were going to get picked up by the park to go(jet lag really sucks, even after traveling the world several times i cant figure out how to beat it!) I will post a few pics from thailand because it is such an awesome place then also will post some pics from disney. our flight was kansas city-dallas-tokyo-bangkok total of about 23 hours in the air. our plane was late into tokyo so we had to spend the night there on the way then took singapore airlines, the number one rated airline in the world, into bangkok. if you have never flown on a foreign airline you are really missing out! they are way above most all US carriers. The thai people are all very welcoming and will always "wai" to you when passing and say sawadee krup which is like good day. we spend a week and half in bangkok then flew to tokyo for disney. we have been to all the US disney parks but this was a first foreign park for us. we hit disneyland the night we arrived and deisney sea then next day. during both days there we saw a total of 3 non japanese people!!!!! they are crazy about disney in japan!!! and the girls wear tight little mini skirts and high heel boots around the park all day!!!!!! plus all the crazy disney hats and gloves. this was our first time in japan, we had spend a lot of thime in thailand before, but not in japan. I thought that the Thai people were short, but the Japanese are way shorter! I didnt fit into the hotel bathroom and was tto tall to ride raging spirits, I rode it anyway! We can also speak thai a little but not japanses at all so we had a bit harder time there. disney sea was awesome, and we loved TOT!!!! Journey was also great and maybe my favorite ride at either park. i shot a video of it but have no idea how to get it up onto the site. We got to TDS about 20 min before it opened and the crowd was already huge! April took my picute and i look like a giant! EVERYONE ran to TOT to get a FP, the line just to get the FP went way down over the bridge! I have never seen anything like it before! when we rode it, there was only a 45 min wait. we really liked the story line and the ride itself. Even the characters at the park are short, when i got my picture taken with them, they all acted like I was so tall, and then all the japanses people waiting for thier picture woould just laugh!!! it was also weird that the japanese people wanted to take my picture or have thier pic taken with me. anyway at TDS we rode, TOT, journey, indy, raging spirits, and that was about it i think. there were so many people there as you can tell by the pictures. it was weird that TDS had a bunch of weird rules about taking pictures, but when the gates finally opened in the moring, everyone RAN full speed to TOT and nobody said a thing. But then I try to take a picture inside a ride and the are signing camera, then make a big X with their arms??? so sprinting is ok, pictures are not! if you have any questions about our trip feel free to ask1 one last picture of the mcdonalds in bkk. hope you enjoyed everything about our trip. Jeffrey and April this picture is our of order, but this woman sat in our bangkok hotel all day and played music! this is me trying to get into our bathroom at the hilton tokyo bay. i look like a giant!! disney bus this bus went less than one block to the monorail station!!!! a japanese dinsey wedding these girls wanted to take their picture with april. most all the girls did the V for victory sign in their pictures I was on one knee for this pic!!!!!!! thats the height difference between us! April in only 5 feet tall and never the same height as the characters!! Tower of Terror. great story line, even tho it was ALL in japanese i still think we figured it out:) April and me right before they tried to tell me i was too tall to ride!!! raging spirits inside journey my favorite ride!!!! right inside TDS. we were standing on a bench for the pic and this guy made us get down. but sprinting to TOT is ok? what was she wearing??? can you find the american???? its a small world. it was aprils first time for this at any of the parks we ate a light snack from here. the nachos were weird!!! jack from nightmare before christmas the monorail in tokyo. we didnt know you have to pay to ride it. we thought it was the same as the US!!!! like i said, everyone loves the king! this is all the crap we bought in Bangkok. everything is so cheap!!! bangkok traffic is horrible!!!!! the only church in bangkok more thai boxing thai boxing, these kids start when they are 12!!!! we sat ringside and the fights were great! this is at mcds, many of the thai people were eating whatever this was more monkeys house on stilts this was our dinner we ate in this house on stilts over the ocean the monkeys were awesome!!! they swam right up to our boat! the famous bangkok toilet us and the monk after we gave the medicine and he sprayed water on our heads this is a ypical bangkok shop. we bought stuff to give to the monks in the temple. mostly medicine. Sushi??? you see this sight often in the market. you pick your fish and they hack it up right there! eels that tha thai people eat. we bought some and let them go for more merit. we are baptist so we dont get some of the buddah stuff. offering the monks food. you have to take your shoes off and stoop down while they pray for you. Food for the monks. if you feed them it brings you good merit. April wasnt allowed to touch them and had to hold my arm as i gave them her food! this is the dinner I cooked at the cooking school. it was delicious! the bangkok mascot. its a very long story!!!! KFC in bangkok. not exactly the same as home. everything is very spicy! me doing the same thing April getting measured for her new clothes. In bangkok, tailored clothes are cheaper than off the rack stuff in the US our cooking school at the Basil restauraunt flower market all the flags are for the king. he has been on the throne for 60 years and everyone loves him!!! our hotel, Marriott resort and spa riverside April and two of the chicks at bed supper club our bed at bed supper club this is Bed Supper Club in Bangkok. you lay in bed and eat dinner while the DJ spins music.

Patriot in the back was awesome!!! You are exactly right! It was also nice that it was a walk on or re ride each time we were on it! The park does seem to have a better feel to it than back when lamar hunt owned it. But i do wish they still had the zambezie zinger! That was an awesome ride, and no restraint system at all! -

The park is actually is very nice. There is nothing really to complain about, but besides patriot and mamba there isn't that much to jump up and down about either. I have seen it get busy on the weekends, but since kansas city isn't that big and isn't a destination city, its not bad during the week. There are a lot of trees, especially compared to san diego where you are. -

Well it had been a long time since I had been back. I used to go a ton when I was a kid. Back when they had the Zambezie Zinger, Schoosh Boomer, and the Extreme Roller. Overall the park was very nice. Patriot was by far the best coaster there. Mamba was also good. I have always like the theme of the whole park. One thing that has stayed the same since I was a kid is that the water on the viking voyager still smelled like butt hole! -
The wife and I went up tp Worlds of Fun last weekend and had a great time The park was really empty, and the people that were there look half way normal. I say that beacuse Missouri was voted the fattest state in the union, but most of the people there look of normal size, except for the man dressed as dog the bounty hunters wife! Anyway here are the pics, neither my wife or I are very with the camera so if the pics suck I am sorry in advance. As a side note, the UK shirts in the pics are not actually from the UK. We never buy anything when we are there because its way too expensive for my cheap self. The only things we ever buy is for my 90 year old grandmother who always wants something when we go. The shirts we have on were actually bought in Bangkok for 80 Baht which is $2, becasue that is where they are made. No disrespect to our friends in the UK, I am just cheap. WOF from the parking lot. Thanks for checking out our pics. OK here is the dude dressed like dogs wife, I didnt take a pic of his/her front becs I was scared to get beat up by a shim. Patriot I think that I am still smiling a little bit. I had a smile on my face before I rode it. Not so much after it was over. Spinning Dragons, the line was longer for this than Patriot Timber Wolf, this has to be the worst coaster I have ever been on us with snoopy, and mamba in the background Its not as tall in real life The name is in the photo so not much else to say Patriot in the front Patriot in the back

PTR: Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas
aslinterpreter replied to Hattuchili's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hey Soren, did you like the people you ate dinner with? Or did you have a private table? As for the disney line compared to the other LARGE ships, it has to be right up there at the top, but none of the big ships can compare to the smaller ships out there. the personal service and atmosphere is unmatched. My wife and I have worked for the cruise lines for several years and when we have a choice on which ship to work we will pick the smaller lines each time, not even considering the destinations. -

From what I can remember about the baldknobbers is that they had their meetings on top of the hills in the ozarks, and that the hills were called knobs. The meetings were on top of the hills that had no trees and looked bald. They would set these huge fires on top of the knob and just the fire would scare all the people in the ozarks. They were the first terrorists from what I have heard. Some people said they were like vigilantes. Does fire in the hole count as a powered coaster? It has several drops at the end that are not powered so was just curious. -
Hello everyone, this last wekend was Deaf Awareness Weekend at SDC in Branson MO and for 6 years now April and I have gone down to interpret for the Deaf that come that day. They give us a free hotel room for the weekend and free passes for us and our friends so its a good deal! We live in Kansas City so its only about a 4 hour drive. The weather was perfect and a great time was had by all! Powder Keg and Wildfire were both excellent! The new kids part was cool also! A little backstory before the pics. My family used to go each year to SDC when I was a kid. But my parents always told me these urban legends about the park. The first one was with fire in the hole. They said that one day as the last train of the day disbatched the operator hit the wrong button and sent the train to the holding station which was just tall enough for the trains, he yelled for everyone to duck but the guy in the front didnt hear, and lost his head which ended up in the womans lap behind him! The second story was about the flodded mine ride. This one went that as a family went thru, their son who was sitting in the back of the boat began screaming, the parents thought that he was just scared of the ride and didnt pay attention, but when they got back to the station they found out that he had been bit by a water moccison(sp) and was dead! So the first time I rode this, I was 7, and we get stuck for 30 min right by this prisoner guy that keeps saying"sweat a little blood and you might get outta this place" So for the next 23 years I have been scared of both those rides, I still ride them but feel weird each time I ride! Well onto the pics. This is where I got stuck by the sweat a little blood guy for 30 min as a kid. Snakes on a boat! Ready for the mine ride. April and some friends kid at the new Exposition area. April on wildfire Ralph and Ralphie after the robbery. The $ that they collect goes to buy gifts for poor kids at christmas. This is inside the shack at the train robbery. the robbers play video games while they wait for the next train. Two train whistles means that the train will be there in 2 min. First time on one of these. Didnt throw up! This took several tries to finally get the fire! Power Keg launching. Me and the Showgirls! Wildfire. It was very nice and smooth! Last year April rode it with theis deaf and blind woman! That was funny! Fire inside Fire in the hole. Fire in the Hole station. Baldknobber is a weird word! This is the 7' guy that has worked there forever!

WDW Trip Advice Needed!
aslinterpreter replied to FlyerACE1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We went last Sept. and there was nobody there!!!! I dont think that it matters which day you do which park at that time of year. The longest line was for test track and that was under 10 min! We had a lot of re-rides all week long. It was all great until a hurricane shut everything down, but since they shut down the park early one day, they gave us an extra day on our passes! My wife and I got engaged at epcot, thats kind of on the opposite end from honeymoon, and we go back every year!
