jarmor
Since I haven't been to a media day since...2006 i think at carowinds I decided to take the trip up to the park. I figure since I had never ridden a traditional boomerang this would be my best chance to do so. That day was an ugly day for a media day but the weather didnt stop them from running the coaster, as well as carolina goldrusher and carolina...err...night hawk. What was also cool what they have a game booth open for people to play games for free aslo free caricature drawings AND free onride photos on carolina cobra. Well here are the pictures... Excuse the quality I took the pictures on a blackberry storm since I dont have a camera anymore ... [/i] One last shot of Carolina Cobra. Looks different now. Looks like the que was saved...for now. WhooooOAOAAAAAA! Flying in the rain... Horseshoes, Cobra rolls, and batwings...OH MY! I like this loop better than the cobra...but then again backwards on the cobra is intense. Whats wrong with this picture...??? Running in the rain...I think I see my brother on it... It looks really nice in person...I still perfer the dark colors but who am I... Vekomas are sprouting up all over this place! Lets head over to dayhawk... another view of the roll Dayhawk in the distance. Tool shed full of coaster tools... Head...errr...Carolina cobra! Going foward...or backward. The lift(s) again... Cant get too artsy with a blackberry lol... Cant get enough of the cobra...thanks to the new trains... Lets get ready to ride...the ribbon cutting ceremony took every bit of 90 seconds lol. I guess when you have had as many as this coaster had...no need. The pretty cobra... If I were a cp fanboy this guy would be considered Jesus since he dad is look is God...to some Fanboys lol. Dani...pr chick... I forgot his name... The real stars of the show More shots of this one of a kind coaster... The live band that pretty much seem to know every song even written lol... Ice, Ice baby... "If you call this thing here Caroline one more them im gonna slap you to sleep!" "so sir, tell me how was your ride on "Caroline" Cobra..." Adding more LIM's. Pretty intense on the ride back... is it over... Now I like the color combo...but I think its better suited for a 50's themed hot rod style coaster. Moving a little... Vallied...(j/k) If only you can play like this... Dead park... The lift(s). and another... Another shot... even has the nicktoons out dancing and prancing. I still dont see "cobra" with the color scheme. Maybe next year the park will bring a "diamondback" heh heh pythons are cool... real snakes...but no cobra The red carpet courtesy of the blood from the cobras bite. Yeah im part of the media...does rumor spreading counts? A moment of silence...
Jcoaster
Did you get a chance to ride Carolina Cobra? How was it with the new trains, did they help make the ride at least a little bit more pleasent?
Ccron10
It really seems wierd to me how they are doing a media day for one of the most manufactured coaster types out there. Hopefully the trains are a big improvement and that we may see other parks investing in them.
Electerik
...since im a fanboy. Hey, that isn't from my comment back in the ride announcement thread, is it? We're still pals, right? Anyway, thanks for the photos. I, too, am curious to hear more about how the new trains are.
jarmor
Did you get a chance to ride Carolina Cobra? How was it with the new trains, did they help make the ride at least a little bit more pleasent? I have never had a chance to ride it before with the old trains but man...this ride was really smooth. There was some jerks in the cobra roll on the return trip but other than that it is very re-rideable! It really seems wierd to me how they are doing a media day for one of the most manufactured coaster types out there. Hopefully the trains are a big improvement and that we may see other parks investing in them. One can say that but even as a coaster junkie I have never been on a standard boomerang coaster. The general public, which was out there today really enjoyed the coaster. The placement of the ride is great, even I have to admit it, and its even nicely landscaped. It seems like it was made for that area. ...since im a fanboy. Hey, that isn't from my comment back in the ride announcement thread, is it? We're still pals, right? Anyway, thanks for the photos. I, too, am curious to hear more about how the new trains are. There's a ride announcement thread lol??? The fanboy was geared to some poser who post on here... Thelegendarymatthew
You made a boomerang look good I prefer the new colors, Carrowinds felt like a "dark" park. At least now it has some bright colors. (I know that you have reptar, but the paint starting to fade, so its not bright ) -Matthew.K
Electerik
There's a ride announcement thread lol??? Um...no. No, there's not a secret ride announcement thread where all of us A-listers get let in on what the parks are building before anyone else. Forget I mentioned it. I meant this thread: Carolina Cobra to Strike at Carowinds for 2009 But upon further review, I think I actually (jokingly) called you a fanboy in a different thread...so never mind. Or maybe it never happened at all. Crap, where's the "delete post" button??
Guest
I cant imagine going to a park to ride a Boomerang, went on that one at Geauga Lake and it was horrible. Brave man.
jarmor
Ha ha this is the one from geauga lake! But I dont know if its the trains or not but it rides like a brand new coaster. The general public is gonna really eat this coaster up because its something "new" to alot of the park guest.
Speeddeamon128
Nice TR! For using a Blackberry your pictures turned out pretty good. So these new boomerang trains really did make a difference!? Vekoma still needs to improve their SLC trains because Fly the Great Nor' Easter still is rough & crappy to me
