  1. If the cherry picker was under 100 feet, yes. That's the clutter zone where radar can't differentiate between terrain and objects.

  2. Yeah, that's my dilemma; what to do? On the other hand what is the worst I am risking by waiting to see what happens? Just the sale price, probably not that big a deal in the long run.

  3. ...or their FAQs. It's important to know there will be no blockout dates in 2022.

  4. just to note: I purchased a brand new Gold Season Pass during the sale, and added on Dining Pass, and drink pkg. at the recommendation of someone *who would know* I did NOT renew my current pass, but instead bought new passes, and we will activate those later this year. was informed that was "the safest way to do it" to ensure that any renewal didn't override my current pass and wipe out our current dining plan (which is with all park add on). so yeah, different situation as we have passes, not memberships. but the solution might be to just buy a new membership? or keep the current membership, and buy a new pass?, and then in 2026, cancel current membership?

  5. So for anyone who wants to know: 1) Called corporate. Waited on hold for about 15 minutes before it forced me to leave a message with the promise of a call back. Doubtful that will happen but hopefully, I will be wrong. 2) Called SFSTL where I had a conversation with a truly very nice and helpful guest relations woman. She was sympathetic but stated that they themselves have not been told about the food issue and as far as she knows SF has not decided on that issue yet for the memberships. She suggested that I use the chat feature on web site because then she would get a record of it and be able to pursue it with corporate. So, 3) I did that. Twice but was never able to connect to a live human despite being on hold on the chat waiting for one for 45 minutes. Although I did get an email from the same person I spoke to yesterday this morning. So I wrote a response that she can hopefully then pass up the line about how basically it is bs that they are announcing the changes without knowing all the changes, etc, etc This may all be completely for naught but as a troublemaking former social studies teacher that has more time on her hands than ever before I will continue to fight the man until I get an answer of die from exhaustion. Stay tuned. I'm double posting this on SFSTL thread since it's my home park and the SF corporate thread for maximum audience in case anyone else finds out anything.

  7. Wait, so the Flume has been closed since mid-June, not this week when they removed the listing? I misunderstood - haven't been to the park since 2019 (and likely won't for a few more).

  8. Whatever it is that happened, happened in the afternoon on the day in question (it was either the Friday or Saturday of Juneteenth weekend). When it happened they shut down Bugs Bunny National Park and then for a few days after they shut down that part of Frontier Adventures so you had to go under El Toro to get to Medusa and Mine Train. While none of this is proven fact, multiple sources from multiple sites said the same thing about the day in question and the days following. Whatever happened has been kept hush hush because of where it is in the park. Besides the part that goes by the kiddie area (which was evacuated right after the incident happened) the rest of the ride is mostly out of view from inside the park until the final hill. The rumor (and I want to be clear this is just a rumor as obviously nothing official has ever come out) is that a log got stuck just after the top of the first lift (where it cuts over the corner of the kiddie area) and then another log came up from behind and knocked it out of place and nearly over the edge of the trough. If this is indeed what happened, it would literally be the 2nd time in 4 years that this flume has had a log get stuck and then another log come up and knock it out of place. Rides that "open the same year as an accident or death" are often opened quickly because the cause of the vast majority of ride accidents is human error, but otherwise the ride did not malfunction. In this case, when a ride gets stuck in areas where it shouldn't twice in a very short period of time (a period made even shorter by the fact it was barely open in the past 4 years) it's not just going to test for a week and then they reopen it. Obviously there is something major wrong with it. Whether or not the park has actually given up on opening it ever again remains to be seen. Again, I know my post is based on total rumors but a fairly sizeable amount of people thought the Kingda Ka rumors were total bullshit and we saw how that worked out. With the condition the park is in (and has been for quite a while), I think the Flume rumors have some truth to them.
