  1. ^^ and I thought it was just me. They're definitely not rushing it, that's for sure. It does seem that way, however we have had some very bad weather over the past couple of weeks that I'm sure would have badly affected the construction site. Not to mention high winds (high enough to halt crane lifting) hence the lack of vertical construction. Hopefully the weather will get better soon and we can see more progress.
  2. Nice to see you get my name right for at least the first picture Larry!
  3. I think my moment of terror was from a local seaside park at Pleasure Beach Gt Yarmouth. When I was about 10 I rode a portable top spin ride called Terminator. Everything was ok as I sat in my seat, but things took a turn for the worse when the restraints came down. As Im sure most of you are aware, top spins have an over the shoulder harness and a secondary lap bar which clamps against the outside of the OTSR. All of them worked, apart from mine, where my lap bar came down first before the OTSR. This left one hell of a gap around my body to the point where I could easily slip out of the ride. Despite my shouting and shear panic the ride started. Lets just say I was flung all about in my seat and I came off with large bruises and red marks all over my back. Because I knew something was wrong I clung on for dear life, had I been unaware, it could have been worse. After speaking to the ride operator he said nothing came up as wrong on the system and he kind of shrugged off the problem. Think he thought otherwise when I showed him the marks on my back! I have, however, overcome my fear of top spins about 4 years ago (about 8 years after the incident) and now I think they're great. However I'm still not the biggest fan of portable rides!
  4. Those trains look awesome. When I first saw the design for this coaster, I thought it looked good, but nothing spectacular. Now, this looks brilliant. Definitely looking forward to trying this out in the summer!
  5. This is not what I was expecting in the slightest!! I thought they would be building something low key, mainly indoors in a new building to reduce excessive noise being emitted to the parks neighbours. This is the exact opposite. Pretty excited! However seeing how close it is to the village and how much is exposed to the nearby hillside I can see this kicking up quite a few complaints. We'll just have to see!
  6. Rumours never really pointed to the black hole until this new planning application came into effect. This may not necessarily relate to the sw7 project as there is no mention of it on the application so far. This would, however mean that there would be another coaster that is not a secret weapon being built in the black hole area. This seems very unlikely and as such, indicates strongly that this is for the new sw7. It does seem strange to put something there as it is really close to the Ropers house, which are the couple that complain all the time. Especially seeing as the tent was an enclosed space which didn't require planning consent. So unless it's some super quite coaster, or they create a bigger building to house the coaster in, I can't see them getting very far with it. I agree, this would be a great addition to that area, as it seems to be lacking and is in some need of more/better rides. But I would have also have been happy with it being in the flumes place, but again that would have had its problems with the protected trees there. That poster found a while ago hinting that the it was going in the flumes place was probably a decoy as I've heard elsewhere that the flume is merely being rethemed. Hopefully we will find out more when the planning portal release the planning documents and we can make more sense of it.
  7. ^ on nemesis, the footers are actually tied into the side embankment at an angle, encased in a steel box. I believe the man made river flows underneath them. On another note, concrete in water is not a problem. On my site we poured concrete in torrential rain and freezing conditions. Obviously it's not a river, but it can be done in water with no major structural problems. The footings would have been designed to withstand lateral forces, like those by moving water, especially since the coaster car will be exerting this force as it moves over the support anyway.
  8. Unfortunately I've never ridden a b&m or intamin hyper so I can't pass comment on them until I try them next year. However I have to completely agree with Robb and some others in regards to recent b&m coasters. Apart from their step into wing riders and gigs coasters they just seem to lack any originality. It's generally the same bunch of elements in the same order on most of their coasters (drop, loop, dive loop/Immelmann then zero g) all of which seem to be trimmed. I'm going to sound biased being from the uk, but the whole of nemesis (but especially the first helix) is pure classic b&m force. I also found Katun to be the same. Id love for them to do something similar now and i think the new inverted at parc astrix is the closest thing to it.

  10. To organise several tours whilst moving is very impressive. Thanks for the hard work! Definitely getting excited.
  11. Cool thanks for the quick reply Robb. Will try and book my place asap and send the deposit in. Thanks
  12. I thought I would join in with this one. (In no particular order) 1) Intimidator 305 2) Kingda Ka 3) Maverick 4) Blue Fire 5) Tatsu 6) El Toro (SF Great Adventure) 7) The Voyage 8) Eagle's Fortress 9) Black Mamba 10) Wild Eagle 11) Sky Rush 12) Millennium Force 13) Expedition GeForce 14) Apollo's Chariot 15) Mythos To be fair, any parks that I haven't been to will be on my bucket list, which unfortunately doesn't stretch much further than UK parks, Florida Parks and Miribilandia in Italy.
  13. Hey, I'm new to the forum but thought I would ask anyway. Are there any spaces on the New Hotness USA tour left? I've always wanted to do a tour, but as I'm from the UK I've always been a bit reluctant to do it. If there aren't, how far along the wait list would I be if I sent in the deposit?
