  1. I'm sure regardless of the restraints it'll be a great ride.
  2. I guess with me I don't see the difference. The coasters I consider to be the best are the ones I consider to be the most fun. So for me my top 5 are 1) Millennium Force, 2) El Toro, 3) Phoenix, 4) Maverick and 5) Fury 325.
  3. This thread would be much easier if everyone just showed up, said "Son of Beast" and left.
  4. I'm just patiently waiting for the Skull Mountain first drop love fest to start...
  5. It's ridiculous to argue that it would be better than Leviathan without riding it. I was only pointing out how early on it is in construction to give us a little perspective on how far away we are from actually riding it, not to imply that once it was complete (but before it opened) it would make sense. It would still be ridiculous.
  6. Arguing where a coaster that's currently just part of a lift hill, a transfer track and the bottom of a drop will fall in the rankings is ridiculous regardless of whether your optimistic or pessimistic.
  7. I think this is a little over-the-top... to be fair what's the worst that can happen? Even if the ride valleys nobody will be put in danger, and honestly none of the coasters looked close to doing so. They all seemed to be running at a decent clip, I've seen them run much slower. Apparently it has something to do with the wheels they're using. I don't think the word "dangerous" is even close to being the right word to use here. Plus the only coasters that can stop out on the course are Nitro and Green Lantern and if Nitro makes it to the mid course then it's not going to valley. It only valleys before the mid course but with these wheels it's running really fast. Green Lantern shows no signs of valleying either but if it did that would be a wonderful service to the people on the ride as they wouldn't be subjected to the second half of that piece of crap coaster. Actually on Saturday Batman did stop on the lift (it was in the 50's at that point so probably not weather related) and got evaced. About an hour later the sun went down, the temps dropped a lot and the train had been sitting and when they tested it empty it ripped through the course. That ride is out of control, I don't think there's any way it'll ever valley. There are no slow points anywhere on the layout.
  8. How are Prowler and Renegade holding up? Has Cedar Fair been maintaining them well? I know for awhile a lot of people were complaining about Renegade but I also don't usually trust enthusiasts because they complain about every coaster ever built being rough.
  9. I've hated the placement of Revolution from day one. It blocked off a huge expansion area for seemingly no reason at all.
  10. Come for Demon Drop, stay for the back left seat of Talon. I've got to try that, I always ride Talon in the front. Thanks for the tip.
  11. Out of curiosity is the temperature limit a liability thing? Great Adventure is blowing the lid off of any rumors that B&M coasters physically can't run in temps below 40 degrees, they're running them all below that (even when it's below freezing) and they all seem to be running well. When are other parks going to follow suit?
  12. If Alpengeist permanently ran during this event (even with a 42 degree limit) I'd consider going. In any case, nice to see they opened it up for a little bit.
  13. Dorney Park, come for Demon Drop. Stay for the Crab Fries.
  14. I'm glad "I feel your pain" is the term you used to relate to the only other person on earth that enjoyed Shockwave. It's the perfect phrase, you should put it on a T Shirt.
  15. I was actually wondering this myself. Ever done pull-ups? You're talking to a bunch of coaster enthusiasts here.
  16. Absolutely. You can ride all the must rides in half a day too (the coasters, Demon Drop and Thunder Creek Mountain) so you can easily squeeze it in to your trip.
  17. Wait... You're complaining that it's too loud? I know you said you like the ride overall so I won't harp on that too much but seriously... That's a really minor thing to complain about (and something most enthusiasts love). Plus it can't be that loud apparently or you'd be able to hear it coming if you were (oh I don't know) in a restricted area I don't find the ride rattly at all either but to each his own.
  18. While I don't care about the misleading language they use anyway, this one isn't technically wrong because it's completely arbitrary and opinion based. And to be fair a lot of seasoned riders probably do rank this as their #1 wood coaster (though it's debatable by it's very nature). This is just every coaster enthusiast stereotype ever all rolled into one post. Posts like this are why I can't stand the vast majority of coaster enthusiasts. Who cares? Calm down. lol
  19. I don't even know where to begin with any of this. Like any of it... Someone else take this I need a beer.
  20. I'd love for all of Vortex to look burnt... preferably with blowtorches.
  21. I'm on the "love" end of the spectrum. Montu is the only invert that I would put ahead of it. Raptor is an exceptional ride.
  22. It's Cedar Point and B&M... it will.
  23. God, this park really does an outstanding job with special events. We were blown away by Howl O Scream and it looks like their Holiday event is awesome too.
  24. I figured I'd post a few more pictures from Holiday in the Park yesterday (crappy phone pics sorry)... We had a great day and the park was so packed that it was hard to move at times after sunset in Adventure Alley and over by the Carousel and Houdini. It's awesome to see the park so slammed, tons of people buying food and souvenirs and the park expanding hours (signs of a really successful event) and long lines for flats but manageable lines of 30 minutes or less for the coasters. Seriously... go to this event. It's awesome. Pictures don't even come close to doing it justice. Batman and Nitro doing their thing... We got on the last train of the night on Nitro and got stuck about 1/3 of the way up the lift. Maintenance showed up and literally just took a huge mallet to something in the transfer area but after a 15 minute delay we all got our ride. It was pretty funny, they just kept banging on it and would occasionally yell over to the ride ops to see if they could clear it. I guess eventually they did. One of the Nitro ops who was wearing short sleeves all night jumped in the train behind us (probably figuring it would be a quick ride and then he could go home and crank up the heat) and the employees in the station and on Batman's Flash Pass platform were all yelling back and fourth with him and laughing at his misfortune. It was funny as hell. He was a really cool guy though and made our lift stop pretty entertaining. It's a Poinsettia Peak world, we all just live in it. Near the end of the night this ride had a 30 minute wait (but we waited anyway lol). Pictures will never do this event justice, especially the polar point area. Pictures from Big Wheel, this was right around park close so the place had emptied out a bit. The line for Big Wheel was huge all day. Bizarro is all lit up in the background, it's almost like it wants to come out and play with the other B&M's for HITP. Polar Point has to be seen to be believed. It's an endless sea of blue.
