I can't brag enough about our trip on Friday the 29th. This was our first trip in 3 years. It was overcast and a light sprinkle all day. We were there at 9:45, walked in and were on the first train of MF of the day. Despite the slight rain ALL the coasters (except Gemini) were open all day. They only ran one train, but everything ran all day. We got to SV around 10:45 and it was still testing. Around 11:15 it opened and it was walk on. We rode in 3x, walk on, with only ONE TRAIN! Cedar Point surprised me. Ride ops who said they have worked there for 5 seasons told us they had never seen the park that dead before. In the first 90 minutes of us being in the park we had ridden MF 2x, Maverick 3x and SV 3x. It was awesome. The same ride op also told us they will run one train in the rain as long as it's not too hard. The one train prevents them from "bumping" if one slid through the brakes. Maverick was running 4 trains, so a "double" but they would not dispatch until all trains had stacked. Even with that, every line kept moving. Our longest wait was at the end of the day for MF, and that was about 30 minutes. Saturday the park was running 2-3 trains. SV was running all 3. Again, the ride ops were AMAZING, they were sprinting to get fast dispatch times at SV to keep the 3 trains rolling. I can't say enough how great the entire park felt, looked, and the experience we had. Well done CP! It was great to come back after 3 years and have one of my best ever visits to the park.4 points

Justice League being closed is fine...I ride it enough at Great Adventure. Hoping to maximize on the coasters, particularly the ones that may only have a few years left (Viper, for instance) and the unique stuff like X2. I'm fully expecting to miss out on a few coasters but hoping for the best. Also definitely planning on a more complete SoCal trip in a couple years to hit Knotts, Disney, Universal, etc plus Dodger Stadium (and maybe a side trip down to Sea World/Petco Park) so I'll be back. Hopefully after Christmas LA will stop being so strict with the mask regulations, but I know that's unlikely. I saw that there's some days during holiday weeks that masks are required even outside. Glad I won't be there for that. Apparently the virus only transmits on Thanksgiving and Christmas and not other busy Saturdays?2 points

I finally made it back out to the park on Halloween! I was excited to check out F.L.Y and the rides I had missed on my previous trip a few years ago. The weather turned out great (mild fall temps and the rain held off until the evening). I was impressed by F.L.Y. Based on reviews, I was expecting a very mild ride, but it was pleasantly forceful (there were a lot of dives where you really feel pulled down and a few good pops of airtime) and a ton of fun. The interaction with the area is really awesome. It is a great ride. If you are a steam-punk fan, it will blow your mind. I will say that I'm not, so I do still prefer Taron, ride and theming wise. I also preferred Taron at night, lit up with cool colors, where as FLY was just white-light, but I it did stay true to the theming. The park didn't seem too busy. The longest I waited was ~45 minutes for Taron around 11am. The lines completely cleared up after 12 (This seems to be a thing in Germany? Everyone seemed to queue up for lunch while Taron went from 50 minutes to literally 10 minutes from 12:30-1:30ish!). I took advantage of this and got a solid 7 or 8 rides on Taron between 12:30 and 2ish. Black Mamba was practically a walk-on all day and most other rides where at most 20 minutes. I think FLY was 30-45 minutes all day (I got 2 rides, 1 at the start of the day in the front row and another later afternoon with ~45 minute wait. I know the advertised capacity is more than Taron, but the line felt way slower. Taron was killing it with quick 4-train op). After around 12 rides on Taron, I would say front left seat is where it's at. The trims before the last airtime hill were on (I can't recall if this was the case when I was there a few years ago), it's really a shame as it completely kills that last hill (you still get floater air). Kind of like Konda, I feel the last 10-20 seconds of Taron leave a lot to be desired, and I just wish there was more airtime. I do other wise love the ride though. This was my first time at the park after dark and Taron absolutely was amazing at night! The dark and lighting really add the experience. I also got a ride on Black Mamba on the way out and it felt completely out of control in the dark! I tried to upload a video of FLY, but it won't load for some reason. On to some pictures: FLY as you enter from the main park entrance View from an open-air section of the queue On to Taron, my favorite part of the park Andech's Hell's break before heading back to FLY Back to Taron as the sun started to go down. I LOVE the red lit second launch! Anyone know how to flip this image? It inverted on uploading!2 points

Is anyone knocking them for buying the SLC? I'm not knocking them for buying an SLC, I'm knocking them for buying two coasters and having them shipped to another continent in one case and then almost literally to the other side of the world in the other and then being surprised to learn incredibly basic things about what they bought after they bought them and agreed to ship them across the world. Even if it will "work out" in the end, that's still insane, especially in the case of the SLC where you can find plenty all over the US to just go and ride. And again... that's assuming what they're saying in this video is actually accurate (and that's a big assumption).1 point

I made it down to Walibi Saturday night for the start of their Fright Night. I got to say I was pretty impressed by the Halloween theming! I didn't do any of the paid things, but they look good, especially wicked woods. I went in the evening primarily to get night rides on Konda. The park usually closes at 6pm during the summer, but these two weekends the park is open until 10! So on to Konda. It was definitely a fun experience at night, as I almost always love night rides. It was chilly and raining most of the night though, so it wasn't running particularly fast. I was happy that the singles line was finally open! Ride ops did a great job of filling the trains and running an efficient two-train op. I got probably close to 10 rides in just a few hours before 9ish PM. As much fun as Konda is, when it hits the break run, I always feel disappointed that it missed out on the opportunity to be really special. Such great moments and an interesting layout on the 2nd half, but the second half just feels slugish and a bit tame, and I still find the non-inverting cobra roll pointless. I might head back next weekend for the last of the Halloween Fright nights (trying to convince my friends out here to go, but none of them are really into amusement parks or Halloween...). Konda at night! Queue entrance Mine train Rebellion land, a rave kind of outdoor party. It was actually pretty cool! 20211030_211817.mp4 Haunted Circus setup1 point

We ended up going to Howl-O-Screams at Seaworld this past Saturday and had a pretty great time, I was honestly kind of impressed with the event. All of the houses were pretty good, none of them were "great" but I thought they were all really fun. Decent length and full of actors. The pirate house and Beneath the Ice were our favorites, Deadwater Inn was probably the weakest just because it felt the shortest but again was still fun. The scare zones didn't really have a ton of "scares" but the atmosphere in them was great. Tons of actors all over the place doing a nice job of interacting with people, hiding in the bushes and behind walls and stuff, very fun to walk through. The highlight of the event for us was the entertainment. Monster Stomp was a lot of fun, I don't really know what the plot was supposed to be but there was spooky singing and dancing and stuff that all looked very cool. The Sirens Call show was also a lot of fun. Again I don't know what the plot really was but there were spooky sexy men and women with fire and stuff. The way they used that open plaza and the show was all around you was really neat. We also watched the Long Shoreman for about 30 minutes in the themed bar at Sharks and they were awesome. It was kind of an improve comedy type show but the performers were very talented and funny, super fun little show. And the drinks in all of the specialty bars were great, at the Longshoremans Tavern we had a candy corn old fashioned with a HEAVY pour of bourbon that was great, and the specialty drinks at the other bars were all pretty good. There was a pretty good crowd there on Saturday but all of the lines moved well and it didn't feel overly crowded. The lines for a few of the houses were long and wrapped around backstage areas similar to horror nights but I don't think we waited more than 30 minutes max? Didn't feel like very many people had express pass so the lines moved consistently. We walked onto Mako twice, once around 9 then again at 12:20 or so. Around 10:30 the wait was posted around 40 minutes and the que was pretty full but earlier and later in the evening it was 10 minutes or less. It was nice just being able to decide to go to the event last minute, buy a ticket with no express pass, show up an hour after the event started and still be able to see and do everything we wanted. I was glad I got a chance to check out the event and I'm excited to see how it evolves next year. It'll be nice to have Ice Breaker open as another ride option. As much as I'd like to see Manta and Kraken open for the event it really did work pretty well just in the back half of the park so I don't expect that to change for now atleast.1 point

Spent Saturday at SeaWorld SanAntonio with a group of folks from Thrill Seekers United for quite the fun event (which included a Fear Pass to get into all 5 houses on the day before Halloween - yes the lines were L-O-N-G so thank goodness for that. . . as well as a surprise up-close look at Tidal Surge construction). it was really my "true" 1st time to experience the park, and I had a blast. Full trip report (and my day today at SFFT coming up in the near future) with LOTS of pics (:P) . . but I wanted to share this pic now, as sometimes? I manage to get a beautiful pic. no filters used, just my iPhone 11, and some good timing on my part:1 point

Finally made my first visit to this park for HHN yesterday. They were calling for tornados and rough storms all day. Never happened and park was fairly dead except for 9-12ish. Rained for 20 min at 3:00. Glad I took Bills advice and made the Bourne show with stay and scream entry. Bourne was incredible. Tech is amazing. Screen and projectors are amazing. No glitches. Wow. Had a fun night and did everything. Actually did 15 house walkthroughs since we had express and knocked out most without it first trip around the park. Saw the Fuel show. Good times.1 point
