  1. Cam 2 is fine, they just moved it for some reason. The other 2 cams went out when Power Tower lost power (who saw that coming? lol). Per the park's Twitter, the park is closing at 7PM due to the power outage and the Coaster camp out is cancelled.
  2. Okay, I have no idea who this guy is but if you're not following him on Twitter. Do it, do it right now. Hilarious updates from the aftermath and some great information on the "before time" back when the park had power....
  3. Massive storms just ripped through the park. Most of the power is out in the park, Power lines blew into a car on the causeway. Here's the last image the webcam caught before it went out. It looks apocalyptic. lol Snoopy bounce is down for the count. lol
  4. ^I'm sure the ride is getting outstanding reviews so people really won't "react". The only people who care about trims are enthusiasts which probably make up approximately 0.01% of their attendance. And while we're on the subject of things only enthusiasts care about. DOES IT RATTLE?????
  5. Hopefully that rain holds off. With crowds like that they'd probably love to close early but they need something to blame it on. If it doesn't rain they'll just have to bend over and take it.
  6. Probably but thumbs up from me. lol
  7. Yes. Personally I actually like it better that way. Thanks to Zumanjaro it only sends about half as many trains in an hour as Dragster does (or less) because they can't run at the same time and any time either ride breaks down they can't launch KA (Zumanjaro is more unreliable than KA can ever be and they're both unreliable as hell) so there's no reason to rush to load the trains. It's kind of nice though because the only good row on Kingda Ka is row 1 and that line moves faster when they're not alternating between stations (because it's only going to get as full as queue rails allow anyway because people are stupid).
  8. We'd jump around a little and have long lines in the station for row 1 I'm sure so definitely. It's not like we'd sit on it and never get up. lol
  9. It pains me to say this but Vekoma makes the better standard corkscrew design. Arrow blows them away with custom designs though.
  10. We've legitimately considered driving the 12+ hours to go to KI for Haunt, just because they close at 1:00 and we could get over 6 hours to ride the Beast at night with Fastlane. It's just so good. On that note, does anyone know if RFYLCB is open for Haunt (even during the day like KD) if so it would make it even more appealing. In advance: No I don't care how cold it gets in Ohio in October, don't ask stupid questions .
  11. Everyone involved with the project already said that wasn't the problem but you just keep on keepin' on...
  12. Go back to the park, slip the guy at the gate and the Beast greeter 50 bucks. Tell them you know Obama and it's a matter of national security.
  13. 60 seconds... put your running shoes on. Arriba! Arriba!
  14. The Beast at night is a relentless, OMFG religious experience. It's absolutely mind-blowing in the front. Why is it too late? If you're still in the park, put your phone down and start running. Go. Now. Right Now. Yes. It's a very good little mine train. One of my favorites actually.
  15. The airtime at the crest of the "lift hill" looks ungodly.
  16. This. So this. The Beast in the front at night is the best roller coaster experience I've ever experienced. Banshee is a fun but forceless and mediocre invert day or night. Personally I think the second best night ride in the park is actually the Bat, but there's nothing close to Beast. Not at Kings Island, not anywhere. I agree though that during the day the Beast is very average but at night it's an entirely different animal.
  17. Somebody's been spinning the rain policy wheel again. There's a torrential downpour at the park right now that's been going on for awhile. It's raining so hard that all coasters that are visible on webcam are closed except for... ...Iron Dragon. A coaster which last year closed due to a light drizzle even before Dragster did.
  18. I think any answer you get would be pure speculation. B&M seems to love trimming their hypers for some reason though. I'm not sure if it's because they want it to run the same speed regardless of conditions (they don't kick on when it runs slow due to something like an empty train, low temperatures or high winds) or if there's some other reasoning behind it but sadly I doubt we'll ever get a definitive answer.
  19. Great report so far! Can't wait to see more.
  20. Chet and Matt's pizza is pretty good. Plus this is going to sound really stupid and it most definitely is a chain but right under route 2 there's an Applebees with a really weird outdoor, tiki bar thing going on. Obviously it's just an Applebees so I wouldn't eat there, but if you want a place right near the hotel to have a few drinks at the end of the night it's a pretty good option just because it's literally right there and pretty weird.
  21. I love the last line. Basically it says "Give up, you belong to the Muffleheads now".
  22. Your list is terrible, allow me to assist. First of all: Who the F**k cares about Whitewater Falls? lol Elite Rides Fury Afterburn Good Rides Intimidator If you're into that kind of thing... Nighthawk Vortex (not awful for a standup) Who cares? Everything else In all honesty, after those rides it depends what you're into. I don't think Carowinds has a "bad" coaster, but they have a lot of mediocre ones. In regards to non-coasters, since they removed the flume for Intimidator (this was honestly a downgrade... nobody's intimidated and nobody cares) I enjoy Boo Blasters, Windseeker the crappy Drop Tower and Southern Star. I think their flyers suck but a lot of people like them. I enjoy the other coasters for what they are. TL;DR Just ride Fury and Afterburn a lot.
  23. We showed up right before close earlier this season (we were going down to the beach and way ahead of everyone else so we decided to ride Skull Mountain in a thunderstorm) and we zipped right into preferred parking also. Just like you said, there was nobody working the lot.
