  1. That makes sense to me... after all if they put it on the brake run they could make it a really long clip because you'd have a ton of time to sit and listen to it.
  2. The lights on the Ferris Wheel look horrendous. I know it's Six Flags and they don't care about things like this but they really need an LED package like the Cedar Fair parks have been getting. At the very least they should replace some bulbs.
  3. We've discovered that the secret to getting a great ride on Superman Ride of Bizarro the Ride or whatever it's called this week is to ride it in the front. Everywhere else it's rattly and while it's still very good, it's not on the same level that it used to be.
  4. ^Yeah that sums it up. I think by now enthusiasts know that Knoebels is an amazing park... I've never heard of anyone going there and not loving it so I don't think of it as underrated. Believe me though it was hard to pass up an opportunity to gush about Knoebels.
  5. Underrated where? By who?
  6. Well... I have terrible news everyone. The people over at Great Adventure History just discovered that this exists. Let's hope the park hasn't figured that out yet.
  7. I'm with you... I can't help but be a little nervous because of how bad Green Lantern at Magic Mountain is. It's absolutely the worst coaster I've ridden that's still in operation. It's really awful. I'm optimistic though because Batman at SFFT seems to get nothing but overwhelmingly positive reviews.
  8. And the United States should replace the postal service with a fleet of hyper speed, flying, mail carrying unicorns but both have about the same chance of ever happening.
  9. Speaking of beer, much like Six Flags New England they still had Summer Shandy on tap on closing weekend. If this park serves me a Summer Shandy on tap during Holiday in the Park they'll officially be my new favorite park ever. well... favorite park not named Knoebels
  10. If you really want to laugh... look at this page. The stock photos make the food look amazing but the descriptions don't match at all. It's basically a bunch of pictures of amazing holiday meals and then text that essentially says "yeah it's more crappy chicken tenders". lol My favorite is this picture... Followed by this description that has NOTHING to do with the picture at all... What?
  11. Ahem... I believe you meant "Poinsettia Peak Sponsored by Takis". Face the intensity... face it. PS: I still can't believe this is happening. The fact that they're running 6 coasters until January in New Jersey (one of which is an 80 MPH hyper coaster) is awesome. I really hope this event is successful and they keep doing this.
  12. I'm glad I'm not the only one looking at that picture, completely ignoring Valravn and just admiring Raptor's new paint.
  13. Whenever this thread gets bumped I look over to the right and hope it says "DirkFunk"... Then when it says someone else's name I get this overwhelming sense of disappointment. Is it just me?
  14. Score one for team Mean Streak. I thought I was the only one that liked that ride.
  15. Mako will be fun, it will be a great hit for SeaWorld, but Kumba will still be the best coaster in Florida. This. Kumba and Montu are both elite coasters. This. If it turns out better and isn't Thunder Dolphin, that means what? The bulk of the good work Mako needs to do is in year one drawing people, and the best way it can draw people is by reliably working and providing a quality ride. It'll probably be the best coaster in Florida: that's OK with me. No dude, I talked to so many people that totally said "to hell with SWO" the second they found out Mako was a B&M. My next door neighbor got tickets for the whole family in anticipation of Mako being a Not B&M (Not B&M is his favorite manufacturer by far), so when he found out that this wasn't the case, he walked around looking for homeless people to give the tickets to but they wouldn't take them; not even as fuel for their garbage fires when it gets cold. One of them even chased him off with a shopping cart. My other neighbor is a PETA member and her favorite movies are Free Willy, Free Willy 3, and Blackfish (she tried to run me over once after she found out that I had a pet goldfish when I was like 8). She still loved Seaworld and went there once a month. Until Mako was a B&M. So really, the only thing SWO is marketing by Mako being a B&M is a 10+ hour road trip to the nearest Intamin Hyper 750 miles away, something that every reasonable tourist in Orlando will do the moment they walk up to SWO's gates and see that Mako is a B&M.
  16. Based on the trajectory of that turn simple math tells us that the ride is not heartlined, the trains will rattle and the ride will be completely forceless.
  17. Thunderbolt at SFNE has always done this too but much like Comet the ride itself is very smooth and enjoyable. I actually think it's kind of cool.
  18. ^^^Gatekeeper might be the smoothest coaster I've ever ridden. I'll never understand the complaints about roughness. Someone please explain this to me.
  19. I never understood the negativity towards Rockit. I found it to be my least favorite adult coaster on Universal Property but of no fault of it's own... It's just part of a great group of coasters.
  20. This is a tough one because there's no cut and dry answer. Generally vertical loops don't do a ton for me but if it's a Schwarzkopf loop it's an awesome element. Generally I wouldn't say cobra rolls but if it's Kumba or Raptor then that all changes... I can't really answer this without naming specific elements on specific rides. When asked what my favorite inversion is on any coaster though there's no hesitation... Kumba's zero g roll. It's ridiculous, it's so great it's almost euphoric. Honorable mentions go to the loop on Montezoomas Revenge and the Pretzel on Montu. I have no idea how it takes that element at that insane speed with that kind of snap all while being glass smooth. In the back seat you're basically convinced you're about to die. God I miss that B&M. I want that B&M back. Oh and I realized I just mentioned 2 rides in the same park but it's hard not to when they have a B&M lineup like that.
  21. Does anyone know the answer to this? Is the breeding ban simply a stipulation of the Blue World approval that they could ignore assuming they don't move forward with it or are they 2 mutually exclusive things that came out of the same hearing?
  22. This was a bonus weekend that was announced about 2 weeks ago. They were originally supposed to be closed which probably explains the light crowds. Friday was warm but the other 2 days were probably about average.
